    Chapter 56 Friends

On the first night in the hospital, Xiao Feiwu said he would stay to keep Jin Mo company, but Xu Jiahao pulled him away.

“What are you doing?” Xiao Feiwu growled in a low voice.

“Are you stupid! With his brother here, it’s your turn?” Xu Jiahao said in a hushed voice.

Xiao Feiwu was stunned for a moment, then let out an “oh,” giving Xu Jiahao a thumbs up.

    “You’re the observant one!”

Xu Jiahao rolled his eyes, and the two walked out of the hospital together, heading towards Slow Residence.

After walking for a while, Xiao Feiwu suddenly spoke.

“I’m actually a bit worried about letting Bai Xian stay overnight!”

Xu Jiahao was a bit puzzled.

    “Why?”

“Do you know that Little Mo was in a coma in the hospital for over a month due to a car accident!”

    Xu Jiahao nodded.

“I know, I was still following him then! When he and Jin Baiyan were arguing, I was there, and I saw Jin Mo’s car accident!”

Xu Jiahao felt uncomfortable just thinking about that chaotic scene.

The moment Jin Mo was hit and sent flying, Jin Baiyan was like a plane that had lost power, collapsing directly to the ground!

“For over a month, Baiyan barely left the ICU! If he hadn’t started to smell and people complained, he wouldn’t have left for even a minute!”

    Xu Jiahao nodded.

“I roughly know! Back then, my subject was lying in the ICU, not to mention I was still taking his money, but just based on my friendship with Jin Mo, I had to go see him. Every time I went, I saw Jin Baiyan sitting outside! He was like a ghost!”

“The hospital is actually a nightmare for Baiyan! I’m afraid he…”

    Xiao Feiwu stopped mid-sentence.

    Xu Jiahao wasn’t so pessimistic.

“With Jin Mo here, what’s there to be afraid of?”

Xiao Feiwu thought about it and agreed.

Inside the hospital, Jin Mo had already finished washing up with Bai Xian’s help and was lying in bed, refreshed.

Bai Xian pulled out the accompanying bed and lay down as well.

It was still early, and neither of them was sleepy.

“Bai Xian!” Jin Mo turned to look at Bai Xian on the floor.

Bai Xian was lying face up, looking at the ceiling, his body leaning to one side because of his injuries. He heard Jin Mo’s words and responded with an “mm.”

“Why do you want to stay with me?” Jin Mo asked.

    Bai Xian didn’t answer!

But in his heart, he was asking himself, why?

After thinking for a long time, there was only one answer.

    Because he was worried!

Ever since he saw Jin Mo roll down the ditch, he couldn’t help but stare at Jin Mo, afraid that if he wasn’t careful, Jin Mo would disappear!

    A very strange thought!

But it was a true reflection of his heart!

He turned his head to meet Jin Mo’s gaze.

In the dim light, their eyes locked together.

“I… am not… your brother!” Bai Xian almost forced these words from his chest, so low that it was like a murmur.

    Jin Mo smiled at him.

“I know, without memories, you are just Bai Xian!”

“My brother has already been lost by me!”

“What I have found now is just Bai Xian!”

“Don’t worry, I can tell the difference!”

After hearing this, Bai Xian gave an “mm.”

“Bai Xian, do you like living here?”

    “Mm!”

“That’s good, I’ll stay with you!”

Bai Xian was silent, and after a long time, he asked,

    “For how long?”

    Jin Mo didn’t hesitate.

    “Up to you!”

Bai Xian obviously didn’t expect Jin Mo to answer like this, and he looked at Jin Mo with surprise in his eyes.

    Jin Mo laughed twice.

“We were brothers in our past life, so it’s okay to start as friends in this life!”

    “Friends?”

“Yeah! I want to cook with you, go to the library to read together, go for a morning run together… oh, let’s not mention morning runs, it makes my heart ache!”

    “Hehe!”

Jin Mo was surprised to hear Bai Xian’s low laugh.

“Bai Xian, did you just laugh?”

    “No!”

“You did, I heard it, don’t even think about denying it!”

    “Didn’t!”

“Hmph, it doesn’t matter if you don’t admit it, I heard it anyway!”

The look in Bai Xian’s eyes as he looked at the ceiling held a hint of a smile.

“When my leg is better, let’s go around and explore nearby! I heard there are a lot of fun places nearby!”

“I heard there’s bamboo weaving and batik!”

    “And sinkholes and meadows.”

“Should I open a rural homestay here too?”

“If you run a guesthouse and I open a rural homestay, we’ll probably lose money. It doesn’t look like there are many tourists here. Even Uncle Li’s rural homestay doesn’t seem to have many guests!”

“How about opening a phone and computer repair shop, going back to my old profession?”

“We can have a small storefront next to our guesthouse.”

“Oh, right, you haven’t given me access to the back door yet, have you? When I’m discharged from the hospital, you have to record my face!”

“Has that cat that goes out wandering come back? What does it look like? Is it cute?”

    “Bai Xian…”

As he spoke, his voice faded away.

Bai Xian turned his head and looked at Jin Mo, who had already fallen asleep, and his eyes curved.

Seeing the talkative, lively Jin Mo, the panic in his heart gradually decreased.

    Friends!

Bai Xian had heard this word for the first time in the twenty-plus days since he woke up!

    His mood was very subtle!

Originally, he was walking alone in a desolate and silent world, unable to see a glimmer of light, unable to feel a shred of hope, unable to hear a single bird’s song, and unable to feel a trace of warmth.

Suddenly, someone approached him, walking forward with him, and occasionally chatting with him.

This gave him a feeling of being alive!

No longer living like a walking corpse!

He had a feeling of happiness, and he also experienced a feeling of panic…

    So good!

With such thoughts, Bai Xian had a good night’s sleep for the first time in an unfamiliar place with someone lying next to him!

The next morning, the two woke up almost at the same time.

“Bai Xian!” Jin Mo’s voice carried a hint of sleepiness.

Bai Xian gave an “mm,” got up, folded the accompanying bed, and walked to Jin Mo’s side.

Jin Mo held out his hand.

Bai Xian picked him up and carried him into the bathroom.

“Be careful not to get water on the wound!” Jin Mo said, concerned about Bai Xian’s wound while brushing his teeth.

Bai Xian paused as he was washing his face, avoiding the wound with the towel.

Jin Mo smiled, grabbed Bai Xian’s clothes, and carefully looked at his face.

“When you go downstairs to see the doctor to change your dressing later, can you treat the wound on your face too, okay?” Jin Mo blinked at Bai Xian.

In the past two days, Jin Mo had forced Bai Xian not to wear a mask, and he gradually became less resistant to others seeing his face.

“Or should I go with you?” Jin Mo added.

“No need!” Bai Xian shook off Jin Mo’s hand and replied.

Jin Mo instantly bared his teeth, accidentally blurting out,

“Bai Xian, good boy!” After saying that, he almost bit off his own tongue.

Bai Xian’s face darkened, giving Jin Mo a slightly annoyed look.

Jin Mo pursed his lips and gave a sheepish smile.

“Sorry, slip of the tongue, hehe, slip of the tongue!”

Without saying another word, Bai Xian picked him up, scaring Jin Mo into letting out a scream.

Jin Mo saw Bai Xian’s lips curl up and thought, Bai Xian’s personality of subtly teasing him was just like his brother’s.
