    Chapter 81: Playing with Feelings

For a moment, Su Shi couldn’t believe his ears. He wondered if he hadn’t slept well last night and was hallucinating.

Chi Ye said that Su Shi was just a trophy in his competition with Xu Chongming. Chi Ye said he wasn’t serious about Su Shi and that they would break up soon.

That’s what Chi Ye actually thought.

Were all those past affections and pursuits just an act?

Su Shi then remembered, Chi Ye was very good at acting.

Initially, Chi Ye was well-behaved, considerate, and gentle, like a boy next door who made people drop their guard.

Later, Chi Ye gradually revealed his domineering and stubborn side. Su Shi didn’t think that was bad, after all, everyone has multiple facets.

But now, Chi Ye was playing with his feelings; he was ascumbag.

Su Shi’s self-preservation instincts kicked in, and he subconsciously wanted to escape, as if as long as he left this place, he wouldn’t hear these things, and Chi Ye wouldn’t be a scumbag.

Su Shi ran into the fire escape in a flustered manner, staggering down three floors, and suddenly stopped.

No, that’s not right, Chi Ye is not that kind of person.

Su Shi leaned his back against the wall. The tiles on the wall were icy cold, and a chill permeated through his clothes.

His heart was pounding wildly, Su Shi gasped for breath, barely pulling back a shred of reason from the abyss.

Calming down to think, many details of their interactions were vivid in his mind; they couldn’t be faked.

If Su Shi admitted that he misjudged Xu Chongming in the beginning, he was absolutely sure that he hadn’t misjudged Chi Ye now.

No, he couldn’t just leave like this, he had to find Chi Ye and ask him face to face.

He couldn’t be like those characters in TV dramas, who don’t speak up because of a small misunderstanding, and end up in an irretrievable situation.

That was too stupid, and it was the kind of plot Su Shi despised the most.

Chi Xiangqin patted Chi Ye on the shoulder, his gaze sweeping around the several surveillance cameras on the wall. “Don’t play petty tricks anymore, these are all things I’ve already done to death.”

The sentence contained both a warning and a deterrent.

Chi Ye lowered his eyes, his attitude extremely docile. “Okay.”

Chi Xiangqin’s tone was calm, but with an unquestionable authority. “I’ll go stay at the hotel. You break up with that man as soon as possible.”

Chi Ye was like a puppet without independent thought, only able to obey. “Okay.”

Chi Xiangqin nodded with satisfaction and left with his trusted butler.

While waiting for the elevator at the elevator doors, Chi Xiangqin stroked the shiny dragon head of his cane, his eyes slightly narrowed. “This little brat has a lot on his mind.”

The butler nodded and bowed beside him. “You were a legend back in the day, and the young master is your grandson. Of course, he won’t be lacking.”

Chi Xiangqin coldly laughed. “He’s stronger than his father, but I’m afraid he’s too strong. He might not listen to me then.”

The butler had been with Chi Xiangqin for over twenty years, trying to figure out Chi Xiangqin’s thoughts. He said ambiguously, “A grandson will always be a grandson, and a grandfather will always be a grandfather.”

Chi Xiangqin’s face was sculpted by the years, giving off an imposing presence even without anger. He merely raised his eyes and glanced at the butler, who immediately felt chills down his spine, wondering if he had misjudged him.

However, Chi Xiangqin just tapped the ground lightly with his cane. “Are you sure that man heard it outside?”

From the moment Su Shi appeared downstairs in the apartment building, Chi Xiangqin’s people had been watching him and notified the butler.

The butler nodded. “Confirmed. I deliberately left a crack in the door.”

The elevator arrived. Chi Xiangqin stepped in, and the butler followed behind. After the elevator doors closed, he pressed the floor button.

Chi Xiangqin continued the previous topic. “Very good, this way he won’t have a choice but to break up.”

Chi Xiangqin had watched Chi Ye grow up, and he knew how much of what he said was true and how much was false.

