Chapter 53: Something Was Added to the Drink

No matter how Su Shi explained that Chi Ye wasn’t his boyfriend, Liao Tong and Chu Tianming didn’t believe it.

With Chi Ye’s addition, the atmosphere became even more cheerful.

Unable to get anything out of Su Shi, Liao Tong and Chu Tianming turned their attention to Chi Ye.

They kept asking how Chi Ye and Su Shi met, and what Chi Ye thought of Su Shi.

Chi Ye didn’t act coy and answered each question.

    Introduced by others.

    Su Shi is very good.

Chi Ye’s answers drew long sighs from Liao Tong and Chu Tianming, deeming him too decent.

Su Shi was speechless, unable to resist scolding the two, “Why are you two big men so gossipy?”

Chu Tianming strongly disagreed with this statement, immediately retorting, “Who says men can’t gossip?”

Liao Tong echoed, “Exactly, we’re concerned about your life’s happiness.”

Su Shi wanted to roll his eyes, “I don’t need your concern.”

This statement drew a barrage of attacks from Liao Tong and Chu Tianming.

Everyone had been quite normal at the dinner table, Su Shi hadn’t expected these two to act like completely different people after a few drinks at the pub.

They seemed to have finally found a source of amusement in their mundane and boring lives, and were putting all their effort into extracting more from this hard-won joy.

This was also Chi Ye’s fault for offering himself up, saying ambiguous things, so even if he got drunk, he wouldn’t be entirely innocent.

Chu Tianming ordered a row of six shot glasses from the bartender, filling them all with whiskey.

“Come on, let’s play dice, whoever loses drinks.”

Playing dice in a bar was a very common activity, but Su Shi felt as if he was facing a formidable enemy because he lost nine times out of ten.

Su Shi repeatedly waved his hands, “I can’t drink, you know, I can’t handle my liquor.”

Liao Tong raised an eyebrow, “Isn’t there Chi Ye?”

    Su Shi: “He can’t either.”

Chu Tianming smirked, “How can a man say he can’t?”

Su Shi wanted to disappear on the spot.

Chi Ye smiled, “It’s okay, I’ll play with Brother Liao and Brother Chu.”

In order not to be accused of being a spoilsport, Su Shi had to bite the bullet and join in. Anyway, he didn’t have work, so he would just get drunk.

As expected, Su Shi lost the first round.

Liao Tong: “Su Su, you drink.”

Whiskey wasn’t weak, Su Shi was prepared to drink one glass and collapse, so no one would be able to make him drink anymore.

But just as his fingers gripped the glass, Chi Ye reached over and held it down. “I’ll do it.”

Liao Tong and Chu Tianming applauded repeatedly, “Well done.”

Su Shi lost every round, and Chi Ye drank glass after glass.

In the end, Su Shi resorted to playing dirty and quit the game, simply refusing to play anymore.

Liao Tong and Chu Tianming knew when to stop and didn’t make things difficult for Chi Ye.

Su Shi’s seat was on the very edge, next to him were Liao Tong, Chu Tianming, and then Chi Ye.

Chu Tianming leaned over Liao Tong and nudged Su Shi, whispering, “Feeling sorry for him?”

“No, I told you it’s not what you think.”

Chu Tianming tutted, “That kid clearly has feelings for you, we’re helping you test him.”

Su Shi thought to himself: I thank you, enthusiastic busybodies from the neighborhood committee!

Su Shi’s head hurt from all the noise, he stood up and left his seat, “I’m going to the restroom.”

Chi Ye’s eyes followed him, “Do you want me to go with you?”

Liao Tong burst out laughing, “Even going to the restroom needs company, Chi Ye are you afraid Su Su will get lost?”

Chi Ye smiled shyly, “It’s chaotic in the bar.”

Su Shi: “No need, you guys continue.” Drink yourselves to death, so you won’t be annoying.

Chi Ye watched Su Shi go, Liao Tong: “Stop looking, you can’t see him anymore.”

