Chapter 39: The Red Mole Behind the Ear

The male and female leads in the soap opera were still endlessly bickering, their deep affection intertwined with ambiguous feelings, truly a melodramatic spectacle.

Su Shi collapsed on the sofa, too weak to continue making sarcastic remarks. The sounds from the TV gradually faded into background noise, blurring the dialogue.

Two empty beer bottles lay on the floor, yet Su Shi wasn’t drunk. It was just that all the alcohol in the refrigerator had the lowest alcohol content.

Only a chandelier was lit in the living room, its warm light shining on Su Shi, making him look like a lazy cat sprawled on the sofa, basking languidly in the sun.

Xu Chongming had sent countless messages to Su Shi’s phone, but Su Shi hadn’t read a single one.

Su Shi was serious about wanting some peace and quiet.

Su Shi muted his phone and stayed alone, slowly savoring the torment of the long night.

People are sometimes contradictory. When happy, time flies by, but when sad, the hands of time seem to slow down. Every minute and every second becomes long and lonely.

Su Shi was too awake, his mind replaying the scene of Xu Chongming chatting happily with Miss Miao. The more he thought about it, the clearer the scene became, imprinted on his mind like a high-resolution photo.

Su Shi was surprised to find that what frightened him most was not the fact that Xu Chongming had found someone else, but Xu Chongming’s deception and concealment.

In other words, what he cared most about Xu Chongming was whether he had been deceived and concealed from.

In the end, people are selfish.

Su Shi mocked himself in his heart.

His phone’s battery was low and it had automatically shut down.

Su Shi felt that he still wasn’t enjoying himself enough, so he staggered to the refrigerator and took out another bottle of beer.

He gulped down a few mouthfuls, and after a while, his thoughts finally weren’t as clear.

His head slowly became dizzy, and his face began to feel hot.

Su Shi’s movements became sluggish, and he staggered towards the room.

Su Shi pushed open the door to the first room he saw, fell onto the bed, and pressed his face against the sheets.

The texture felt different from what he usually slept on, and Su Shi rubbed his face against it.

Oh well, it’s quite comfortable anyway, never mind.

Su Shi’s eyelids began to droop, and he couldn’t help but close his eyes.

Whether it was a dream or reality, he heard the sound of the doorbell.

Disturbed, Su Shi turned over, his face buried in a deep sleep, his body curled up, revealing the red mole behind his ear.

Only a small lamp was lit in the room, enough to see Su Shi’s face and the outline of his body.

Asleep, Su Shi felt someone staring intently at him from the abyss. A light quilt was placed over him, and Su Shi subconsciously tugged at it, hiding his cold arms under the covers.

Su Shi was half-dreaming, half-awake, unable to distinguish between reality and illusion.

He only felt a shadow cast over him, but he felt safe and not in danger, so he didn’t try to open his eyes.

A warm breath was sprayed behind his ear, heating up the area around the red mole. Then, it spread to the surrounding area, leaving no spot untouched.

Su Shi felt like he was soaking in a hot spring, scorching yet comfortable, scalding yet warming.

So when the heat source was about to leave, he reached out and grabbed it.

He pulled it down and bit down on something, somewhere, without knowing what it was.

Then he released his hand and continued to sleep.

Recently, he’s been having good dreams whenever he gets drunk, and this time was no exception. It seems that alcohol is a good thing, no wonder so many people are willing to live and die in a drunken stupor, immersed in a pool of alcohol.

Chi Ye touched his chin as he left the room, gently closing the door behind him, and came out to the living room to clean up the mess.

The greasy takeout boxes on the coffee table, the opened but unfinished snacks, the three beer bottles on the floor, and the messy cushions and crumpled seat cushions on the sofa all needed to be tidied up.

After seeing Su Shi’s appearance after getting drunk last time, Chi Ye secretly vowed in his heart that he could never let him drink again.

But it’s only been a short time, and it’s happened again. Fortunately, Su Shi didn’t cry for his mother today, and obediently fell asleep, letting him do whatever he wanted.

However, Chi Ye touched his chin again, where a tooth mark was imprinted.

Was he sad? The answer was obvious.

Otherwise, with Su Shi’s alcohol tolerance, would he easily get drunk?

Everything was developing as expected, but Chi Ye couldn’t be happy at all, because Su Shi wasn’t happy. He hadn’t seen him smile, revealing his dimples, all night long.

Chi Ye understood that Su Shi seemed easy-going on the surface, but was actually very stubborn inside, as could be seen from some of his small habits.

Su Shi cannot tolerate deception, so what kind of decision will he make this time?

    Chi Ye waited and watched.

Su Shi woke up in a room that wasn’t his own, sat up abruptly, and looked around, realizing that it was Chi Ye’s old room.

After Chi Ye moved out, the quilt and pillows were put away, and only a sheet was laid out. But now, the quilt and pillows were there.

    There’s someone in the house!

Su Shi walked out barefoot and saw Chi Ye busy at work. For a moment, it felt like he was back a month or two ago, when Chi Ye still lived here.

At that time, he didn’t have to worry about anything, Chi Ye would take care of all the trivial matters.

Thinking about everything that had happened before, Su Shi always felt sorry for Chi Ye, for not taking care of him and instead letting him take care of himself.

Chi Ye had a band-aid on his chin. When he turned around, he saw Su Shi standing still, his face full of smiles, “Su Shi Ge, you’re awake?”

Before Su Shi could speak, Chi Ye continued, “Why aren’t you wearing slippers?”

Su Shi looked down and saw his two bare feet, his toes curled up. The floor was indeed a bit cold in the early morning. “I’ll put them on right away.”

Since he was the one being taken care of, he naturally had to be obedient. Su Shi turned around, went back to the room, put on his slippers, and came out again.

It was strange, Chi Ye had moved out so long ago, but when Su Shi suddenly saw him appear at home, he wasn’t surprised at all.

It was as if Chi Ye’s appearance here was a matter of course, and even he, the owner, had nothing to say.

But subconsciously was subconsciously, Su Shi still had to ask, “Chi Ye, why did you come? When did you come?”

Chi Ye pulled out a chair and sat down, “Your phone kept going unanswered, I was worried something might have happened, so I came over to see, but no one answered even after I rang the doorbell for a long time. In a moment of desperation, I entered the password.”

As he spoke, Chi Ye looked a little apologetic, “Su Shi Ge, you wouldn’t blame me for entering your house without permission, would you? And why haven’t you changed your password?”

Chi Ye spoke cleverly, and Su Shi didn’t understand for a moment, possibly because his brain was currently in a rusty state, “How could I? There’s nothing of value in my house anyway, you can come whenever you want.”

Of course there are valuable things in your house, but it’s hard for others to steal them, Chi Ye thought silently in his heart.

Su Shi thought for a moment, and then said, “As for the password, I’ll change it next time.”

In fact, Su Shi didn’t change the password because he didn’t remember how to change it, and also because he thought it was too troublesome, and he didn’t care if Chi Ye knew the password. His family was rich and well-off, so he wouldn’t care about his small possessions.
