Chapter 51: I’ve Washed Your Clothes Before

A deluxe room only has one bed. How are we going to sleep later? Su Shi worried about this while taking a shower.

He softened his heart and brought Chi Ye back just now. Now, how is he going to deal with this situation?

If it were before, Su Shi wouldn’t have thought anything of sharing a night with Chi Ye. But now, knowing that Chi Ye harbored such feelings, Su Shi felt awkward just thinking about it.

He deliberately dawdled in the shower for so long because he didn’t want to face Chi Ye, and he still felt awkward even after he finished.

When Su Shi came out of the shower, he saw Chi Ye putting a quilt on the small sofa by the window, looking like he was going to sleep there.

That small sofa was a single-seater with a footstool, which was barely enough for Chi Ye’s tall frame.

But Su Shi couldn’t possibly sleep in the same bed with Chi Ye now. He breathed a sigh of relief, thinking this was good, it avoided embarrassment.

While he was showering, Su Shi’s phone had already rung twice.

One was from Little Jie, and the other was a strange number with an IP address indicating it was from East Su.

Su Shi was about to return Little Jie’s call when he suddenly heard Chi Ye say, “I’m going to take a shower. I ordered some ginger soup from the hotel. I’ll get it when it arrives.”

Su Shi couldn’t help but be stunned, then responded with a “Okay.”

Chi Ye was still so considerate, but Su Shi unconsciously interpreted this thoughtfulness as something else.

Alas, he just couldn’t accept Chi Ye’s kindness with the same carefree attitude as before.

Little Jie was calling about work. Su Shi said a few words to him and hung up, then dialed the other strange number back.

    “Hello, who is this?”

“Hello, Su Shi! Oh, I thought you didn’t want to talk to me since you didn’t answer the phone just now!”

The voice was a bit familiar. Su Shi was sure he knew the person, but he couldn’t remember who it was for a moment, so he quickly searched his memory.

The other person couldn’t wait and said, “It’s Liao Tong.”

Su Shi finally matched the person with the name. Liao Tong was his university classmate, and they had a good relationship back then.

Su Shi said with some surprise, “Liao Tong, is that really you? You’re actually in East Su?”

It turned out that Liao Tong saw the post Su Shi made today, knowing that Su Shi was in East Su, so he tried to contact him.

Classmates always have a special bond. Su Shi chatted with Liao Tong, reminiscing about the past.

Su Shi learned that another classmate, Chu Tianming, was also in East Su. Chu Tianming was a little more distant from Su Shi, but they had played basketball together. Liao Tong suggested calling Chu Tianming to come out together, and they could all get together tomorrow.

Su Shi said okay. The purpose of this business trip was to work and relax at the same time. It was such a coincidence that he could meet old classmates, so why not see them?

Liao Tong and a friend jointly opened a game company. Liao Tong said that Chu Tianming was working as a customer manager at a bank.

There were always endless topics to talk about between classmates, discussing the past and the present. This phone call continued until Chi Ye finished showering and still wasn’t over.

Su Shi changed his silence when facing Chi Ye today, talking eloquently and laughing cheerfully with Liao Tong, not even having time to drink the ginger soup that the hotel had sent over.

Chi Ye had actually finished showering a long time ago, but he silently washed both his and Su Shi’s clothes that they had taken off inside.

Listening to Su Shi talking and laughing with others outside, Chi Ye wished that Su Shi could treat him like that too.

When Su Shi saw Chi Ye coming out with his clothes in his hand, already washed, he hurriedly told Liao Tong that he would see him tomorrow and hung up the phone.

Su Shi was dumbfounded, “What are you doing with my clothes?”

Chi Ye acted frankly, hanging them on hangers while saying, “I accidentally got your clothes wet, so I washed them together.”

When he saw Chi Ye shaking out a pair of white underwear, Su Shi’s face instantly burned up, “You, you even washed this?”

“This got wet too,” Chi Ye said.

