ATBWSTBP Chapter 7
by VolareChapter 7 Consultation Two Years Ago
Jin Mo stood in front of “Ruikang Clinic” and smoked a cigarette. This was the eighth clinic he had visited today.
He looked at the time; it was already past four o’clock, and he wouldn’t make it to the next one.
He pushed the door open, entered the clinic, and went straight to the front desk.
“Hello!”
The receptionist was a pretty young girl, and she was naturally very enthusiastic when she saw a handsome guy.
“Hello! Do you have an appointment?” the girl asked with a sweet smile, her eyes full of affection.
“Oh, no,” Jin Mo replied with a gentle smile. “I want to inquire about a patient’s medical records.”
“Ah?” The receptionist’s smile faltered, her eyes widened instantly, and her mouth opened involuntarily.
“I don’t need to see the content of the consultation, just check if there’s a record of it!”
Jin Mo reached out and brushed his hair back from his forehead, his tone even softer.
“My brother has been missing for the past two days, and we don’t know what happened to him. So, we just want to see if he’s registered and consulted at any clinics!”
The receptionist finally understood.
“Oh, I see. Okay, give me the patient’s ID number, and I’ll check!” She finished speaking and gave a shy smile.
Jin Mo quickly handed over the piece of paper with Jin Baiyan’s ID number written on it.
The girl took the paper, entered the ID number into the system, and clicked “Search.”
A line of records appeared on the computer screen.
“Ah, there really is a consultation record!” the girl exclaimed.
Jin Mo, who had been leaning lazily against the desk, immediately stood up straight, twisting his body and trying his best to see the computer screen.
“When was the consultation? Who was the doctor in charge?”
Jin Mo’s tone was hurried, and the expression on his face was quite agitated.
“It’s a consultation record from two and a half years ago,” the girl said as she clicked on the search results. “The doctor in charge is Dr. Qin Jihua.”
“Do you have Dr. Qin Jihua’s phone number?”
“Yes! I’ll write it down for you!” the girl said, picking up a pen and writing Dr. Qin Jihua’s phone number on a piece of paper next to her, and handed it to Jin Mo.
“Thank you, thank you!” Jin Mo took the paper and thanked her repeatedly.
The girl’s face was a little red, and she said, “You’re welcome!”
“By the way, is Dr. Qin Jihua still at the clinic?”
The girl thought for a moment, then nodded. “Yes, his last patient for today went in a while ago. You can wait next door!”
“Okay, if the patient comes out, please let me know!” Jin Mo smiled at the girl and said politely.
The girl was captivated and nodded repeatedly.
Jin Mo turned and sat on the sofa, staring at the piece of paper in his hand.
His heart beat faster and faster, his palms were sweating, and his throat seemed to be constricted. His body trembled slightly with excitement, and he felt a sense of unreality.
He looked up at the aloe vera greenery across from him, took a few deep breaths, and suppressed the trembling in his heart.
Calm, calm!
He kept telling himself not to be excited, to be calm! Don’t let yourself get so excited that you faint at this critical moment!
He reached out and pressed his hand against his chest, breathing deeply. After a few minutes, he finally calmed down.
He picked up his phone and saved Dr. Qin Jihua’s phone number.
The receptionist, while organizing the day’s documents, kept an eye on Dr. Qin Jihua’s office for the handsome guy she liked, and stole glances at him from time to time!
More than ten minutes later, the door to Dr. Qin Jihua’s office finally opened, and a middle-aged woman walked out.
The girl immediately stood up and whispered to Jin Mo on the sofa, “Hey! Dr. Qin Jihua’s patient is out!”
As soon as Jin Mo heard this, he quickly stood up, said “Thank you” to the girl, and walked towards Dr. Qin Jihua’s office in the direction the girl was pointing.
He walked to the door and looked at the label next to it: Dr. Qin Jihua.
He raised his hand and knocked lightly on the door.
A slightly deep voice came from inside, “Please come in!”
Jin Mo walked in and immediately saw Dr. Qin Jihua sitting behind the computer on his desk.
He looked to be in his forties, wearing a pair of black-rimmed glasses, and looked very refined.
Dr. Qin Jihua also looked up and saw the young man standing at the door, looking somewhat puzzled.
“You are?”
