ATBWSTBP Chapter 12
by VolareChapter 12: So That’s How It Is
“Zhao Ge, what are you doing?”
Jin Mo, rubbing his arm that was nearly crushed, glared at Zhao Chengxi, somewhat annoyed.
“Your skills aren’t up to par, kid! Haven’t been practicing properly lately, have you?”
Zhao Chengxi said with a laugh, patting the dust off Jin Mo.
Jin Mo scoffed. “For over a month now, my brother’s been keeping me cooped up at the company, getting me familiar with the business. Where would I find the time to train?”
Zhao Chengxi chuckled twice.
“Your brother’s hiding?”
Jin Mo rolled his eyes, knowing full well the answer!
“Yeah!”
Zhao Chengxi glanced sideways at Jin Mo, who was radiating anger, and the corners of his mouth curved up.
“Alright, alright, don’t get mad. I was just testing you! In our line of work, you gotta be suspicious! Sit!”
Jin Mo sat down on the edge of the flower bed next to him, his anger subsiding a little.
With Zhao Chengxi’s help, finding his brother would be much easier. His little grievance was nothing!
“Zhao Ge, do you have any new information about my brother?”
“Kid, you’re quick to the chase!”
Jin Mo chuckled twice. “With Zhao Ge helping, the speed is definitely faster than us investigating alone!”
“We’ve checked all the taxis. One of them had a problem. It left Kun City, but we don’t know exactly where it went yet. Xiao Li and the others are contacting the driver!”
“I knew it! With Zhao Ge taking action, one is worth ten!”
Jin Mo quickly offered a compliment.
Zhao Chengxi raised his hand and gave him a nudge with his elbow.
“Your brother’s illness, it’s all because of you. Even if you find him, how can you help him?” Zhao Chengxi turned around, propping his hands on the edge of the flower bed, his tone serious.
Jin Mo’s body stiffened.
“How do you know my brother’s illness is because of me?”
Zhao Chengxi snorted. “There’s a lot I know! For example, you don’t like him. For example…”
“Wait, wait, what are you talking about?” Jin Mo interrupted Zhao Chengxi, his tone incredulous. “What do you mean I don’t like my brother? How could I not like my brother? I like my brother very much!”
Zhao Chengxi made a surprised “eh” sound, leaning closer to Jin Mo.
“You like your brother?”
“Yeah! What’s wrong with that?”
“What kind of like? Like between family members, or… like between lovers?” Zhao Chengxi stared at Jin Mo, continuing to press him.
“What’s it to you?” Jin Mo leaned back, avoiding Zhao Chengxi’s burning gaze.
The corners of Zhao Chengxi’s mouth twitched up before he straightened up.
“Back then, Baiyan and I heard you say with our own ears that you didn’t like same-sex relationships. I still remember, Baiyan’s face turned white as a sheet at the time. He was staggering when he left. You can’t fool me!”
As soon as these words came out, Jin Mo froze completely, a chill running through him.
“Zhao Ge, what are you talking about? When did I ever say that? My brother, he…” Jin Mo’s voice trembled slightly.
Zhao Chengxi stood up, moved his neck, then squatted down, pressing on his legs.
“It was not long after you started your freshman year. Back then, you and Baiyan were so close, like one person. You’d hug and hold each other whenever you met, without any hesitation. The pictures were posted on your school’s forum, and the comments below were all sorts of things.”
“The most said was that you two were both homosexuals!”
Jin Mo’s mouth was wide open. How could he not know about this?
“There was such a thing? I actually didn’t know!”
“That’s because your brother took care of it all for you. How would you know!”
“Ah?”
“As soon as the forum post came out, he was afraid you’d be upset, so he wanted to go see you. I went with him! As a result…, sigh!”
Jin Mo stood up anxiously, standing in front of Zhao Chengxi.
“What was the result? Can you stop keeping me in suspense?”
“The result was a major shura field!”
Jin Mo wanted to kick Zhao Chengxi, but unfortunately, he couldn’t beat him, so he could only resentfully continue waiting for the rest of the story.
“Baiyan saw you and your roommate from afar. You two were sitting at a stone table in the pavilion, doing homework, talking and laughing as you worked.”
“Originally, Baiyan was going to call you, but he heard your roommate ask you, ‘Jin Mo, do you like guys?’ As soon as you heard that, you said, ‘I don’t like guys!'”
“Baiyan instantly froze in place! His face was pale!”
“I immediately pulled him away! He was staggering when he left! He looked like he had lost his soul!”
“Jin Mo, you have no idea how much damage your words caused Baiyan!”
“When he got home, he sat on the sofa in the living room for the entire night!”
“Motionless, like a statue!”
“I sat with him for the whole night. I watched his heart slowly turn from vibrant to desolate!”
“That night, not only did his heart die, but my heart also died!”
“Yes, I like your brother, but unfortunately, your brother likes you! What’s laughable is that you don’t like him!”
“Later, in order to get you on the right track and stop the gossip, he seemed to have agreed to the engagement banquet. I originally thought you’d just be a little unhappy.”
“Unexpectedly, things got out of control again!”
“On the day of the engagement banquet, he didn’t go. He was guarding you at the hospital! For that month, he almost never left your side, afraid that if he wasn’t careful, you’d die!”
“I have no doubt that if you died, your brother wouldn’t be able to live either!”
“Fortunately, a month later, you were out of danger and came back to life. Only then did your brother regain a little bit of his humanity!”
“To be honest, I still don’t understand why you and your brother had such a fierce argument that day, and why you lost control to that extent!”
“Aren’t you supposed to dislike same-sex relationships? Then what could you possibly find unacceptable about your brother getting engaged?”
Jin Mo was stunned by Zhao Chengxi’s words, one after another!
No wonder he always felt something was wrong with his brother during that time.
He was in a very low mood! He would stare at him blankly from time to time!
Whenever he pounced on him, he would be blocked.
Saying that he was too old and should avoid suspicion!
At that time, he was angry and threw a tantrum at his brother.
So that’s what happened!
No wonder he also said that he would only be his brother in the future!
He thought his brother meant that he would only be his brother, and he was quite happy!
He never expected that his brother meant to simply be his brother!
Jin Mo couldn’t help but curse.
This is really a huge misunderstanding!
“Hey, I shocked you dumb! No reaction after all this time!” Zhao Chengxi retracted his leg and pushed Jin Mo, who was standing there in a daze.
Jin Mo couldn’t help but raise his leg and kick Zhao Chengxi hard.
“Hey, what’s wrong with you? Why are you kicking people!” Zhao Chengxi was caught off guard and was kicked squarely. He jumped up, clutching his leg.
“It’s all your fault, you idiot!” Jin Mo pointed at Zhao Chengxi, burning with anger, “If you hadn’t pulled my brother away, we wouldn’t have ended up in such a miserable state today!”
The arm holding Zhao Chengxi’s leg trembled, and his leg landed on the ground with a “thud.”
“What? Why are you blaming me!”
“Yes, I blame you, you idiot! You’re really making me angry!”
Jin Mo sat down on the flower bed next to him, breathing heavily, pressing his hand against his chest. He felt like something was wrong with his heart.
Zhao Chengxi was confused and full of question marks, and he sat down next to him as well.
