    Chapter 88: Two Slaps

Two men kissing in public was too explosive for the students present, who were swept up in the moment and began to applaud. “Kiss! Kiss!”

Su Shi moved closer to the president of the student association, who was so scared that he strategically retreated, nearly losing his balance, completely lacking the bravado he had shown earlier.

    “Don’t hide,” someone teased.

The president stammered, “Who, who’s hiding?”

Su Shi then moved even closer, the distance between them only about the size of a fist.

The president screamed inwardly, “Heavens, someone come save me!”

Suddenly, a great force pushed him violently onto the sofa.

Chi Ye pushed through the crowd, hooked Su Shi, and kissed him.

The president patted his chest, exchanging a look with Chen Zihan.

Someone had finally lost their patience.

Originally, a quick kiss would have sufficed as the dare, but Chi Ye didn’t stop there. He kissed deeper and deeper, even trying to pry open Su Shi’s lips.

Su Shi didn’t want to be watched by so many people, so he pinched Chi Ye’s arm hard.

Chi Ye finally regained a sliver of reason and let go of Su Shi.

The surrounding people became as quiet as chickens. Apart from the music, no one spoke.

Everyone’s internal thoughts could be described as a kaleidoscope of emotions.

“Holy crap, what did I just see?”

“I never would have guessed, Chi Ye likes guys.”

“Could these two have been a couple all along?”

“Who am I, where am I, what’s going on? I should be under the car, not in the car, seeing how sweet they are.” Someone had already started singing.

Only the parties involved, Chi Ye and Su Shi, seemed detached. But if you looked closely, you could see that Chi Ye’s ears were a little red.

Chen Zihan broke the awkward silence. “Alright, alright, no more games, let’s get back to singing.”

The others cooperated and dispersed. The sound of singing filled the room again, but no one had forgotten the exciting scene from earlier.

Su Shi sang two more songs, then turned around to find Chi Ye was gone.

Feeling a little bored, he decided to go outside for some fresh air.

In the KTV lobby, there was a fish pond filled with goldfish. Su Shi stood by the pond, watching the fish.

A familiar set of footsteps came from behind. Turning around, it was indeed Chi Ye.

Chi Ye quickly walked up to Su Shi and pulled him away without a word.

    “Where are we going?”

Chi Ye seemed unusually agitated, and Su Shi resisted slightly.

Then, Chi Ye pulled him into an elevator.

Chi Ye swiped a card and pressed a floor number: 28.

Su Shi didn’t quite understand what Chi Ye was doing. He rubbed his wrist, which had been hurt, and asked again, “Where are we going?”

Chi Ye didn’t speak, only stared intently at him.

Su Shi felt a little guilty, wondering if he had provoked Chi Ye earlier.

Soon, they reached the 28th floor. Chi Ye dragged Su Shi out of the elevator.

Su Shi then realized they were in a hotel, filled with guest rooms.

Chi Ye swiped a card to open a room and pushed Su Shi inside.

Before he could insert the card into the slot to turn on the lights, he pinned Su Shi against the door and kissed him.

This time, Su Shi didn’t resist.

He let Chi Ye kiss him completely, his hands unconsciously wrapping around Chi Ye’s waist.

Chi Ye kissed even deeper, beginning to unbutton Su Shi’s shirt.

The front of his shirt opened, and Chi Ye buried his face in Su Shi’s neck, sucking and leaving light kisses.

In the darkness, the sense of touch was magnified tenfold.

Su Shi’s head was spinning from the kisses. He threaded his fingers through Chi Ye’s hair and pulled him away. “Explain yourself, or don’t touch me.”

Su Shi wanted Chi Ye to admit, with his own mouth, that the words he said that day were all lies. This was very important to him.

Chi Ye paused, then wedged a leg between Su Shi’s, pressing their bodies closer together. He buried his face in Su Shi’s chest.

Su Shi didn’t want to be in the dark like this. He used more force to pull Chi Ye’s head up. “Explain yourself.”

Chi Ye was pulled away, panting in Su Shi’s ear.

Su Shi grabbed the front of Chi Ye’s shirt, waiting for him to speak.

Finally, he heard Chi Ye’s low voice, “I don’t want to break up with you.”

But that wasn’t enough. “What else?”

“I wasn’t insincere with you.” Chi Ye added.

Su Shi was still not satisfied. “What else?”

    “I don’t not love you.”

Still not satisfied, Su Shi continued to press, “What else?”

“I didn’t treat you as a trophy to show off to others.”

Su Shi was still not satisfied, his voice turning cold, “I’m not someone you can summon and dismiss whenever you want.”

“No,” Chi Ye cupped Su Shi’s face, telling him solemnly, “You’re not.”

Su Shi lowered his eyes, sighed, and said with some disappointment, “If you don’t say anything else, I’m leaving.”

Then Chi Ye kissed him again, from his forehead to his nose, eyes, cheeks, chin, and finally his lips. He said something after each kiss.

    “I love you.”

    “I love you very much.”

    “I can’t live without you.”

“Grandfather saw through my act and discovered our relationship. He will harm you.”

“I don’t want you to get hurt.”

“I’ll bear all the consequences myself. I want you to be happy.”

Su Shi finally heard what he wanted to hear, but he didn’t feel any emotion. Instead, he felt extremely angry. He suddenly pulled away and slapped Chi Ye hard across the face.

The sound of the slap was exceptionally crisp in the pitch-black hotel room, where the lights were off and the curtains were tightly drawn.

Su Shi said through gritted teeth, “You said I could slap you if I wanted to vent.”

Chi Ye’s left cheek burned. “Yes. You can hit me again if you’re still angry.”

So, Su Shi slapped him again.

    Another crisp slap.

Su Shi used all his strength, turning Chi Ye’s face to the other side.

“You bastard, do you think you’re being noble?”

Chi Ye lowered his head and took the scolding, not daring to say a word.

“You’re afraid your grandfather will use some means to hurt me, so you deliberately break up with me. Don’t you think that’s childish? Do you think I’m useless? Am I so incompetent that I can’t handle anything?”

Chi Ye shook his head vehemently, even though it was probably impossible to see in the darkness. “No, don’t say that about yourself.”

“You’re so great, wanting to protect me, not wanting me to get hurt. But did you ever think that, compared to other kinds of harm, it hurts me even more when you, someone I’m passionately in love with, suddenly says you don’t love me anymore, that everything before was fake.”

Chi Ye’s eyes welled up, but thankfully Su Shi couldn’t see. He quickly wiped them away. “I’m sorry.”

“I’m a man, a real man, not some weakling who hides behind others and needs to be protected. You’re insulting me by doing this.”

Chi Ye cupped his face and kissed him. “I didn’t mean to, I know you’re not.”

“The person who followed me home from the gym was you, right?”

    Chi Ye admitted, “Yes.”

“The person who called my trainer back to buy 200 private lessons was you, right?”

    “Yes.”

Su Shi punched Chi Ye with each question.

“The person who sat in the corner watching me while I was drinking with my friends at the bar was you, right?”

    “Yes.”

“The person who sneaked into my house in the middle of the night and molested me while I was drunk was you, right?”

Chi Ye didn’t answer immediately. He was silent.

Su Shi chuckled. “Don’t think I don’t know. You left a mark on my waist, you bastard.”

Chi Ye’s throat tightened. “Yes, I’m a bastard.”

Su Shi pulled Chi Ye’s head down. “If I really gave up on you, you wouldn’t be able to get me back. Do you want to try?”

Chi Ye was terrified. “No, I don’t want to.”
