    Chapter 64: Always Holding

Sunshine filled the windowsill as Su Shi slowly woke up. His body recovering, Su Shi lifted the covers and found he was wearing Chi Ye’s pajamas.

On the bedside table, a sticky note was affixed to the lampshade of the small lamp, bearing Chi Ye’s handwriting.

“Breakfast is warming in the pot, remember to eat it.”

    The signature read: “Your boyfriend.”

Su Shi couldn’t help but curl the corner of his mouth, then he turned over and got out of bed, his movements a little stiff as he supported his waist.

As he climbed the stairs, Su Shi couldn’t help but curse Chi Ye several times in his heart.

Damn it, no sense of restraint.

So, you’re a grown man, huh? You’re so capable.

To prevent anyone from noticing anything unusual, Su Shi decided to skip work today.

Su Shi finished washing up and came downstairs to eat breakfast. The fragrant and soft glutinous pumpkin porridge was neither too thick nor too thin, just right, light, and nourishing for the stomach.

After breakfast, Su Shi felt lazy all over. His body didn’t seem to have fully recovered, and he dozed off on the sofa.

Song Qingyan happened to call with something to discuss and immediately sensed something was off when she heard Su Shi’s unusual voice.

Su Shi confessed after being pressed.

“Yes, Chi Ye and I are together.”

    “Yes, we slept together.”

    “Yes, it was pretty good.”

On the other end of the phone, Song Qingyan exploded.

“I knew it, I knew it! Isn’t there a saying? A grown man is full of vigor, and that thing is harder than a diamond.”

Su Shi was speechless. With his hoarse voice, nothing he said would sound convincing.

Chi Ye had classes in the morning and wouldn’t be back until the afternoon.

Throughout the morning, he sent Su Shi countless messages, all sickeningly sweet and cheesy to death.

Su Shi discovered a very complex personality in Chi Ye, a fusion of multiple traits that formed a complicated Chi Ye.

Su Shi’s replies to Chi Ye were brief, but this didn’t affect Chi Ye’s enthusiasm.

Su Shi’s phone kept ringing, non-stop.

Su Shi thought, this was probably the normal honeymoon phase that Song Qingyan talked about.

When Chi Ye returned, Su Shi was still lying on the sofa, his face pressed against abàozhěn – bolster.

He was still wearing Chi Ye’s pajamas, and Chi Ye couldn’t help but feel happy when he saw him.

    “I’m back, I bought food.”

    “Okay.”

Chi Ye went over and touched Su Shi’s forehead. “Do you have a fever?”

That time in the bathroom, the two of them had been intimate, without any barriers.

Afterwards, Su Shi scolded Chi Ye for being reckless.

Chi Ye took responsibility for his actions and handled everything diligently, without complaint.

    Su Shi “Mmm”-ed again, “No.”

“Then why are you so listless?”

Su Shi didn’t know, he just wanted to lie down.

Chi Ye put his hand on Su Shi’s waist. “Sore?”

    “Kind of.”

    “What about there?”

Su Shi’s face flushed, feeling ashamed, and eager to prove himself, he sat up. “Ah, I’m fine, I’m not that delicate.”

It was good that he was okay; Chi Ye was relieved.

Su Shi felt that Chi Ye probably had a serious problem, wanting to hold him all the time, even making him sit on his lap while eating.

Su Shi refused, and Chi Ye said in a complaining tone, “I need to adjust a little. Or are you saying that as your boyfriend, I can’t even do this small thing for you?”

“I’m the one who needs to adjust, I guess,” Su Shi thought.

“Okay, okay, it’s not a big deal, hug away.”

Su Shi sat on Chi Ye’s lap to eat, feeling somewhat lifeless.

Chi Ye conjured up a Polaroid camera from somewhere and wanted to take a photo with Su Shi.

Su Shi was still wearing Chi Ye’s pajamas, his hair unstyled, and he was covered in rejection.

