    Chapter 107: I Don’t Regret It

Time returns to 11 a.m. that day.

Su Shi slowly got out of bed and was about to wash up when he received a phone call.

    “Hello, who is this?”

    “Mr. Su, hello.”

The voice on the phone was that of an elderly man, sounding somewhat familiar.

Su Shi searched his memory, and suddenly, his eyes widened, “Grandpa Chi Ye?”

The other party chuckled twice, “I didn’t expect you to recognize me.”

*This is a case of someone coming to break up the couple*, Su Shi’s first reaction was this. “What’s the matter?”

Chi Xiangqin gave an address, “I’m waiting for you here, to talk to you about you and my grandson.”

Su Shi hesitated, unsure whether he should go or not.

“What, are you afraid I’ll harm you?” Chi Xiangqin said with a hint of disdain.

“No,” Su Shi didn’t think so. This is a society ruled by law, and Chi Xiangqin isn’t a gangster.

“Then I’ll see you later.” After saying that, Chi Xiangqin hung up the phone.

Su Shi thought about it and ultimately decided not to tell Chi Ye first, but to wait until he had heard what Chi Xiangqin had to say.

After a quick tidy up, Su Shi went out. He greeted the receptionist on the way down and hailed a taxi at the entrance, giving the driver the address.

The driver casually said, “Ah, that place.”

Su Shi was a little puzzled, “What about that place?”

The driver didn’t say anything else.

The place was a bit far, with many twists and turns.

Upon reaching his destination, Su Shi scanned the code to pay and then got out of the car.

It seemed that this should be the old city area, the houses were relatively old, and the buildings were not tall.

Su Shi looked around, but didn’t see the place Chi Xiangqin had mentioned.

At this moment, a man in a black suit and sunglasses walked towards Su Shi, looking like a trained fighter.

    “Mr. Su, is it?”

    Su Shi nodded.

    “Come with me.”

Su Shi followed the man into an old teahouse where Chi Xiangqin was sitting.

After the man in sunglasses brought Su Shi in, he went out, gently closing the door.

The room was quiet, with no one else.

“Sit down,” Chi Xiangqin sat upright in the master seat at the tea table, pointing to the seat opposite him.

Su Shi walked over, pulled out the chair, and sat down, greeting him first, “Old Mr. Chi.”

Chi Xiangqin didn’t respond, his sharp eyes openly scrutinizing Su Shi’s face, making Su Shi very uncomfortable.

“If you have something to say, just say it.”

On the way here, Su Shi had imagined many bad possibilities and had fully prepared himself to deal with them.

But even so, when Chi Xiangqin said, without any attempt to sugarcoat it, “Chi Ye can’t be with you, he must get married and have children,” Su Shi still felt very uncomfortable.

Who stipulates that a person must get married and have children, otherwise their life is imperfect?

Su Shi only likes men and can live a lifetime without getting married or having children.

Since the homosexual group exists, then its very existence is justified.

However, Su Shi’s discomfort wasn’t entirely for himself, but also for Chi Ye.

Because he knew that Chi Ye had been overly controlled from childhood and didn’t have true freedom.

Su Shi didn’t speak rashly but picked up the steaming tea on the table and took a sip.

Chi Xiangqin continued, “You can name your conditions, what it will take for you to completely break up with Chi Ye, name your price.”

Su Shi said calmly, “Didn’t you already ask Chi Ye to break up with me last time? How did that turn out?”

Chi Xiangqin held the cane beside him, stroking the patterns on it, his eyes sharp.

    “So you’re very proud?”

The usually obedient Chi Ye, this time for this man, was outwardly compliant but inwardly defiant, and even played tricks.

This made Chi Xiangqin have to re-examine the man in front of him.

He looked decent enough, but Chi Xiangqin didn’t think there was anything special about him. He didn’t know why Chi Ye liked him so much.

“No, I mean Chi Ye doesn’t want to break up with me.” After a pause, Su Shi added, “And I, I am unwilling to break up with Chi Ye.”

Hearing this, Chi Xiangqin struck the ground heavily with his cane, “Chi Ye is my only grandson, you should know that in families like ours, who he ends up with in the future can’t be entirely up to him.”

“But he is a person, not your tool.”

Chi Xiangqin seemed to have heard a great joke, his tone filled with disdain, “How many people want to be my tool, it’s his honor.”

The old man in front of him was stubborn, strong, and full of oppression.

Su Shi found it hard to imagine how Chi Ye had grown up.

Just hearing a few words made Su Shi feel suffocated and pained for Chi Ye.

“I sincerely like Chi Ye as a person, and I won’t break up with him. If you want Chi Ye to break up with me, then go find him.”

Chi Xiangqin said sarcastically, “Like, liking is the cheapest thing in the world, only children talk about liking.”

It’s useless to talk to someone who doesn’t share your views. Su Shi didn’t plan to continue. He stood up, “If you asked me to come here just to say this, then I have nothing to say, I’ll be leaving first.”

Saying that, he nodded slightly to Chi Xiangqin and walked towards the door of the tea room.

Chi Xiangqin said behind Su Shi, “Remember your arrogance now, you will regret it in the future.”

Su Shi stopped at the door, but didn’t turn back, “I won’t regret it.”

Chi Ye’s love was as turbulent as the tide, and had completely kidnapped Su Shi. Su Shi could deeply feel this unforgettable emotion and willingly fell into the prison set up by Chi Ye.

Walking out of the tea room, Su Shi returned to the place where he had gotten out of the car earlier. He was about to call Chi Ye when suddenly, the back of his head was in pain, his vision began to blur, and his body went limp.

Then, he felt someone moving his body.

Then, he fell into complete darkness.

    Time returns to the present.

Snowflakes fluttered down, landing on Su Shi’s hair and body, and after a while, turned into small puddles of water.

Su Shi’s throat was dry and uncomfortable, “Chi Ye, it’s snowing.”

Chi Ye was still sobbing uncontrollably, his body trembling slightly, barely wiping his face with his hand, “Yeah, it’s finally snowing.”

No matter how beautiful the snow was, Chi Ye had no heart to appreciate it, holding Su Shi even tighter.

So tight, as if he wanted to merge with Su Shi.

Looking at Chi Ye’s tear-stained face, Su Shi felt that Chi Ye was still just a young man.

Su Shi’s hands actually hurt a lot, whether it was the one injured by the handcuffs or the one being held by Chi Ye, they were both agonizingly painful.

The sound of sirens was already ringing downstairs, and medical personnel would be up soon.

Su Shi used his hand to wipe away Chi Ye’s tears, “I’m fine, don’t cry.”

But while comforting Chi Ye, he himself choked up.

Before falling into darkness, Su Shi had been afraid, regretting that he had underestimated the evil of human nature.

He was afraid of paying an irreversible price for a single mistake.

While lying unconscious on the edge of the rooftop, Su Shi had heard voices from the outside world, struggling to wake up.

But the drugs made him delirious, making it difficult even to open his eyelids.

It wasn’t until he heard Chi Ye say “Give Su Shi back to me” that Su Shi suddenly woke up.
