    calm

Chen Meng’s hands kept trembling, and a man’s voice floated in his ears.

“I’m helping you, and I’m helping him.”

After attending You Min’s funeral, Shen Meng was in a state of despair for a few days. When she received an anonymous text message, she thought it was a spam text message, but when she saw the words in the box, she accidentally clicked on it. The sender was deliberately hidden, and all she could see was a string of garbled characters.

“Do you want to break them up?”

Shen Meng looked at the time. Just an hour ago, she looked around cautiously. There was nothing unusual. She tentatively replied to him: “What do you mean?”

They quickly checked it and only sent one address after half a day. Shen Meng paused and clicked in. Then she immediately drove to the location marked on the map.

It was a busy market, with more people than the morning market. Even if you dropped your money on the ground, you wouldn’t be able to get around to pick it up.

Shen Meng entered a residential building. There were people guarding the door. They were several tough men. Their ferocious looks made her calves tremble.

The man scolded: “You scared my guest.”

He said nothing and lowered his head further, and then the man let him go.

Seeing Shen Meng’s frightened expression, he smiled and said, “No wonder Shen Luo is so beautiful. Please sit down.”

After sitting down, Shen Meng tightened her bag with her fingers, observing him all the time. His right eye seemed not very flexible, and it didn’t look like a real eyeball was in its socket.

She said: “What exactly do you want to say?”

And he poured a cup of tea leisurely and said, “I’m Zhuang Hao. Let’s talk slowly while drinking tea.”

Shen Meng took a sip of tea, grimacing in pain, and immediately put it down.

    “Can you speak now?”

Seeing her anxious look, Zhuang Hao found it very interesting. He laughed twice and then said to her: “You have always wanted to break them up. I have a way.”

Shen Meng ignored her nervousness, leaned forward, and asked urgently: “What can you do?”

Zhuang Hao didn’t say anything. He took out a box with an ampoule inside and a syringe next to it. Shen Meng didn’t understand why and wanted to pick it up and take a look. Zhuang Hao interrupted her and said, “As long as you inject this into Shen Luo’s body, he will fall asleep deeply. Then if you send him to this place, I will give you an obedient son.”

Seeing him take out another piece of paper, Shen Meng picked it up and looked at it suspiciously, then threw it back and asked sternly: “You actually want to send him to the second hospital. Do you know that the second hospital is…”

“Of course I know,” Zhuang Hao interrupted her as expected, picked up the piece of paper, carefully folded it neatly and put it together with the needle, and said with a determined smile, “You want to send him to a rehabilitation center.”

    “…”

Shen Meng did think so, but she never told anyone, or even contacted anyone in the rehabilitation center using her mobile phone.

“I didn’t have the heart to send Lord Su in back then, but now I have the heart to send my son in. Do you know that nine out of ten people who come out from there are stupid, and one even loses his life.” Zhuang Hao said slowly.

Shen Meng’s pupils shrank suddenly, and she was so frightened that she slumped down on the soft chair, unable to speak a complete sentence.

“What’s more, if a man as beautiful as Shen Luo is sent in, there’s no guarantee that no one will take advantage of him,” Zhuang Hao said very softly, holding a photo that appeared out of nowhere, with Shen Luo smiling like a flower. “By then, it will be too late. This Second Hospital is a hospital after all, so there will definitely be no accidents to him.”

Shen Meng reached for the things on the table with trembling hands and asked, “What is this?”

“Don’t worry, this will just let him sleep, it won’t hurt him.”

Zhuang Hao asked someone to wrap the ampoule and carefully put it back into the box. He placed his palm on her shoulder and said, “I am helping you, and I am also helping him.”

After Shen Meng left, Zhuang Hao immediately dropped his face, lit a cigarette, and burned the photos.

The firelight illuminated his stern face, and he said to himself: “Even if you are not crazy, I can drive you crazy, Shen Luo. If you want to blame me, it’s Zhuang Yi. If it weren’t for him, you and An Yu would have been happy forever.”

Shen Luo’s eyes widened, and the car door was locked. Shen Meng’s expression was much calmer than that day, and her driving movements were done in one go.

It only took a few minutes for Shen Luo to feel a slight sting from the needle site. A strong, irresistible sleepiness was sweeping over him, as if someone had wrapped his head in layers of cotton. Everything around him was dimming and the sound was gradually blurring.

Shen Meng’s voice was close at hand but far away. She said: “As long as you return to normal, you can take the college entrance examination again next year. I will not allow this to happen to me a second time.”

The next second, Shen Luo completely fainted.

An Yu hadn’t had a nightmare for a long time. The sweat on his forehead and the sudden twitching of his body reminded him of what a terrible dream he had just had.

Anyan has returned to Jiuyuan Village, and he is the only one in the entire ward. Among them, only Tang Moci is still in Ancheng, and comes to accompany him every day after get off work.

“Why don’t you see your Luoluo? Is it because I came at the wrong time?”

Tang Moci just closed the computer, relaxed his neck that had been tense all day, and finally found time to tease him.

An Yu’s legs under the quilt were also numb. He curled up to protect himself and said displeasedly: “He is thin-skinned. You can’t say that to his face.”

“Yes, yes,” Tang Moci said helplessly as he stood up and moved around, “He is the most precious.”

After Tang Mo left, An Yu looked at the last text message between the two of them, but there was no reply from the other party. He seemed to be used to Shen Luo disappearing on his phone, and it would be fine if he remembered it in two days.

For several days, every piece of news was ignored, and it was still the same a week later. Only then did An Yu realize that something was wrong. He rushed to the door as fast as he could and bumped into his current doctor.

“Young Master An, you cannot leave the hospital.” Dr. Duan said.

An Yu used his other hand to open his arm and said anxiously, “I’m going out for a while and I’ll be back soon.”

Doctor Duan was still reluctant and refused to let him leave the ward. He said, “Young Master An, it’s not that I won’t let you leave. It’s because Doctor An told me before he left that you can’t leave until your injury is healed.”

When An Yu saw this, he took off everything on his hand and said, “My hand is healed, can I leave now?”

After saying that, he was about to rush out. During the argument, he accidentally touched his arm. The healed wound was torn instantly. The sudden pain was like experiencing a puncture again. Anyu knelt on the ground with a pale face, and dark red blood fell like rain. Doctor Duan quickly called for people to help him in. Tang Moci happened to come at this time. Seeing the doctors and nurses rushing in and out, he stopped a person and asked, “What’s wrong with the people inside?”

“The wound was torn and infected.”

He left with just a few words. After the situation stabilized, Tang Moci rarely lost his temper with him. An Yu frowned in pain and just listened to his scolding.

“An Yu, do you want to be a one-armed man in the future, just like Yang Guo? Do you know that your arm has been punctured, not scratched or bruised? Now is not the time for you to fool around. Do you really want to become a cripple?”

His voice was extremely loud and angry, echoing throughout the room. Anyu lowered his head, gently raised his eyes and looked at the hanging arm, and said aggrievedly: “But he is gone. I sent him many messages, but he didn’t reply to any of them.”

Tang Moci felt a little resentful that iron could not become steel. His anger came and went quickly. Seeing his pitiful appearance, his heart softened and he said, “Maybe he was just busy and forgot. Even if something happened, you can call me. Ayi and the others left, and I am still in Ancheng. Why do you ignore your own health like this?”

An Yu looked at him and said, “Then can you go check on him for me and say that I miss him.”

    “Okay.”