But Chi Ye insisted on taking the photo and wouldn’t let Su Shi go upstairs to change.

Su Shi had no choice but to hide behind Chi Ye, letting Chi Ye block half of his face, resting his chin on Chi Ye’s shoulder.

The two smiled at the camera, and with a click, the Polaroid quickly spat out a photo.

Unexpectedly, it looked pretty good. Chi Ye’s features in the front could withstand scrutiny, and Su Shi only showed half of his face, revealing a natural handsomeness.

Chi Ye took many more photos afterwards, letting Su Shi choose two of the most satisfying ones.

Actually, they all looked similar, so Su Shi randomly picked two.

Then, Chi Ye conjured up a photo frame from somewhere and put the photos Su Shi had chosen inside.

It was quite ceremonial, as expected of a little boy.

Then, Su Shi saw Chi Ye put the photo frame on the TV cabinet.

“Is it pretty? Does it match?” Chi Ye asked Su Shi.

The photo frame was in the “ins” style and did look quite fitting there.

    But…

Su Shi suddenly remembered that his and Xu Chongming’s photo had been in that very spot before.

He hadn’t noticed when the photo frame had disappeared. Su Shi remembered that he hadn’t thrown it away.

Chi Ye had barged in too forcefully and quickly, pulling him into a new emotional whirlpool before Su Shi had time to mourn the previous relationship for long.

Chi Ye tidied up Su Shi’s work documents spread out on the coffee table and put them aside, then sat back down next to Su Shi, hugging him again.

“Don’t work this afternoon, rest a bit. I’ll watch a movie with you.”

All the work that needed to be done had been completed, so Su Shi agreed to the suggestion. “Okay.”

Chi Ye catered to Su Shi’s little habits and would comment and joke around with him.

Su Shi’s eyes unconsciously fell on Chi Ye’s face while watching the movie. Chi Ye’s front view was handsome, but his profile was even more unbeatable.

Looking at the details, Chi Ye was indeed different from Xu Chongming. Xu Chongming said how much he loved Su Shi, but he would never completely quit smoking. He also wouldn’t tolerate Su Shi’s habit of talking while watching movies.

Just as he paused for a few seconds, Su Shi received a kiss from Chi Ye.

After separating, Su Shi wiped his mouth and said displeased, “Don’t kiss.”

Chi Ye tightened his grip on Su Shi’s waist. “Why look at me if you’re not watching the movie? I thought you wanted me to kiss you.”

    “We kissed too much yesterday.”

The implication was not to kiss today.

But ever since Chi Ye had the title of “boyfriend,” he became less polite, kissing Su Shi whenever he wanted without permission.

If Su Shi resisted even slightly, Chi Ye would use “It’s the right of a boyfriend” as an argument to invalidate the protest, leaving Su Shi both helpless and speechless.

Su Shi had bought them new phones together, the same brand but different colors.

But later, Chi Ye secretly switched his to the same color as Su Shi’s.

So, as a result, Su Shi mistakenly picked up Chi Ye’s phone.

When he turned on the phone, the screensaver was a photo of Su Shi sleeping. Su Shi knew immediately that he had picked up the wrong one because his screensaver was a picture of his cat, Jiujiu.

The phone had both facial recognition and password unlocking methods. Before Su Shi could do anything, the phone automatically unlocked. He didn’t know when Chi Ye had registered his face for facial recognition.

Su Shi wasn’t interested in checking his boyfriend’s phone. Rumor has it that no one can come out of their boyfriend’s phone smiling, and Su Shi didn’t want to try.

However, at that moment, a message popped up on the phone, and Su Shi couldn’t help but see it.

The message was from Chen Zihan: “Junior, remember to come to the Computer Society meeting tomorrow. Also, you’re together with your crush, right? My multiple performances were worth it! I’m your love’s security guard!”

Su Shi’s calm heart was hit by a stone. Sure enough, he couldn’t come out of his boyfriend’s phone smiling.