Su Shi wanted to say, “Are you doing this on purpose, getting all my clothes wet?”

Helping to wash clothes, even including underwear, was too much. Su Shi was completely speechless, awkward, weird, and uncomfortable all over.

    Ah, how frustrating.

Su Shi opened his mouth, but he was at a loss for words.

Chi Ye enjoyed seeing Su Shi’s defeated expression and deliberately added, “I’ve washed them before anyway.”

Su Shi’s eyes widened instantly, “When?”

He didn’t seem to remember. Last time at the resort, the hotel had a washing machine, and Su Shi threw his clothes in to wash them.

Chi Ye just smiled and didn’t say anything, intentionally wanting Su Shi to guess.

Su Shi thought for a moment and suddenly realized, could it have been at home?

Su Shi was never proactive about doing housework. He sometimes washed his clothes every two days, and sometimes he forgot to dry them after putting them in the washing machine, which meant he had to wash them again.

The floor at home was cleaned by a robot vacuum cleaner, and an hourly worker was hired once a week for a major cleaning.

Su Shi’s only strength was organization, categorizing his clothes and shoes and tidying them up very neatly.

Su Shi even forgot how his clothes were washed when Chi Ye lived at his house.

Now that he recalled it, it was true that since Chi Ye came, he didn’t seem to have taken care of washing clothes anymore.

Two men living together would definitely wash their clothes together.

If Chi Ye said that, could it be that his clothes were always hand-washed by Chi Ye back then?

At this time, Chi Ye had already hung up all the clothes, “Do you remember now?”

Chi Ye sat down on the small sofa, propping his chin up and looking at Su Shi.

Su Shi felt a little guilty. He was so carefree before.

However, Su Shi was unwilling to admit it, “That’s because you wanted to wash them, I didn’t ask you to wash them. You have a washing machine but you didn’t use it, you were just making things difficult for yourself.”

“Not really, I just like washing your clothes.”

    “You’re sick.”

Su Shi’s face inexplicably felt a little hot.

The phone rang again, another strange number with an IP address still from East Su.

Liao Tong just said that he gave Su Shi’s number to Chu Tianming, so it should be Chu Tianming.

This call came in time, breaking Su Shi’s embarrassment.

Su Shi turned his back to answer the phone. As expected, it was Chu Tianming.

Su Shi wasn’t as familiar with Chu Tianming as he was with Liao Tong, so they didn’t chat as warmly.

Chu Tianming wasn’t as career-minded as Liao Tong, asking mostly about work-related issues. Chu Tianming asked about Su Shi’s relationship status.

Chu Tianming knew that Su Shi had a boyfriend because he had seen Xu Chongming pick up Su Shi when they played basketball together before.

This wasn’t a big deal. Su Shi told him the truth.

    “Yeah, we broke up.”

    “I’m single now.”

“There’s no particular reason, we just weren’t suitable.”

If he asked any more questions, Su Shi wouldn’t say anything else.

Chu Tianming said he could introduce someone, he knew some good candidates.

Su Shi said no, he wasn’t considering it for the time being.

Just then, a shadow fell over Su Shi’s eyes. He looked up and saw Chi Ye holding ginger soup in front of him. “Su Shi, come and drink the ginger soup.”

As soon as Chu Tianming heard this, he asked Su Shi, “Didn’t you say you were at the hotel? There’s someone in the room.”

Su Shi had no choice but to say it was a friend, blaming Chi Ye for not understanding the situation.

Chi Ye urged again, “Su Shi, drink it quickly.”

Su Shi glared at Chi Ye unhappily, but fearing that he would say something else, he had no choice but to gulp down the ginger soup.

The ginger soup was strong and burned his throat. Su Shi angrily put the bowl back in Chi Ye’s hand.

Only then did Chi Ye smile and walk away.

Su Shi felt that Chi Ye was doing it on purpose.

Chu Tianming didn’t have much sense of boundaries, always asking questions that made others uncomfortable. Su Shi ended the call under the pretext of going to sleep.