Although he didn’t think Chi Ye would sincerely fall in love with a man, he had to eliminate that possibility.

Chi Shen was Chi Xiangqin’s biggest failure in this life; he was nothing like him.

It seemed that the wrong woman was chosen, which directly affected the offspring. That woman was like that, falling in love with someone else and leaving without looking back, abandoning him and their several-year-old son.

Later, she wanted to come back to see Chi Shen, but Chi Xiangqin drove her away.

He heard that a few years later, that woman died of illness.

Chi Xiangqin felt very happy when he learned this news. She deserved it!

But he didn’t expect that being a love brain could be hereditary. Chi Shen was the same as his mother, putting love above everything else. Abandoning the large family fortune, he insisted on marrying a poor woman and having children, and eventually died an unnatural death.

Thinking of Chi Shen, Chi Xiangqin easily felt palpitations.

Chi Shen had no temper and no wolfishness in him. Chi Xiangqin always felt that it was because he had been too lenient in Chi Shen’s education.

Therefore, he used a different educational method on Chi Ye, one that was completely opposite to Chi Shen’s, to stimulate the wolfishness in Chi Ye.

So far, Chi Ye was stronger than Chi Shen. He already had the ability to fight with Chi Xiangqin and knew how to be patient and disguise himself.

Chi Xiangqin was very satisfied with this “work,” and he was feeling proud when he suddenly felt a little numbness in his limbs, accompanied by dizziness and blurred vision.

As soon as the elevator doors opened, Chi Xiangqin stumbled forward, but fortunately, the butler caught him.

Chi Ye rubbed his face. It was a misstep. He thought he could deceive everyone, but he didn’t expect to expose himself.

Now that he had attracted Chi Xiangqin’s attention, he couldn’t live openly at Su Shi’s home anymore.

Chi Ye was pondering solutions to this pile of problems when he heard someone knocking on the door.

Chi Ye instantly became vigilant, wondering if Chi Xiangqin had returned, but he quickly dismissed that idea. Impossible, that wasn’t Chi Xiangqin’s style.

When Chi Ye saw who was at the door through the peephole, he took a sharp breath.

Chi Ye immediately opened the door and saw that Su Shi’s eyes were red-rimmed. He resisted the urge to pull the person into his arms and crush him.

No, there were surveillance cameras in the room, and Chi Xiangqin could see everything.

Why did Su Shi come at this time? And why were his eyes red?

Su Shi opened his mouth, his voice dry. “Chi Ye, I heard what you said to your grandfather just now.”

Chi Ye felt like he had been struck by lightning. He prayed in his heart that Su Shi wouldn’t misunderstand, please don’t misunderstand. How could I not love you?

Chi Ye had been facing away from the door, and hadn’t realized that the door was ajar.

Then, there was only one possibility: Chi Xiangqin had intentionally let Su Shi hear their conversation.

Chi Xiangqin didn’t believe that Chi Ye would break up with Su Shi as he said he would.

Chi Ye was extremely regretful. He was too overconfident, thinking that his wings were almost fully grown and that he had the ability to break free from Chi Xiangqin’s control.

He didn’t expect that the old ginger was still spicier, and Chi Xiangqin had easily grabbed his weakness.

“You only see me as a trophy in your competition with Xu Chongming. You’re not serious about me. You’ll break up with me soon. Is all this true?” Su Shi’s tone was very light, but it was easy to hear a trace of sadness.

Chi Ye’s heart trembled. “Su Shi, let me explain.”

Suddenly, the phone in his hand made a message notification sound. Chi Ye didn’t have time to open and look at it, but the next second, the ringtone rang. It was Chi Xiangqin.

Chi Ye turned his head and glanced at the surveillance camera facing the door and answered the phone. “Hello.”

A few seconds later, Chi Ye hung up the phone and, as instructed by Chi Xiangqin, opened the message on his phone.

【Break up with him now, make a clean break, I’m watching you】

    【I heard he has a studio, right?】
