    Chapter 101: Date Discovered

Chi Ye drove Su Shi to the most famous scenic spot in the area, an ancient city with a historical background.

Chi Ye knew that Su Shi would prefer visiting a meaningful place like this rather than a commercial street.

Seeing Su Shi’s expression after getting out of the car, Chi Ye knew he had made the right choice.

“Meilin Ancient City, I’ve seen it online, many bloggers have checked in here.”

    “It’s just so-so, really.”

To the locals, it’s just a tourist attraction, nothing special.

Chi Ye still preferred West Hangzhou, where the temperature doesn’t vary much throughout the year.

The scenery is beautiful, the climate is pleasant, and most importantly, Su Shi is there.

At the entrance of the city tower, Su Shi took out his phone and snapped a few photos.

“Do you want to stand at the entrance? I’ll take a picture of you,” Chi Ye asked.

Today, he was bundled up like a ball, not aesthetically pleasing at all, so Su Shi said, “Better not.”

Chi Ye let him be, but occasionally secretly used his own phone to capture different sides of Su Shi.

The inside of the ancient city was very lively, not deserted despite being the Spring Festival.

This place was slightly different from the ancient cities he had visited before, and Su Shi watched with great interest.

The two walked into a wood carving shop together, where a craftsman was carving something.

Last year, Su Shi had helped a client curate a wood carving exhibition, and he had a little understanding of wood carving.

The craftsman’s technique looked very good, and Su Shi couldn’t help but take a few more glances.

Chi Ye thought Su Shi liked it, so he pointed to a row of shelves in front, “There are many over there, go and pick one.”

Su Shi ignored him and went up to ask the craftsman, “Boss, can you customize?”

The craftsman raised his round glasses on the bridge of his nose, glanced at them, and slowly said, “Yes,” then stretched out five fingers, “This number.”

“No problem,” Su Shi said, “Then carve the two of us, okay?”

The craftsman looked at their hands clasped together, understanding in his heart, “Okay, take a photo.”

Whatever Su Shi wanted to do, Chi Ye fully cooperated.

The craftsman took a photo of the two of them and said that the work would take a month and would be mailed afterwards.

    Su Shi nodded.

Chi Ye went to pay, and while Su Shi was still looking at things on the side, he quietly said to the craftsman, “Add money, the faster the better.”

The power of money is great, and the craftsman happily agreed and had Chi Ye fill in the address.

Leaving the wood carving shop, Chi Ye smiled and asked Su Shi, “Why are you willing to take pictures now?”

“Wood carving can’t carve out my ugly appearance now. It would be amazing if the spirit could be similar.”

Chi Ye immediately frowned and reprimanded, “Don’t say you’re ugly.”

Su Shi was noncommittal, pulling at the clothes on his body for Chi Ye to see, “These down jackets you bought for me are too bulky, like wearing a thick quilt. And this shiny black color looks like a black trash bag from a distance.”

Chi Ye couldn’t help but laugh at the description, “Why do I think it looks good? I think everything looks good on you.”

Su Shi glared at him, “Straight men’s aesthetics, if you didn’t look good, the clothes you used to wear would really be ugly.”

Hoodies, sweatpants, jeans, limited edition sneakers, aren’t all students dressed like that?

    What was ugly about it?

Chi Ye didn’t have high requirements in this regard, but later he always wore clothes that Su Shi helped him choose. Some classmates praised him for changing his style and becoming more handsome.

Chi Ye looked around, and taking advantage of the fact that no one was looking, he kissed Su Shi on the head, “It’s enough that you look good.”

Su Shi didn’t quite understand why Chi Ye always liked to kiss him on the head. Doesn’t the hair tickle his lips? “Anyway, I’ll pick out all your clothes in the future, so they won’t be ugly.”

Su Shi had bought almost all kinds of clothes for Chi Ye, except for suits. Just imagining Chi Ye wearing a suit made him weak in the knees.

No, he would order one as soon as he returned to West Hangzhou.

Su Shi liked to buy things, looking around and buying a lot of small things along the way.

There were endless shops in the ancient city, all selling things. The only things truly used for sightseeing were the towering city tower, the mottled city walls, and a few cannons left over from ancient times.

Su Shi watched and took pictures, which might become material for future exhibitions.

There was an introduction on the wall, describing the history of the ancient city, and Su Shi discussed the wisdom of the ancients with Chi Ye.

Time flew by, and after coming out of the ancient city, Chi Ye took Su Shi to a special bar and restaurant to eat roast whole lamb.

It was so fragrant that it was dizzying. The lamb was not gamey at all, fragrant, crispy, and tender. One bite was full of juicy oil.

Su Shi had never eaten such delicious roast lamb.

He was completely satisfied with the meal, and when he came out, the sky was dusky.

Su Shi said regretfully, “All that’s missing is seeing snow.”

Chi Ye was really powerless to do anything about this. According to the weather forecast, it didn’t seem like there would be any snow in the next few days. He could only pray for an unexpected snowfall to fulfill Su Shi’s small wish.

Every time Chi Ye went out to play with Su Shi, he would arrange the itinerary to Su Shi’s complete satisfaction, and this time was no exception.

It wasn’t too late, so Chi Ye pulled him to walk around and digest, walking for about fifteen minutes to a square where many people were gathered, as if there was a large-scale event.

“What’s this for?” Su Shi asked.

“There will be a fireworks show at nine o’clock sharp,” Chi Ye replied.

Fireworks are prohibited in West Hangzhou, but he didn’t expect they could be set off here, but it might be because of the Spring Festival.

Su Shi looked forward to all beautiful things, especially fireworks, which are endowed with a romantic color. Watching them with the one you love is the most meaningful.

There were still a few minutes until nine o’clock sharp, and Su Shi and Chi Ye didn’t squeeze forward, but stood in place, their fingers intertwined.

Su Shi was a few centimeters shorter than Chi Ye, and occasionally he would unconsciously rest his chin on Chi Ye’s shoulder, and then suddenly remember that there were people around, and he would lift it up again.

At exactly nine o’clock, the sound of fireworks soaring into the sky was emitted, “Bang, bang, bang,” and brilliant colors exploded in the sky, dazzling and making it impossible to take your eyes away.

Various shapes, as well as fireworks with the four characters “Happy New Year,” made the crowd constantly emit “Wow” sounds.

Su Shi accidentally rested his chin on Chi Ye’s shoulder again. This was a small habit of his.

Sometimes at home, as long as Chi Ye leaned over, he would reflexively lean on his shoulder.

Because of this, the two would be very close.

The entire fireworks show would last about half an hour, and it hurt his neck after watching for a long time.

This time, just as he was about to move away, he was stopped by Chi Ye, “Lean on, anyway, no one knows us.”

Su Shi thought that was true. He didn’t know if Chi Ye knew anyone here, but no one knew him here anyway.

The two occasionally whispered to each other, their bodies always close together and never separated, and anyone could see that they were a young couple in love.

Su Shi and Chi Ye were immersed in the beauty of the fireworks and the pink bubbles of love, and didn’t notice at all that someone not far away was staring at them intently.
