The Scent Unique to Cen Xi
Cen Xi was awakened by the ringing of his phone. Sensing that the person in his arms was not fully awake, he picked up the phone, got out of bed, walked to the room’s balcony, and answered.
“What’s up?” Cen Xi’s voice was laced with the annoyance of being woken up.
“Just asking if you two want any late-night snacks,” Zhu Zi’s voice came through the phone. “We’re waiting for you in the lobby.”
Zhu Zi hung up after speaking.
Was that a question? More like a notification!
Cen Xi couldn’t help but curse inwardly. He glanced at his phone; they’d arrived here around 8 or 9 PM, and it was now 11 PM, so they’d slept for about two hours.
Besides, they’d only had one meal in the morning and one airplane meal.
They needed to eat something, or else Yan Bao might wake up starving at some point in the early morning.
Cen Xi woke Luo Yan from his sleep for the second time today, and once again helped Luo Yan get dressed, pulling the still-dazed Luo Yan downstairs to join the others.
“They’re here!” Wu Xinming shouted, waving at Cen Xi and Luo Yan.
Upon seeing Wu Xinming, Luo Yan tugged at Cen Xi, signaling to go in the opposite direction.
Cen Xi, showing no remorse for heading completely the wrong way, leisurely corrected their direction, pulling Luo Yan along towards Wu Xinming and the others.
“What took you two so long?” As soon as they arrived, they were questioned by Wu Xinming, who scanned them up and down, his mind undoubtedly filled with all sorts of nonsense.
“What are you thinking about, Xinming Ge!” Luo Yan rolled his eyes at Wu Xinming. “Do you think we’re people who can’t control ourselves that much?”
Wu Xinming nodded.
“Gege, look at him!” Luo Yan whined, acting coyly, seeking justice from Cen Xi.
“Don’t you know how difficult it is for our little captain to get out of bed?”
Wu Xinming nodded again, suddenly understanding. Indeed, on days that weren’t particularly important, waking up Captain Yan Yan required a great deal of patience, something the entire team, except for Qing Lu, had experienced deeply.
Luo Yan listened in disbelief to Cen Xi’s words. Were those human words? Passing all the blame onto me? Although… it was true that everyone knew about this, that wasn’t an excuse to say it!
The more he thought about it, the angrier Luo Yan became. Finally, he couldn’t resist pinching Cen Xi’s waist hard. Cen Xi didn’t react at all, just looked at him with a smile. It had absolutely no effect on Cen Xi.
“Let’s go, let’s go eat barbecue next door,” Zhu Zi said, taking the lead and walking out.
“Yay, Zhu Zi Ge.” Luo Yan forcefully shook off Cen Xi’s hand and ran to Wu Xinming’s side, walking shoulder to shoulder with him. Behind them, Wu Xinshen and Qing Lu followed slowly, holding hands.
Cen Xi bypassed the young couple and ran to Luo Yan’s side, wanting to take Luo Yan’s hand, but Luo Yan dodged him.
“I was wrong.”
Luo Yan, who was still chatting with Wu Xinming, heard Cen Xi’s apology from the other side. Perhaps fearing that Cen Xi’s image would be damaged, he quickly looked at Wu Xinming, and relaxed after he didn’t find any abnormalities. Although Cen Xi’s voice was very, very quiet, practically a breath.
Only then did Luo Yan turn to look at Cen Xi, who was looking at Luo Yan with a pitiful expression. After catching Luo Yan’s gaze, he silently mouthed, “Husband, I was wrong.”
That was foul play again. Luo Yan really couldn’t handle Cen Xi like this. A single address made his cheeks burn. After all, who could resist a sniper who was usually cold and ruthless on the field, acting weak and wanting to stick close to you in private?
Luo Yan couldn’t resist, and there was nothing he could do. For a moment, he didn’t hear what Wu Xinming was chattering about, and instead grabbed Cen Xi’s hand.
His goal achieved, Cen Xi interlaced his fingers with Luo Yan’s one by one, turning a simple handshake into holding hands tightly.
“Yan Yan, which gun skill do you think I should practice first?”
“Ah? Xinming Ge, could you say that again? I was spacing out just now.”
Wu Xinming looked at Cen Xi, who had slipped to Luo Yan’s side at some point, and understood everything. Spacing out? He was clearly valuing his friend over his partner, heh heh~
“Xinming Ge?”
Wu Xinming was still lamenting his single life when Luo Yan’s words pulled him back. What could he do? He could only repeat his question.
…
“Let’s meet in the lobby at 10 AM tomorrow, I’m afraid you won’t be able to find the training room.”
After finishing the barbecue, the group responded to Zhu Zi’s instructions and returned to their respective rooms.
Luo Yan was preoccupied the entire time with the address Cen Xi had called him. As soon as he returned to the room, he hugged Cen Xi and began to act spoiled. “Gege, say it again.”
“Say what?” Cen Xi asked knowingly.
“Husband.”
“Mm.”
Luo Yan fell into Cen Xi’s trap just like that. After realizing it, Luo Yan pounded Cen Xi’s chest, one hit after another.
To Cen Xi, the strength was like tickling. He knew that Luo Yan was just lightly hitting him to express his shyness.
“Stop hitting me.” Cen Xi grabbed Luo Yan’s hand and lay down on the bed with Luo Yan in his arms. “Husband, that kinda hurts.”
“Ah? Where does it hurt? Is it swollen?” Although Luo Yan knew that he hadn’t used much strength, he was still worried, anxiously pulling open Cen Xi’s clothes, wanting to check his “injury,” no longer paying attention to the address Cen Xi called him.
“Just kidding.” Cen Xi couldn’t hold it in and laughed. “Husband is so good to me, so concerned about me.”
“Don’t do that again.” Luo Yan relaxed and couldn’t help but “scold,” touching his chest. “I’ll panic if you do that.”
“I was wrong.” Cen Xi hugged Luo Yan tightly. “Wake up early tomorrow, go to sleep early.”
“Change clothes.” It wasn’t comfortable to sleep in casual clothes. Luo Yan struggled out of Cen Xi’s arms, took off his clothes, and changed into his pajamas. At the same time, Cen Xi was also changing his pajamas beside him.
The two of them tacitly avoided looking at each other, to avoid accidental arousal.
After changing into their pajamas, Luo Yan snuggled into Cen Xi’s arms again. His embrace was very warm, and he could faintly smell the scent of laundry detergent from Cen Xi’s clothes. Although they used the same laundry detergent, Luo Yan still felt that the fragrance on his body was very different from the fragrance on Cen Xi’s body. Being surrounded made Luo Yan feel particularly safe.
“Good night, Gege,” Luo Yan said, squinting his eyes.
“Good night, Yan Bao.” Cen Xi kissed Luo Yan’s hair and also squinted his eyes.
The curtains in the room were drawn, and moonlight shone in through the cracks. They both slept particularly well this night.
