    Chapter 107 Qin Manwen

    Chapter 107 Qin Manwen

While Xu Jiahao was being tortured, Qin Manwen was sitting in the car, lost in thought.

The phone beeped a few times before he woke up with a start.

He opened the glove compartment, took out a bottle of pills, poured out two, threw them into his mouth, picked up the water beside him, took two sips, and swallowed.

He raised his hand to wipe away a little water that had leaked from the corner of his mouth, and took two more sips before tightening the cap and placing it in the groove beside him.

He reached for the button beside the seat and pressed it, and the car seat was lowered, and he lay down.

This week, he had been traveling a little too frequently, and his body was starting to feel the strain.

He had obtained Jin Mo’s hair, and the report would be out soon. Although he was already certain in his heart that Jin Mo was the son he and his wife, Su Yining, had lost twenty-two years ago.

A week ago, he had just finished a round of chemotherapy, and it was almost ten o’clock when he got home.

Luo Juan came over wanting to serve him, but he pushed her away.

She didn’t make a scene, but leaned against the cabinet to the side, watching him with a sneer, mocking him.

“You’re at this point, and you’re still being so aloof. No matter what, you ended up touching me and planting a seed in my belly. Now, the child is already two months old.”

As she spoke, she touched her stomach, which hadn’t changed at all.

“Your son has been gone for more than twenty years, and you still dream of finding him? What a fool’s errand!”

“You only have a year and a half left to live. If you’re lucky, you might see your seed born. If you’re unlucky, you might not even see it!”

“If you ask me, the one in my belly is, no matter what, your seed. Who else are you going to leave your huge fortune to?”

“Donate it? Are you willing? This is the result of two generations of hard work from your Qin family!”

Qin Manwen’s heart ached from Luo Juan’s words, and his already weak body swayed.

“Even if I donate it, I won’t give you a single cent!” He spat out the words almost gnashing his teeth.

Luo Juan sneered, “Humph, good, you donate it! Then watch from heaven as you die without descendants!”

After saying that, she stomped off in her high heels, full of anger.

Qin Manwen held onto the stair railing, unable to recover for a long time.

    Aunt Ju walked over.

“Manwen, how are you? I’ll help you back to your room!”

Qin Manwen shook his head, sat on the stairs, put his head on his legs, and after a while, he uttered a faint sentence.

“Aunt Ju, do you think I can find Momo in my lifetime?”

    Aunt Ju was silent.

“You also think I can’t find him, right?”

Aunt Ju walked to his side and patted him on the shoulder.

“Manwen, it’s been twenty-two years, if we could find him, we would have found him long ago…”

Qin Manwen lowered his head, and a low sob came from between his legs.

“Manwen, you’re not feeling well, don’t be too sad!” Aunt Ju’s tears also dripped down little by little.

“Yining’s vital signs are also starting to decline. Maybe she knows I’m dying soon, so… Hehe, it’s good to go together, but I’m sorry to her!”

“We agreed that this life would only have each other, but I…”

At this point, he began to sob.

Three months ago, his stomach hurt. When he went to the hospital for a checkup, it turned out to be stomach cancer!

Even with full treatment, the survival period was only one or two years, and the survival rate was less than 10%.

During that time, he was very decadent, abandoned himself, and didn’t expect that after getting drunk, he would actually have a relationship with Luo Juan.

Although, he had no memory of it at all!

The next morning, Luo Juan was indeed lying in his bed.

He knelt in front of Su Yining’s sickbed for a day, repenting for his behavior.

A month later, Luo Juan took the pregnancy test report and said she was pregnant!

How could he not understand that he had fallen into someone else’s trap.

They knew that his only son had been lost for twenty-two years and that no one would take over his business.

They knew that he was terminally ill and beyond cure.

They were sure that he couldn’t just donate such a large family business.

As long as they had his bloodline, they would have him in their grasp!

So, Luo Juan, who had been his secretary for ten years, revealed her true colors and plotted against him.

“Aunt Ju.” He raised his head and looked at Aunt Ju.

Aunt Ju’s eyes were very red, and she comforted, “Manwen, don’t worry!”

“Before I leave, I will definitely take Yining with me. When the time comes, I will leave this house to you, and some money will be left to you. Everything else will be donated, is that okay?”

Aunt Ju’s tears couldn’t stop flowing, and she raised her hand and gave Qin Manwen a light pat.

“Don’t talk nonsense! You should treat your illness properly, why are you talking about leaving?”

“The doctor said that my survival period is only one year, and the survival rate is less than 10%. In such a short time, where can I find Momo! The heart that his mother exhausted her efforts to preserve for him, I’m afraid it will be difficult to give it to him!”

    At this point, he sighed.

“Luo Juan wants to use the child to kidnap me, what a dream!”

“Let alone what happened that night? Whether the child is mine or not? Even if it is, I won’t leave the property to her.”

“People with impure intentions don’t deserve to have it!”

Aunt Ju didn’t speak, just looked at Qin Manwen sadly.

She was a mountain person, and she was married off by her family at a young age. Her husband was ten years older than her, rude and tyrannical, and often beat her beyond recognition.

When she was twenty years old, a heavy rain caused a flash flood, and her husband died.

She didn’t want to go back to her parents’ house, so she left the mountain and found a job as a nanny.

That was when she came to the Qin family, taking care of Qin Manwen, who was just two or three years old, for more than forty years.

In her eyes, Qin Manwen was her son, Su Yining was her daughter, and Qin Momo was her grandson!

When Qin Momo was lost, she cried until her heart broke! In order to pray for finding Momo, she burned incense, worshipped Buddha, and ate Recite the Buddha’s name in a vegetarian way for twenty-two years.

But God didn’t seem to see her actions, didn’t hear her prayers, and miracles never appeared.

Now, even Qin Manwen is about to die, and there is still no news of Qin Momo, how could she not be anxious!

Hearing Luo Juan’s sarcastic words to Qin Manwen, she couldn’t wait to stab her to death with a knife.

“Okay, whatever you want!” She raised her hand and patted Qin Manwen’s arm, “Let’s go, go and rest, until the very end, we must not give up!”

Qin Manwen nodded and, with Aunt Ju’s support, slowly walked towards the bedroom.

When passing by the door of the study, he suddenly had a strange feeling.

“Wait!” He stopped and pushed open the door of the study.

“What’s wrong?” Aunt Ju was a little surprised and followed in.

    “I don’t know!”

Standing at the door, he looked around the study where he had spent decades, the bookshelves, the desk, the chairs…

He scanned over them little by little, and finally, his eyes fell on the drawer of the bookcase.

Inside were photos and videos of Qin Momo as a child, missing person notices, and an old-fashioned cell phone.

He charged it every three days and kept it turned on twenty-four hours a day, just waiting for someone to give him news about Qin Momo.

He had been waiting for twenty-two years.

In the first few years, the phone rang frequently, but then it slowly became silent. After ten years, there were occasionally a few advertisements, and after fifteen years, there were no advertisements at all.

He walked to the bookshelf, raised his hand and pulled open the drawer. What came into view was Qin Momo’s bright smiling face.

He thought, could it be that Qin Momo was also thinking about his family in some corner, making him feel a telepathic connection.

He casually reached out to pick up the phone that was pressing on Qin Momo’s photo, pressed a key, and wanted to see how much battery was left.

As soon as the screen lit up, he was stunned!
