Chapter 99: Wanting to be Closer to Him

This was the first time Su Shi had spent New Year’s Eve on an airplane. It was an impulsive decision, but he didn’t regret it.

Since there was no one he wanted to celebrate the New Year with if he stayed, it was better to go somewhere closer to Chi Ye.

The plane was quite full, and the flight attendants distributed small snacks to each passenger, along with blessings.

Su Shi hadn’t eaten anything from afternoon to evening, and his stomach was empty.

He forced himself to eat a little to line his stomach, then asked a flight attendant for a cup of hot water, drank it, and lay down to rest.

He arrived at Beizhou International Airport at 12:32 AM.

It was already the first day of the New Year.

The temperature here was much lower. Su Shi put on his thickest coat and followed the crowd off the plane.

Thinking they were just mass-sent New Year’s greetings, Su Shi didn’t pay much attention and opened the hotel app.

Su Shi was meticulous and picky about hotels, so he hadn’t chosen one even as he approached the exit.

Su Shi planned to go outside and find a place to sit down and choose carefully, but as he looked ahead, he suddenly froze.

Chi Ye looked serious, his gaze locked on Su Shi, staring intently.

Chi Ye said, “Don’t get angry when I tell you.”

Su Shi had a bad feeling, “Could it be Chen Cheng?”

Chi Ye nodded, pulling Su Shi’s suitcase with one hand and holding Su Shi’s hand with the other, walking towards the airport parking lot.

Chi Ye was very surprised to receive a call from Chen Cheng at night.

Chi Ye had never liked this guy who always pestered Su Shi, finding him extremely annoying. He thought the call was to start being unreasonable, but he didn’t expect to hear Chen Cheng say, “Hey Chi, did my brother go to find you? He left the Chen Family Home and hasn’t come home since. Did he go to find you?”

Learning that Chi Ye was in his hometown, Chen Cheng exploded, “You actually left him and went back yourself?”

“I know.”

“But Chen Cheng did surprise me a little.”

“Yeah, then I won’t hate him so much in the future.”

Su Shi grabbed Chi Ye and asked, “Why do you hate him? I still want to ask you, why were you two so unpleasant when you first met?”

Chi Ye pulled Su Shi along, continuing to walk, “Because he always pesters you, I’m annoyed by him.”

When they arrived at the parking lot, without the warmth, Su Shi felt the biting cold.

Chi Ye had driven here himself, in a Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

“Yes.”

Su Shi praised, “Very handsome, has presence.”

The car was a gift from Chi Xiangqin when he turned 18. He didn’t give him an especially luxurious car, telling him to remember that money doesn’t come easily, and you have to both fight for and protect your territory.
