Chapter 19: His Brother is Truly Talented

That day, the group stayed until after 6 PM. As it got dark, they still hadn’t obtained any useful leads.

“Let’s call it a day and continue tomorrow!” Jin Mo waved his hand at the group. “On my way here, I saw a town ahead. We can sleep there for the night.”

    “Alright!”

A dozen minutes later, the group of six arrived at Piggy Village.

The town wasn’t very big and naturally not very prosperous.

After wandering around a bit, they found an inn.

It was a homestay with only a few rooms, each with two single beds. The six of them booked three rooms, two people per room.

Jin Mo thought for a moment and, anticipating that they would have to stay here for a while, booked it for ten days at once.

“Booking so many days? Won’t that be a waste!” Xiao Feiwu felt Jin Mo was too pessimistic. “Surely we’ll have news about Jin Baiyan before ten days are up!”

Jin Mo smiled, “It would be good if we have news within ten days, I’m afraid we might be stuck here for a few months!”

Xiao Feiwu’s mouth immediately widened, his face incredulous, muttering, “How could that be?”

After speaking, he looked at Xu Jiahao beside Jin Mo.

    Xu Jiahao looked calm.

“You think so too?” Xiao Feiwu felt like he was not on the same wavelength as these two.

Xu Jiahao scratched his head, the corner of his mouth tilting, leaning against the bar, his legs swinging back and forth, looking rather roguish.

Xiao Feiwu wanted to kick him just seeing Xu Jiahao’s posture.

If this were the army, he’d have been dragged out for a punishment run!

“The Piggy River doesn’t look big, and there aren’t many ships, but that’s exactly why it’s hard to search!” Xu Jiahao said quietly, then nudged Jin Mo. “Right!”

Jin Mo hummed in agreement, picked up the room keys on the table, and distributed them to everyone, “Two people per room.”

Xiao Feiwu was bewildered, mechanically taking the room key, and asked, “And then…?”

Jin Mo glanced at Xiao Feiwu; this guy really was all brawn and no brains.

Xu Jiahao chuckled twice, turned and walked towards his room.

Jin Mo followed, explaining as they walked, “My brother wouldn’t just randomly pick a boat. First, he might not be able to stop one, and second, he has his own objective.”

    “So…?”

“So, if he really went by water, the boat he’s on must have been booked long ago.”

Xiao Feiwu still couldn’t grasp the essence, looking at Jin Mo with pleading eyes.

“If I were him, to prevent me from finding him, or rather, to delay the time it takes me to find him, I would definitely find a boat that only passes by once a month, or three months, or even half a year!”

After Jin Mo finished speaking, he looked at the petrified Xiao Feiwu and patted him on the shoulder, “Get it now?”

Having said it so clearly, how could Xiao Feiwu not understand.

So, ten days suddenly felt insufficient.

“Ah, I truly admire Jin Baiyan with all my heart!” Xiao Feiwu exclaimed before entering his room.

    Jin Mo chuckled.

“Of course, my brother is smart!”

Xiao Feiwu snorted, dragged the laughing Xiao Ping into the room, and slammed the door shut, not wanting to hear someone bragging about his brother.

Xu Jiahao pulled Jin Mo, who still wanted to say something, into the room as well.

“This is a long-term job!” Xu Jiahao said, holding a towel and standing at the bathroom door.

Jin Mo took off his coat and lay on the bed, humming in agreement, “Yeah, I originally thought I could find my brother in a month at most, but now it seems like it would be good if I can find him within a year.”

“Can you persist for a year?”

“Don’t mention a year, two years, ten years, I have to find him!” Jin Mo turned over, facing Xu Jiahao, “You know, my brother’s obsession with me isn’t any less than mine.”

Xu Jiahao scoffed. “Your brother’s world probably revolves around you alone!”

The corners of Jin Mo’s mouth curved up, a smile reaching his eyes.

“I thought about it later, the reason your brother had me stop secretly taking pictures of you was probably because of your resistance, otherwise, even if the sky fell, he shouldn’t have stopped!”

Jin Mo hummed in agreement, “There was a huge misunderstanding!”

Hearing this, Xu Jiahao became interested, too lazy to even shower, dragging a chair closer to Jin Mo, looking like he was ready to listen to gossip.

    “What?”

    “Tell me about it!”

    “Don’t want to!”

Jin Mo clutched his chest, feeling that the truth he heard yesterday still hadn’t been digested.

“Anyway, it’s boring just sitting around, just treat me as a tree hole and tell me! If you tell me, I’ll also tell you something about your brother in return!”

As soon as Jin Mo heard this, his eyes instantly landed on Xu Jiahao’s face.

“About my brother? How would you know anything?”

“During those two years, although I was secretly taking pictures of you every day, I was also afraid that your brother would be bad for you, so I would also secretly pay attention to your brother from time to time. Naturally, I would know some things about him!”

Jin Mo blinked a few times, curiosity piqued.

“Not lying to me?” He squinted at Xu Jiahao.

    “Don’t worry, I can’t beat you anyway!”

Jin Mo nodded, “Good that you know.”

Xu Jiahao smiled, pulled the chair, and leaned closer to Jin Mo.

“Actually, it’s not a big deal,” Jin Mo’s gaze fell on the ceiling, “My brother heard my conversation with a classmate and thought I didn’t like him. I heard Jin Mother say that my brother was getting engaged and thought my brother had abandoned me. So, my brother’s heart died, I went crazy, and finally a tragic quarrel erupted, ending with me being hit by a car.”

After listening, Xu Jiahao was stunned for a while, then blurted out, “God, you two are so miserable!”

“The more miserable part is yet to come.”

    “Hmm?”

“I stayed in the hospital for three months. After I came out, I kept avoiding my brother. Then, my brother had a mental breakdown and, afraid of hurting me, hid himself!”

Xu Jiahao completely couldn’t hold back, “This is really bloody!”

Jin Mo glanced at him, it really was bloody!

“I’ve finished speaking, it’s time for you to fulfill your promise!” Jin Mo sat up a little and stared at Xu Jiahao.

    Xu Jiahao coughed.

“My side is…” A trace of shyness appeared on Xu Jiahao’s face.

“What is it? Why do you look so embarrassed!”

“It’s just that, I went to check on your brother a few times at night, and found him…” Xu Jiahao stopped speaking as he said this.

Jin Mo wanted to kick him.

“Ugh, it’s just that your brother always takes your photos when he showers!” Xu Jiahao shouted.

Jin Mo was stunned for a moment, what did that mean?

Takes his photos when he showers?

    What was his brother doing?

    Could it be…

Thinking of this, Jin Mo’s face flushed “red” all of a sudden, and his body also began to fidget.

“Yes, it’s what you’re thinking!” Xu Jiahao added, then picked up the towel and scurried towards the bathroom, adding at the door, “I’ve seen it quite a few times! But, don’t worry, I only saw his shoulders!”

Jin Mo’s face was so red it was about to drip blood.

His brother… really… could always strike his heart.

Just like at this moment, his heart skipped a beat again.

Thinking and thinking, Jin Mo buried his face in the pillow, soft laughter escaping from between the pillows accompanied by a murmured “Brother.”