Chu Tianming: “You look a lot younger than us, what year were you born?”

    Chi Ye gave his age.

Chu Tianming exclaimed, “So you’re still a college boy, Su Shi is lucky, eating so well.”

Su Shi just wanted to get some fresh air to avoid being poisoned further, but how could there be a quiet place in a gay bar, everywhere you could see people flirting, people with their arms around each other’s shoulders, people discussing where to go later.

Su Shi entered the restroom and even heard strange noises coming from one of the stalls.

    Then someone was talking.

One said, “I saw a pretty good piece of goods outside just now, it would be great if I could get my hands on him.”

The other said, “Wouldn’t it be easy to just add something to his drink?”

    This was followed by giggling.

Beneath the dazzling lights and decadent atmosphere, filth and grime were hidden. Afraid of dirtying his ears, Su Shi washed his hands and left.

At this moment, Su Shi received a few work messages. He stopped to reply before walking back to his seat.

A bartender placed a beautiful drink in front of Chi Ye and ordered another round of drinks, it seemed Liao Tong and Chu Tianming were determined not to let Chi Ye go without getting him drunk.

Su Shi saw Chi Ye raise his glass and drink it all in one go, while Liao Tong and Chu Tianming clapped and cheered from the side.

Su Shi was about to sit back down when he heard the bartender say to Chi Ye, “Sir, you have a good capacity for alcohol.”

Su Shi suddenly felt a jolt. This voice was very familiar. He was sure he had just heard it. In a flash of inspiration, the sentence “Wouldn’t it be easy to just add something to his drink?” popped up.

There was something in the drink. The man was after Chi Ye. Su Shi grabbed the bartender, “Who ordered the drink?”

The bartender looked blank, saying he was just delivering drinks according to the order.

Chu Tianming thought Su Shi was blaming them for making Chi Ye drink, and quickly promised, “No more drinking, no more drinking.”

Su Shi glared at them, “Did you order the drink? Or was it delivered to the wrong person?”

Chu Tianming was confused but nodded, “I ordered it.”

Su Shi glared at the bartender, “Did you add anything to the drink?”

The bartender struggled to escape from Su Shi’s grasp, “We are a legitimate bar, we don’t add anything.” With that, he ran away.

Su Shi still felt uneasy and grabbed Chi Ye’s shoulders, “How do you feel?”

Other than a slightly flushed face, Chi Ye showed no other signs.

Liao Tong came to his senses, “Su Shi, what’s wrong? Is there something wrong with that bartender?”

Su Shi told them what he had overheard in the restroom.

With such a commotion, Chu Tianming was also afraid something would happen, “It shouldn’t be, I’ve been to this bar a few times, it’s not that chaotic.”

Liao Tong: “Let’s see how Chi Ye is first.”

Chi Ye rested his head on Su Shi’s shoulder, “I’m fine, Su Shi, just a little dizzy.”

If it was a misunderstanding, that would be best. Su Shi unconsciously patted Chi Ye’s back, “It’s best if you’re okay.”

The group said goodbye at the entrance of the bar, Liao Tong and Chu Tianming left together, Su Shi took Chi Ye back to the apartments.

Sitting in the car, although the back seat was spacious, Chi Ye refused to sit properly and insisted on squeezing next to Su Shi.

Even through the clothes, Su Shi could feel the heat radiating from Chi Ye’s body.

Chi Ye closed his eyes, leaning back against the seat, looking truly drunk.

“Are you alright?” Su Shi asked.

    Chi Ye didn’t answer.

Su Shi patted him, “Chi Ye.”

Then, before Su Shi could retract his hand, it was grabbed by Chi Ye. “Mm.”

    Su Shi: “Let go.”

    “I won’t.”

In the taxi, Su Shi didn’t want to be laughed at by the driver. Besides, Chi Ye was drunk and couldn’t be reasoned with, so he had no choice but to let Chi Ye hold his hand.

Forget it, Chi Ye was drunk anyway, he wouldn’t remember it tomorrow.
