Chapter 5: This is Medication for Mental Illness

    “Dr. Luo!”

Jin Mo had been waiting outside “Dr. Luo’s Office” for over ten minutes. As soon as he saw Dr. Luo, he immediately went to greet him.

“Little Mo!” Dr. Luo was somewhat surprised. “You’re waiting for me here?”

    “Yes!”

“Why didn’t you call me?” Dr. Luo asked while taking out his key to open the door.

“I figured you’d be out taking care of something this morning, so I thought I’d wait a bit first! I’d call if I had to!”

At this moment, Jin Mo had returned to being the gentle and obedient Jin Mo.

“Yes, after receiving your call last night, I couldn’t sleep. I went to a few old friends’ houses early this morning, asking them to help check if their hospitals had any records of Jin Baiyan seeking treatment! They’ll let me know the results later!”

Dr. Luo pushed the door open. “By the way, what exactly happened to Baiyan?”

Jin Mo took out a piece of paper wrapped around a pill from his pocket.

“Dr. Luo, can you help me take a look at what this medicine is?”

As Jin Mo spoke, he opened the paper, revealing the white, elongated pill inside.

“What is this?” Dr. Luo asked while using tweezers to pick up the small pill and smell it.

“Dr. Luo, can you tell what it’s for?”

Dr. Luo sniffed hard, his brow furrowing slightly. After a good while, he put down the pill, a hint of disbelief on his face.

“How is that possible?” he muttered while standing up and walking to the cabinet behind him. He opened the cabinet door, searched inside, and then took out a bottle of medicine, turning back to the table.

“This is…” Jin Mo began to speak, but Dr. Luo waved his hand to interrupt.

“Don’t rush, let me confirm again!”

With that, Dr. Luo pushed the paper-wrapped pill forward, unscrewed the bottle he had just taken out, poured out a pill from it, picked it up with tweezers, and sniffed it hard under his nose.

“The smell is the same!” he muttered while taking out a small flashlight from the drawer, turning it on, and shining it on the pill over and over again.

“Yes, it’s the same. They’re both engraved with an L,” Dr. Luo said while putting down the flashlight in his hand, looking at Jin Mo with a solemn expression. “Little Mo, are you sure this is medicine that Baiyan takes?”

Jin Mo’s hand under the table trembled, and then he immediately shook his head.

“I’m not sure. I just accidentally found this pill in the living room and wanted to see if there were any clues! Dr. Luo, what is this medicine for exactly?”

Hearing Jin Mo say this, Dr. Luo’s expression eased slightly.

“This is medicine for treating mental illness! The name is LPT. It’s generally prescribed for mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, manic depression, intellectual disability, and delusional disorder!”

Jin Mo’s heart skipped a beat, and his hand under the table trembled. Panic, shock, and heartache, like black vines, instantly crawled toward his limbs.

“Oh, then it probably isn’t what my brother takes. Jin Ze mentioned before that he was a bit manic, maybe it’s his medicine!” Jin Mo said with a smile.

Dr. Luo also nodded. “I don’t think so either. This medicine has major side effects. After taking it, you’ll feel nauseous, have headaches, insomnia, and difficulty concentrating. If Baiyan took it, he wouldn’t be able to work at all!”

Jin Mo also smiled, then picked up the pill and stood up.

For a moment, his heart seemed to stop.

“Then it’s nothing. I’ll go first!” With that, he walked straight out.

After leaving, Jin Mo went directly to his car.

The sunlight was bright and warm, but Jin Mo only felt cold all over.

This is medicine for treating mental illness!

Why would it appear in his brother’s room?

Since it could fall on the ground, it meant his brother must have opened the bottle, poured out the medicine, and even taken it!

    But why?

How could his brother have a mental illness!

He didn’t want to believe it! But he had no choice but to believe it!

As soon as he got into the car, he immediately took out his phone, entered the three letters LPT, and a series of search results appeared before him.

Remembering Jin Baiyan’s condition over the past month, Jin Mo’s heart clenched into a ball.

    He truly hated himself!

He had clearly noticed something was wrong with his brother so many times, but he was always fooled!

“Snap!” Jin Mo raised his hand and slapped himself in the face.

“Brother, why is your face so pale?”

    “It’s nothing, I caught a bit of a chill.”

“Then I’ll make you a cup of cold medicine!”

    “Okay!”

“Brother! You have to wear more clothes, don’t just focus on being handsome, it’s not good to catch a cold!”

    “Heh, got it!”

“Brother, do you have a headache? I saw you rubbing your temples?”

“It’s nothing, there’s a project with some tricky problems, my head is a little sore!”

    “I’ll rub it for you!”

    “Good boy!”

    “Hehehe!”

“Brother, isn’t the food to your liking today? Why are you eating so little?”

“I ate too much this morning!”

“Ah! Then I’ll have Assistant Liu bring over some digestive pills!”

    “Okay!”

“Later, put the food in the microwave and heat it up a bit before eating some more, otherwise you’ll be hungry!”

    “Okay!”

Various past conversations flooded Jin Mo’s mind.

He had clearly noticed his brother’s abnormalities so many times, but he simply didn’t take them to heart.

If he had been more alert sooner, how would things have gotten to this point!

Regret, remorse, and heartache, like black vines again, tightly wrapped his heart, making it difficult for him to breathe!

He raised his hand and pressed against his chest, which was beating somewhat erratically.

    Tears couldn’t stop flowing out!

Brother, don’t be afraid, I’m coming to find you!

So what if it’s a mental illness! It’s no big deal!

Jin Mo pulled out a piece of paper, wiped away his tears, his eyes filled with determination.

At least, it’s better than the terminal illness he initially thought, isn’t it!

After comforting himself, he took out his phone and began searching for all the mental hospitals in Kun City.

    Especially those famous private clinics!

In total, there were 28 of them, large and small.

He sent this clue to Xiao Feiwu, and soon, Xiao Feiwu’s phone call came.

“Little Mo, what do you mean? Baiyan got a mental illness?” As soon as the call connected, Xiao Feiwu’s loud voice rushed to his eardrums.

Jin Mo’s face instantly turned cold, and his voice was as cold as ice.

“Say that again and see what happens!”

“Ah? Oh!” Xiao Feiwu also realized his slip of the tongue, and his voice suddenly sank.

“That pill is indeed for treating mental illness. Regardless of whether my brother ate it or not, I don’t want anyone discussing him. You better shut your mouth tightly!”

“Understood, understood! I was just too shocked just now!”

    “How’s your investigation going?”

“After your brother left the house, he got into a taxi and went to a luggage Xin Service Station on Bloom Road, picked up a package, which should have been stored there in advance, then went to the underground parking lot, and then there were no traces!”

“Then check the cars that came out of the parking lot in the past two days one by one! He’s definitely in one of them.”

“As of today, there are a total of 123 cars. Huzi and the others are already investigating!”

“Okay, then I’ll go find them one by one at the clinics!”

“Okay! I’ll meet up at your house tonight!”

After hanging up the phone, Jin Mo drove to the nearest psychological clinic.

Today, his goal was to visit at least ten clinics. Within three days, he would run through all the clinics, large and small, in Kun City!

Although he knew the hope was slim, he couldn’t give up even on a sliver of hope!
