Chapter Index

    untie the bell

The ward was quiet for less than a minute when Su Ji called. Shen Luo hesitated for a few seconds before answering. He asked tentatively: “Are you okay?”

Shen Luoqiang said in a normal tone: “I’m fine.”

    “Then what did you say?”

Shen Luo was not surprised that he would ask this, after all, every meeting between the two before this ended on bad terms.

“She and I have nothing to do with each other. From now on, we will treat each other as strangers.”

Su Ji could only hear the sound of the wind turning the pages of the book, and it took him a long time to say a complete sentence: “…Maybe this is the best result.”

    “…”

Su Ji’s voice was lost with a trace of imperceptible joy. The two of them couldn’t talk except these words. Just when they were about to hang up the phone, Shen Luo seemed to be fully prepared and let out a sigh of relief.

    “Brother.”

Su Ji thought he heard it wrong and said “ah”. Shen Luo opened his mouth again and shouted again.

    “Brother, thank you.”

“You’re welcome, brother.” Su Ji’s voice trembled and rose, and he was so excited that he couldn’t even speak fluently.

The warmth he had just accumulated disappeared when Liang Qian yelled in a broken voice.

    “Shen Luo——”

As soon as he broke in, his attention was attracted by the peaches on the table. He picked one up and asked, “Who gave this to me?”

    “Chen Meng.”

Liang Qian immediately fell back, took out several tissues to wipe his hands, and said disgustedly: “What a bad luck, why is she here?”

“Some things must be said clearly to her face to face. Now that she is here, I don’t have to make another trip.” Shen Luo didn’t want to mention it anymore, so she asked him what he wanted to say just now.

“An Yu fainted.” Liang Qian then remembered that he had informed him of this important event.

Shen Luo lifted up the quilt and stood barefoot on the ground, saying nervously: “What’s going on? How could a good person faint?”

“He suddenly fainted in the kitchen when he was cooking porridge just now. The porridge in the pot was still bubbling and almost splashed on him. Fortunately, I have quick eyesight and quick hands, otherwise he would have been disfigured.” Liang Qian finally raised his eyebrows proudly.

Shen Luo was so angry that he almost kicked him, and said excitedly: “Where is he now?”

“Next door to you.” Liang Qian pointed to the ward separated by a wall behind him.

Shen Luo rushed out of the door before even putting on his shoes. An Yu’s cheeks were red and her lips were dry. An Yan frowned displeasedly when he saw someone coming in. After seeing the person, he sighed helplessly and lowered his head again.Liang Qian followed up and looked at the unconscious An Yu, “Tsk, tsk” twice, and muttered in his ear: “The weather outside is only thirty-seven or eight degrees, and his fever is thirty-nine degrees, which is stronger than the sun.”

Liang Qian, who was so talkative, really wanted to be beaten up, but Shen Luo couldn’t care about it now. He pulled him away and held An Yu’s hands. Those hands were as hot as if they had just been taken out of hot water.

Shen Luo looked at An Yan anxiously and asked, “How is he?”

An Yan said without changing his expression: “It’s okay, it’s just a fever. It’ll be fine when the fever goes down.”

Seeing An Yan being so calm and composed, Shen Luo felt relieved.

An Yan didn’t wait long. Liang Qian had a headache looking at the two people wearing hospital gowns.

“I have something to go out for.”

After a while, Liang Qian came in, followed by six unfamiliar faces. Shen Luo looked at him inexplicably. He clapped his hands, and the six of them stood in a row, proudly saying: “I specially found a caregiver who is experienced, quick at work, and also humorous.”

Liang Qian came up for compliments, raised his eyebrows and said, “How is it?”

Looking at the nurse with bright eyes and rosy face in front of him, Shen Luo pulled down Liang Qian’s collar and whispered: “Where did you get all this? Is it reliable?”

Liang Qian assured him seriously: “Of course it’s reliable. See if it works. If not, just replace it with the next batch.”

Seeing that they were looking at him, the six people immediately stood up like a pine tree, with their heads held high and their chests held high. This uniform movement made Shen Luo feel inexplicably happy.

    “You…just figure it out.”

After Shen Luo agreed, Liang Qian asked them to clean the ward first. Looking at such a capable nurse, Liang Qian couldn’t help but feel that he looked at people as viciously as a talent scout.

An Yu fell into a coma for two days before waking up. When Liang Qian brought the news to Shen Luo, he was visibly relieved and retracted his legs to get out of bed.

Liang Qian asked doubtfully: “Don’t you go and take a look?”

“Everyone is awake, let him have a good rest.”

Liang Qian saw through his duplicity, suppressed his laughter, and pretended to be sorry: “Oh… I won’t go if you don’t want to go. When you were lying down, it was almost burning like a little sun, but I had to go back and cook porridge for you. In the end, I almost lost a layer of skin. I didn’t expect to get such a result. I really feel worthless for him, ugh~~”

He kept buzzing in Shen Luo’s ears like a mosquito, and he couldn’t drive it away, and he couldn’t explain it.

Shen Luo stopped in front of the door, his hand on the doorknob hesitant. Liang Qian did not urge him, but leaned aside and watched his struggle.

    “No, no, really no need…”

An Yu’s anxious and hoarse voice came from the room, and Shen Luo’s men rushed in. An Yu looked at him blankly, and a nurse put down the half-opened quilt.

“Luoluo, why are you here?” An Yu tucked the quilt tightly in embarrassment.

Shen Luo looked at the frightened two people and said with some embarrassment: “I heard it was noisy next door, so I came to see what was going on.”

“It’s okay, it’s okay.” An Yu quickly replied without even waiting for Shen Luo to finish.

The nurse saw that he was embarrassed to say it, so he explained it clearly for him with a smile.

“It’s something, it’s something. I saw that the young master has been sleeping for so long, so I wanted him to change his underwear and let me wash him. I didn’t expect him to be so shy. You said there is nothing to be ashamed of, right?”

After hearing his words, Shen Luo’s face turned red unnaturally. An Yu covered her eyes and secretly observed Shen Luo’s expression. He stood there at a loss, and the ward was silent.

Liang Qian hid outside the ward and burst into laughter. An Yu said to the nurses, “I don’t need anyone to take care of me now. You all can go back.”

“That won’t work. We want to see you discharged from the hospital, so we won’t get any money.” A female nurse stood up and said.

Other caregivers also agreed. Anyu asked them to calm down and said, “I will pay the money. You can leave now.”

“It’s true.” The female nurse’s eyes lit up. When she saw An Yu nodded, she thanked her repeatedly, “Thank you, thank you young master. We wish you a speedy recovery.”

After sending the person away, Shen Luo felt at a loss. It was neither good to leave nor to stay. An Yu was still dripping in her hand and could not leave the hospital bed too far.

“You haven’t answered me yet, why are you here?”

An Yu desperately wanted an answer. Shen Luo was struggling in his heart and did not dare to look up. Perhaps the longing in his heart was too heavy and kept his voice low: “I miss you.”

“What?” An Yu didn’t listen too seriously and asked again.

“I miss you, Ayou, I love you,” Shen Luo said what was in his heart in one breath, and then looked at him aggrievedly, “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t vent my bad emotions on you. This is not your fault, and you shouldn’t bear the consequences.”

An Yu opened his hand, and Shen Luo rushed in. Chai’s thin body hurt An Yu, but he hugged him tighter and placed a moist kiss on the top of his head, as if he wanted to make him a part of himself.

“You don’t have to apologize to me. I have never blamed you. I only blame myself for not protecting you. If you can feel better, I will accept all your little tempers willingly,” An Yu said dotingly, “Luoluo, I love you.”
