Chapter 110: The Art of Husband Taming

As soon as Su Shi returned to West Hangzhou, Song Qingyan immediately rushed over, looking like someone was chasing him from behind in a frantic hurry.

After entering the door, Song Qingyan gulped down most of a bottle of mineral water, then grabbed Su Shi and looked him up and down.

“You’ve suffered, darling. Your face is thinner.”

When Song Qingyan learned about the incident over the phone, his little mouth rattled on non-stop. First, he cursed Xu Chongming as a bastard, an egg of a tortoise, for implicating Su Shi innocently.

Then, after cursing Xu Chongming, he cursed Du Li, saying that he should have sought revenge on the scumbag. He was so clueless, bringing it upon himself, he deserved to die.

Finally, he praised Chi Ye for being so reliable at such a young age, which was truly impressive.

Su Shi was long accustomed to Song Qingyan’s manner and touched his own face. “No, I actually think I’ve gained weight!”

During those days in North Zhou, although he couldn’t see Chi Ye all the time, Chi Ye had arranged his three meals a day perfectly.

Basically, Su Shi had tasted every famous dish in North Zhou.

Song Qingyan collapsed on the sofa, looking lazy. “Didn’t Chi Ye come back with you?”

“He stayed behind to handle some matters.”

Song Qingyan propped his head up with his hand. “Keep a close eye on Chi Ye. Don’t let some other seductress lead such a good catch astray.”

Su Shi smiled calmly. “If he’s mine, no one can take him away. If he’s not, I can’t keep him even if I try.”

“That’s true. Since we’re all men, it mainly depends on personal awareness.”

Song Qingyan had returned early from his vacation. Su Shi guessed that Qiao Yu must be unhappy, so he asked, “Didn’t I say I was fine? If you come back so early, your man will make a fuss.”

Song Qingyan said smugly, “Don’t worry, my backyard won’t catch fire. I’ve got him well under control.”

On this point, Su Shi admired Song Qingyan quite a bit.

Qiao Yu had a bad temper and looked like he was not easy to provoke. Su Shi didn’t know how Song Qingyan had tamed him so well.

Su Shi asked with interest, “How do you tame him?”

Song Qingyan smiled wickedly, looking at him with a malicious glint in his eyes. “What? Do you want to learn from my experience?”

Su Shi clasped his hands, looking like he was sincerely asking for advice.

“Please, please, Teacher Song, please enlighten me.”

Song Qingyan reached out to Su Shi. “Two hundred.”

Su Shi slapped his hand away. “Our revolutionary friendship actually involves money.”

Song Qingyan said ruthlessly, “It does.”

Helpless, Su Shi picked up his phone and transferred a two-hundred yuan red envelope to Song Qingyan.

    “Transferred.”

Song Qingyan crossed his arms, looking like a teacher.

    “It’s simple, just two points.”

Su Shi was now a curious baby. “Which two points?”

“One, pet him with the grain. Two, tease him a little, give him a little something sweet.”

Su Shi seemed to understand, yet didn’t quite, nodding and then shaking his head.

Song Qingyan reached out and flicked Su Shi’s forehead.

“Chi Ye was so fascinated by you at such a young age. I guess you don’t need to use any tricks at all.”

Su Shi was abashed. He and Chi Ye had never paid attention to any strategies; they had always let things take their natural course.

But relationships still needed to be managed.

After all, dopamine secretion was limited.

Song Qingyan suddenly turned serious. “Su Su, I have something to tell you. Don’t be angry.”

    “Ah, what is it?”

It didn’t sound like good news.

Song Qingyan said, “I was chatting with Xiao Qing yesterday and accidentally let your matter slip. Xiao Qing might already be on the plane now.”

“Song Qingyan, you…” Su Shi jumped up. “Damn it, you’re so unreliable.”

Song Qingyan could only let Su Shi scold him, wearing a smiling face.

“Anyway, you missed Xiao Qing, didn’t you?”

“Coming back requires a ten-plus hour flight, and she’ll have to fly back in a few days. It’s such a waste of time.”

Song Qingyan persuaded, “How can coming back to see you be a waste of time? Xiao Qing is grown up now and has her own ideas. Don’t always treat her like a child.”

“Fine, fine. Send me the flight information.”

Song Qingyan hugged Su Shi. “Okay, we’ll pick her up together when the time comes.”

Song Qingyan breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, Su Shi wasn’t angry, or he would have been guilty.

In the evening, Su Shi told Chi Ye about this. Chi Ye prepared to come over earlier, but Su Shi didn’t allow it. “You just focus on your things. I’m just telling you.”

“It’s rare for your sister to come back. How can I not see her?”

Su Shi found it amusing and deliberately said, “Why do you have to see her?”

    “Aren’t I her sister-in-law?”

Hearing this, Su Shi burst out laughing. As expected, a real man never takes advantage in words.

Chi Ye, a grown man, had simply accepted Su Qing calling him sister-in-law.

The next day at noon, Chi Ye arrived. Su Shi picked him up first, then found Song Qingyan to meet up and pick up Su Qing together.

At a little after three in the afternoon, the plane was preparing to arrive.

As soon as a beautiful girl with shoulder-length hair saw them, she waved with a smile. “Brother.”

She really looked like Su Shi’s mother. Chi Ye had seen photos before.

Su Qing ran up and hugged Su Shi.

Su Shi patted Su Qing’s back. “Welcome home.”

Su Qing was very cheerful, with a sweet smile. After calling out to Song Qingyan, she called to Chi Ye, “Sister-in-law, hello.”

Chi Ye no longer felt any psychological burden regarding the sister-in-law address. “Welcome home.”

Su Qing walked in front, arm in arm with Su Shi, chattering non-stop.

Chi Ye and Song Qingyan followed behind, each pushing a suitcase.

Song Qingyan spoke to Chi Ye. “Su Qing was basically raised by Su Shi from a young age.”

The corners of Chi Ye’s lips turned up. “No wonder he’s so patient.”

Song Qingyan “eh”ed. “If I had known earlier that you ordered a ring from my store to give to Su Shi, I would have given you a discount.”

    Chi Ye smiled. “It’s okay.”

Originally, Su Shi planned to take Su Qing out to eat good food in the evening, but Song Qingyan had Qiao Yu reserve a private room at Fame Tower.

But unexpectedly, Chen Jingtian somehow found out that Su Qing had returned and asked them to go back together.

Su Shi was puzzled and asked Song Qingyan, “Did you let it slip again?”

Song Qingyan quickly waved his hand. “No, it really wasn’t me this time.”

But unexpectedly, he heard Su Qing say, “Brother, I was the one who said it.”

This really surprised Su Shi, and he looked at Su Qing with a questioning gaze. “Why?”

Su Qing winked at him. “What needs to be faced will always need to be faced. Brother, it’s better to be proactive than passive.”

Su Shi was somewhat gratified. The crybaby girl in his mind had unknowingly grown up.

“I was afraid you wouldn’t be happy to see those people right after you came back.”

    “Brother, I’ve grown up.”

The expression on Su Qing’s face changed. “If Chen Jingtian and the old hag dare to make things difficult for you, I’m going to meet them.”

Su Qing had always called Chen’s grandmother “old hag” because, in her impression, the other party was the old witch in the Snow White story who used a poisoned apple to harm the princess.

“Okay, we’ll go back together and take back what belongs to us.”
