Chapter 86: Pretending to be Strangers

The celebration banquet was arranged at a restaurant outside the school. It wasn’t high-end, but it was clean and tidy.

Chi Ye originally didn’t want to come. Su Shi had a gym class that evening, and he planned to go and keep an eye on him again.

The road Su Shi walked home from the gym was Chi Ye’s only chance to get close.

But Chen Zihan insisted that Chi Ye had to go, and even said she had a surprise prepared for him.

Those attending the celebration banquet were all key members of the Computer Society, about ten people in total.

Chen Zihan deliberately left a seat between herself and Chi Ye for Su Shi. Someone asked if there was anyone else coming. Chen Zihan glanced at Chi Ye and said yes. When asked who it was, Chen Zihan only said it was her friend.

Chen Zihan kept her head down, sending messages. The president asked how long before her friend would arrive, as the dishes were about to be served.

Chen Zihan had just received a message from Su Shi saying he was already downstairs.

So she stood up and replied to the president, “He’s here, I’ll go pick him up.”

Chen Zihan hurried downstairs and met Su Shi at the entrance of the restaurant.

Su Shi said apologetically, “Sorry, I’m late.”

Chen Zihan said cheerfully that it was okay, the dishes hadn’t been served yet, and told Su Shi, “Chi Ye looks utterly hopeless right now. He’ll definitely be full of energy when he sees you come.”

Su Shi felt a faint sense of anticipation.

The private room was upstairs, and the stairs could be seen through the open window.

Chi Ye glanced outside and saw Su Shi following behind Chen Zihan. He froze, thinking he was seeing things.

It wasn’t until Chen Zihan brought the person in that Chi Ye came to his senses. It really was Su Shi.

Chen Zihan smiled and glanced at Chi Ye, introducing to everyone, “This is my friend, his surname is Su.”

Then she said to Su Shi, “Sit next to me, over there.”

“Okay.”

Chen Zihan’s side was also Chi Ye’s side. Su Shi walked over and sat down.

Chen Zihan had once asked Chi Ye why she hadn’t seen him going to find his boyfriend recently. Chi Ye said they had had a bit of a disagreement and hadn’t made up yet.

Chen Zihan was a very enthusiastic girl. Chi Ye was now the darling of their Computer Society, so she had to help.

So, when she ran into Su Shi at the supermarket, Chen Zihan immediately extended an invitation, asking Su Shi to come to the award ceremony and do her best to bring the two of them back together.

When Su Shi sat down next to him, Chi Ye’s breathing became lighter.

Out of habit, he picked up the bowl and chopsticks in front of Su Shi and carefully rinsed them with boiling water, then poured him a cup of tea.

The others, including Chi Ye himself, weren’t so particular. They didn’t rinse their bowls and chopsticks, but just took them and started eating.

Moreover, Chi Ye was usually aloof and didn’t talk much. No one expected him to be so “caring” towards this friend of Chen Zihan.

Especially Chen Zihan, who smiled like a flower, “See, who dares to say that Chi Ye is aloof and unapproachable in the future?”

Someone chimed in, “Yeah, yeah.”

Su Shi, however, pretended to be unfamiliar, took the tea that Chi Ye poured, and politely said thank you.

This indifference and aloofness made Chi Ye feel very uncomfortable.

Su Shi was laughing inwardly, wondering who could act better!

The food was delicious, and the university students chatted freely, taking good care of Su Shi as an outsider.

The topic slowly turned to Chi Ye.

One of the girls teased Chi Ye, saying, “Chi Ye, you’re famous at school now. You might receive a lot of confessions later, so be prepared.”

Another girl said, “Yeah, yeah, I heard several girls getting restless under the stage during the award ceremony.”

The president also joined in, “Chi Ye, what kind of person do you like?”

Chen Zihan smiled without saying a word, and said to Su Shi, “Eat your vegetables.”

Everyone immediately understood. These characteristics were clearly describing someone specific, so he must have someone he likes.

Su Shi pretended not to hear and focused on eating.

This worried Chen Zihan greatly. These young lovers shouldn’t be having disagreements. They should quickly make up and be lovey-dovey.

Someone suggested going to KTV to sing, and several people agreed, suggesting the name of a KTV.

Su Shi remembered that it was the one Chen Cheng had gone to last time.

Because Su Shi was here as a friend of Chen Zihan’s, she couldn’t call him Mr. Su anymore, so Chen Zihan naturally changed her address.