Jin Mo reached out and partially closed the door, walked to Dr. Qin Jihua’s desk, and bent down slightly.
“Dr. Qin Jihua, I’m sorry to bother you, I’m the younger brother of one of your patients!”
“The younger brother of one of my patients?”
“Yes, my brother is missing. I found out from the medicine he was taking that he might have a mental illness. I’ve been checking clinic after clinic, and finally found his consultation record here!”
Hearing this, Dr. Qin Jihua frowned, and sat up straight. “Missing?”
“Yes, we haven’t been able to contact him since last night!”
“Sit down,” Dr. Qin Jihua pointed to the chair next to him. “Which patient? Give me his ID number to check!”
Jin Mo quickly handed over the piece of paper in his hand.
Dr. Qin Jihua took the paper, entered it into the computer, and the consultation record quickly appeared.
“Jin Baiyan?”
“Yes!”
“He did consult with me before! But it was two and a half years ago!”
“Dr. Qin Jihua, what was my brother’s condition?”
“When he came, he said that he often heard two different voices arguing in his mind, which gave him a headache. At the time, I suspected that he was showing early symptoms of schizophrenia, so I prescribed some medicine for him! But…”
“But what?” Jin Mo asked, suddenly nervous.
“I told him to take one day out of every week to come back for a follow-up consultation. He managed to come for the first few weeks, but after more than a month, he stopped coming! I remember I even called him specifically to ask him to come back for a follow-up, and he said he was much better.”
“And then he didn’t come back?”
“That’s right!” Dr. Qin Jihua said, rubbing his forehead as he recalled. “Oh, right, I ran into him again a year ago.”
“That time, I was invited by a friend to attend a dinner party. It was then that I learned that Xiao Jin was actually the General Manager of Jin Corporation. At the time, I chatted with him for a few words, and I felt that he was in pretty good shape!”
“So, you think my brother recovered!”
Dr. Qin Jihua shook his head.
“With a condition like his, there are two possibilities: one is that he has completely recovered, and the other is that he has completely split! What is manifested is a good personality!”
“I don’t know which situation he’s in? Maybe only he himself knows!”
After Dr. Qin Jihua finished speaking, they both fell silent.
“You just said your brother is missing?” After a while, Dr. Qin Jihua asked again.
“Yes!”
“Has he been acting strangely recently?”
Jin Mo thought for a moment and shook his head. “I didn’t notice anything unusual in his mental state, but in the past month, he’s often looked pale, had headaches, lost his appetite, and been tired. This…”
Dr. Qin Jihua tapped his fingers on the desk a few times.
“These are side effects of increasing the dosage!”
Jin Mo’s heart constricted, and he clenched his fists even tighter under the table. His back straightened involuntarily, and his body trembled slightly.
“Then… what kind of situation will occur?” His voice trembled slightly.
Dr. Qin Jihua looked up at Jin Mo.
“I don’t know! Maybe his second personality will control his body, maybe the two personalities will fight each other and create a third personality, maybe the first personality will defeat the second personality. Without seeing him in person, it’s impossible to judge!”
Jin Mo sat up straight, staring at the desk with unfocused eyes, a wave of dull pain in his chest.
Dr. Qin Jihua really didn’t know how to handle this matter. He thought for a moment and said, “I can’t help much. How about this, I’ll send you the consultation report from back then. Take it back and take a look. If you have any questions, contact me again!”
Jin Mo nodded mechanically.
Ten minutes later, he walked out of the clinic with his brother’s consultation report from back then.
Night had fallen, and the lights on the street were colorful. Standing at the door, watching the pedestrians coming and going, watching the cars passing by one after another.
He felt like he was living in an unreal world.
“What are you still doing here?” Dr. Qin Jihua walked out of the clinic, saw Jin Mo standing at the door in a daze, and patted him on the shoulder. “Don’t worry too much, your brother’s willpower is strong, he’ll be fine!”
Jin Mo tried to force a smile on his lips, revealing a bitter one.
“Yeah! Thank you, Dr. Qin Jihua!”
Dr. Qin Jihua waved his hand at him and turned to leave.
Jin Mo raised his hand and rubbed his face hard.
Jin Mo, your brother is still waiting for you to find him, you have to cheer up!
After giving himself a pep talk, he deliberately stretched his muscles and bones, and turned to walk towards his car.
