GLIHBN Chapter 109
by VolareChapter 109: You Have Me Now
Snowflakes rustled, creating a silence that was almost frightening.
Xu Chongming was afraid of heights and only dared to lie on the edge of the rooftop, cautiously sticking his head out to look down.
Du Li’s body was quickly put onto a stretcher and covered with a white cloth, leaving only a large pool of blood on the ground.
The moment Du Li jumped, Xu Chongming’s heart almost leaped out of his throat.
No matter what, seeing a living person die in front of him was still deeply affecting.
Xu Chongming felt unprecedented remorse. Du Li was certainly hateful, but he was even more so.
If he hadn’t mishandled his relationship with Du Li, this tragedy might have been avoided.
Du Li hated Xu Chongming and wanted to leave him with a lifelong shadow.
He succeeded. Perhaps Xu Chongming would never dare to stand on a high building and look down again.
Like a walking corpse, Xu Chongming arrived at the Hospital and saw Su Shi and Chi Ye in the distance.
Chi Ye was holding medicine and reading the label, saying something, probably explaining how to use it to Su Shi.
As the two walked toward him, Xu Chongming rubbed his face, trying to make himself look less awful, and walked forward.
“Su Shi.”
Su Shi and Chi Ye stopped.
Chi Ye said, “Everything is fine here. You can go back.”
Xu Chongming only looked at Su Shi. “Su Shi, can I have a few words with you alone?”
Before Su Shi could speak, Chi Ye interjected, “No.”
Su Shi faintly heard some voices when he was unconscious, and knew that Xu Chongming had tried to save him. He said to Chi Ye, “It’s just a few words. It’s okay.”
Chi Ye was a hundred times unwilling but couldn’t go against Su Shi’s wishes. “Then be quick.”
Su Shi walked over, and with Xu Chongming chose a quiet spot by the window.
“What do you want to say?” Su Shi asked.
“Su Shi, I owe you an apology,” Xu Chongming said sincerely. “I’m sorry.”
“Because of me, you suffered this unwarranted disaster. I’m very sorry.”
Su Shi pursed his lips, carefully choosing his words, but Xu Chongming continued:
“I always claimed to love you so much, but I always brought you harm. I am indeed inferior to Chi Ye, far inferior.”
On the rooftop, Chi Ye rushed over to pull Su Shi back without hesitation, it was practically instinct.
But he, had hesitated.
On this point, Xu Chongming couldn’t compare to Chi Ye at all.
Su Shi looked at Chi Ye, who was standing guard not far away, and said to Xu Chongming, “Feelings can’t be compared. Chongming, you’re not a bad person, but we’re just not right for each other.”
Xu Chongming’s heart was in turmoil, and he felt a bitter taste, but he finally managed a relieved smile.
“Su Shi, I’m honored to have met you. I wish you and Chi Ye happiness.”
This time, Xu Chongming had completely given up.
Su Shi’s face was still pale, and his smile was faint. “Thank you.”
After Xu Chongming left, Chi Ye came over and pulled Su Shi closer. “What did he say to you?”
“He wished us happiness,” Su Shi said truthfully.
“Good that he knows what’s good for him.”
Chi Ye took Su Shi back home.
It was Su Shi’s first time in Chi Ye’s room. It was a room that didn’t seem like it belonged to someone Chi Ye’s age.
There were no toys, figurines, or models.
The decor was minimalist, empty, and devoid of warmth.
“It’s very boring, isn’t it?”
Chi Ye put his arm around Su Shi as they sat down on the bench at the foot of the bed.
“It feels like a model home, kind of cold.”
Chi Ye rubbed his chin against Su Shi’s warm neck. “It’ll be better when you’re here.”
Su Shi felt ticklish and shrank his neck. “Are you coming back with me tomorrow?”
Chi Ye paused. “I still have things to take care of here. You go back first, and I’ll come to you as soon as I’m done.”
“Okay.”
Su Shi couldn’t get his hands wet, so Chi Ye helped him with the entire bathing process.
They had been intimate countless times, so there was nothing to be shy about.
Su Shi stood under the showerhead, letting Chi Ye methodically apply the foam to his body.
Su Shi had fair skin, so it was easy to leave marks.
There was a bruise on his waist, probably from being tied up.
Su Shi followed Chi Ye’s gaze to the spot. “It doesn’t hurt. It’ll go away in a few days.”
Chi Ye’s gaze returned to Su Shi’s face, and he looked at him deeply.
Then he lifted his chin and kissed him.
The steam was rising, and the body was very warm, but what made it even warmer was the kiss.
It wasn’t forceful, but it was full of emotion, tender and lingering.
In the end, Chi Ye didn’t take it further.
Su Shi was like a doll, not having to move.
Chi Ye took care of everything: drying his body, drying his hair, and putting on his clothes.
Finally, he put him in the warm bed.
The blanket had Chi Ye’s scent, and Su Shi liked it.
Chi Ye got into bed and pulled Su Shi close.
Su Shi’s head rested on Chi Ye’s shoulder, and he was wearing Chi Ye’s pajamas, which were a bit long in the sleeves.
“Chi Ye, have you always lived in this room?”
“Yeah.”
“Get some things for it later. Don’t let it look so cold.”
Chi Ye pressed his face against the top of Su Shi’s head. “Okay, you get them for me. Get everything you like.”
Su Shi blinked. “Get some things you like.”
Chi Ye didn’t take it seriously. “I like what you like.”
Su Shi propped himself up and looked at Chi Ye. “Don’t be so unambitious. Everyone has things they like.”
Chi Ye pulled Su Shi down and hugged him again. “I just like the things you like.”
“Sigh, I really can’t do anything with you.”
Su Shi stopped arguing with Chi Ye about this issue.
He turned off the lights, and the two of them went to sleep, head to head.
The night was very quiet, and only their breathing could be heard.
Su Shi wasn’t sleepy yet. “Chi Ye, can you tell me about your childhood?”
Su Shi felt that he knew too little about Chi Ye and wanted to know more about him.
Chi Ye sighed softly. There really wasn’t much to say about his childhood, but Su Shi wanted to hear it, so he chose two relatively normal things to talk about.
One was that when he was five years old, Chi Ye accidentally fell into the swimming pool at home. He didn’t drown, but instead learned to swim without being taught.
After listening, Su Shi said, “You’re really something. You learned to swim at five.”
The other was that in middle school, it was popular to watch Japanese anime. His deskmate saw that Chi Ye didn’t have any, so he took the initiative to lend him one. When Chi Xiangqin found out when he got home, he burned it in front of him and told him not to watch such useless things.
Su Shi became even less sleepy and asked, “Then what? Then what?”
“Then I paid the money, and they changed the seats.”
“Ah, then this classmate won’t play with you anymore.”
“No, he wanted to play with me, but I didn’t play with him.”
“Why?”
“Because I don’t need to play. I just need to study.”
So precocious, poor Chi Ye.
“It’s okay, you have me now.”
In the darkness, Su Shi leaned forward and kissed Chi Ye, kissing him on the nose.
Chi Ye turned his face away and said awkwardly, “Don’t kiss me.”
“Why?”
Chi Ye turned his face back. “If you kiss me again, you won’t be able to leave tomorrow.”
Su Shi was so scared that he quickly pulled up the blanket, closed his eyes, and went to sleep.
