    Chapter 8: Injured

    “Are you alright?”

Chi Ye squatted down next to Su Shi, looking at him with concern.

Su Shi met Chi Ye’s eyes. Those eyes were dark and bright, very deep, and seemed to contain something within.

“I’m fine, just a little scratch.” Su Shi tried to speak in a relaxed tone, but it was actually quite painful. A small piece of skin had been scraped off by the iron frame, leaving a bloody mark on the back of his foot.

But he was a man, and shouldn’t be so delicate. Besides, he wanted to maintain his image in this kid’s eyes.

Without a word, Chi Ye took off the cotton pajamas he was wearing and, using the small section of the iron frame that had just injured Su Shi, tore a strip of cloth with a ripping sound and used it to bandage Su Shi’s foot.

Su Shi opened his mouth, intending to stop Chi Ye from doing this, wanting to say that it would be fine to deal with it when they got back and there was no need to waste a piece of clothing. But Chi Ye was too quick, and Su Shi could only swallow the words back down, so as not to waste his good intentions.

Su Shi’s gaze inevitably fell on Chi Ye’s upper body. He didn’t expect Chi Ye to have abs at such a young age. Although there weren’t the obvious eight-pack, the six-pack that was just beginning to take shape was really rare.

Looking at himself, Su Shi felt his abs that only appeared a little when he took a deep breath and sucked in his stomach, and immediately felt extremely frustrated.

It seemed that he had to find the annual gym card and use it, he couldn’t be worse than Chi Ye.

The competitive spirit of men is sometimes so strange.

Chi Ye didn’t know that Su Shi still had time to let his imagination run wild at this time. After bandaging him, he squatted in front of Su Shi. “Get on, I’ll carry you.”

“No need, it’s not that serious.” Su Shi really wasn’t that seriously injured, his foot wasn’t sprained, and he could still walk, it was just a little painful.

Glancing around, Su Shi saw many scars on Chi Ye’s back. Judging from the shape of the scars, they were all old injuries, marked by the indelible traces of time.

Who caused these injuries? Su Shi was a little curious.

“Get on, it’s not good for you to wear shoes.” Chi Ye interrupted Su Shi’s train of thought.

“No need, your back…” Su Shi struggled to stand up from the ground. Chi Ye got up to help him, and Su Shi finally stood up straight.

It probably wasn’t a good memory, and Su Shi shouldn’t have asked, but he felt that Chi Ye was so well-behaved, he shouldn’t have been treated like this.

Chi Ye asked carelessly, “Is it very ugly?”

Su Shi hurriedly said, “Not ugly, have you heard? A man’s scars are his medals.”

Chi Ye shook his head and laughed self-deprecatingly. “The scars on a soldier’s body are medals, mine were made by my grandfather with a cane, all proof of my disobedience.”

Chi Ye, who was so well-behaved, was actually beaten so much, Su Shi felt unable to understand, and complained, “Your grandfather is too fierce.”

“Grandpa is stricter with me, he’s doing it for my own good.”

Su Shi looked into Chi Ye’s eyes, as if he could see into his heart, “Does it hurt? I mean, back then.”

After asking, Su Shi felt like an idiot again, how could it not hurt.

Of course it hurt back then when it was bloody, but Chi Ye said indifferently, “It doesn’t hurt, it just looks scary, I might be prone to scarring.”

Su Shi didn’t want Chi Ye to carry him, so Chi Ye had to put the shoes on Su Shi’s feet, so he could walk on them, and then put one of Su Shi’s arms on his shoulder, supporting him, and slowly walked towards the car.

Su Shi got into the passenger seat, and Chi Ye leaned in to help him fasten his seat belt.

The distance was very close, and Su Shi smelled the scent of Chi Ye’s body wash, which seemed very similar to his own. But it was very strange, because the body wash he bought and put in the downstairs bathroom was different from his.

Chi Ye helped buckle the seat belt, went around the front of the car, and got into the driver’s seat.

“Chi Ye, I have clothes in the trunk, you can put them on first.”

Su Shi always kept clothes in the trunk, in case of emergency, and now it could come in handy.

Although the weather was hot now, and they were both men, it wouldn’t be a big deal to be shirtless, but if you got caught by a camera while driving without a shirt, it would be quite embarrassing.

Hearing this, Chi Ye opened the car door, got out of the car, and started rummaging in the trunk.

There were two sets of clothes in the trunk, one more formal and one sportswear.

Chi Ye naturally chose sportswear, and when he put it on, he found it was a little short.

Chi Ye returned to the car, quickly started the car, and drove away from here.

Su Shi saw how his clothes looked on Chi Ye and turned his head to the window, holding back his laughter.

“Laugh if you want to.” Chi Ye said quietly.

Su Shi turned his head back and praised, “Haha, you look really good in my clothes.”

Chi Ye imperceptibly twitched the corner of his mouth, “It’s a bit slim fit.”

Su Shi pursed his lips tightly, so he wouldn’t laugh out loud again.

Chi Ye opened his mouth and asked, “By the way, has the trouble been resolved?”

“Not yet.” Su Shi’s tone was melancholy, “But I boasted to the client that I would definitely get it done.”

    “Well, you definitely can.”

Su Shi felt that Chi Ye was an angel-like boy, with his emotional value maxed out. “I’ll think about it tomorrow, I’m tired.”

Chi Ye concentrated on driving, “Take a good rest.”

Back home, Su Shi was drowsy and wanted to go upstairs to sleep, but was stopped by Chi Ye.

“Wait, treat the wound before going up.”

Su Shi’s eyes were almost open, he said “Oh” and went back to lie down on the sofa.

Chi Ye found the medicine box from the cabinet, sat on the ground, put Su Shi’s feet on his legs, and carefully unwrapped the cloth strip.

Su Shi’s feet were very white, the back of his foot was bony, and his toes were round. The dried wound was stretched across, adding a bit of pity to his feet.

Chi Ye threw the bloody cloth strip into the trash can and carefully used iodine to clean and disinfect the wound.

Su Shi closed his eyes, and the iodine touching the wound made him reflexively shrink his feet, and he muttered “It hurts” in a low voice.

Chi Ye quickly grabbed his ankle to prevent him from moving again. “It’ll be over soon.”

Su Shi left a slit in his eyes, watching while sleeping, just enough to see Chi Ye with his head down, seriously treating his wound.

He remembered the last person who treated him so gently was his mother. Su Shi wanted to engrave this scene firmly in his heart, but he was really sleepy. Before being pulled into the dream, he murmured, “Mom.”

Chi Ye suddenly looked up, but saw that Su Shi was already asleep, breathing steadily, probably just talking in his sleep.

Chi Ye couldn’t empathize because Chi Ye had never seen his mother since birth. As for how much emotion he had, there really wasn’t any.

The word “mother” was just a title to Chi Ye.

Chi Ye skillfully bandaged Su Shi’s foot, put away the medicine box, and stood beside him, looking at Su Shi lying sprawled on the sofa, shaking his head helplessly.

Carrying Su Shi upstairs made Chi Ye break out in a thin sweat. He put him in bed, adjusted the air conditioner temperature, and Chi Ye turned and went downstairs.
