Chapter Index
In the middle of a match…

“The pressure is real.” Wu Xinming sighed, his mind highly focused, his eyes fixed on the screen, observing the surroundings.

“We’ll be there in about 30 seconds. The enemy sniper should also be reaching the flag point. Before we arrive, keep them pinned down. They’re more eager to show themselves than we are.”

Team Shi has fewer kills than SY, and both teams control the same amount of territory. From the current situation, SY has the advantage, but they’re also somewhat passive. A slight misstep could cost them everything.

“If possible, while pinning them down, find the sniper’s location. No sniper, no enemy.”

    “Roger, Xi-ge.”

Sniper, huh? Let’s bait him out… Luring him out in these 30 seconds doesn’t seem impossible.

Wu Xinming emerged from his corner, openly exposing his position. He’s better at baiting tactics than Luo Yan. As an assassin-style infiltrator, he’s more adept at dodging bullets than Luo Yan.

The members of Team Shi in the shadows couldn’t restrain themselves upon seeing Wu Xinming. Hong Shi Zi and Hei Shi Zi exchanged a look and began to move separately.

    Could it be… over there?

Contrary to Hong Shi Zi and Hei Shi Zi’s expectations, Wu Xinming dodged Hong Shi Zi’s shot, but took a hit from Hei Shi Zi.

Both of them together? Fine, let’s play. Wu Xinming changed his route, making himself less passive. Without hesitation, he fired a shot, successfully hitting Hong Shi Zi.

This is a tactic I’ve used to death. Wu Xinming was betting that Team Shi’s coach wouldn’t dare teach them too many assassin tactics. A charging infiltrator transitioning to an assassin-style infiltrator has to be gradual, requiring self-understanding.

This seemingly a battle between two novice assassin-style players against an experienced assassin.

“About 15 seconds left.” Wu Xinshen announced the time after seeing Wu Xinming’s health decreasing. A team habit, to keep teammates informed and encourage survival to stall for time.

    “Understood.”

Their positions must have shifted again. The sniper’s location? Let’s think. If I remember correctly, Bai Shi Zi’s escape ability is a bit weak. And Team Shi should be prioritizing protecting their sniper this round. Therefore, the infiltrator must constantly monitor the sniper’s status and be able to protect the sniper immediately. Wu Xinming thought while dodging attacks, so it should be…

“Record the infiltrators’ locations, call them out. I’ll estimate the sniper’s location.”

What Wu Xinming could think of, Cen Xi also thought of.

“They probably won’t dare to recklessly fire anymore. They’re running low on cash.”

Luo Yan mentally calculated both sides’ economic expenditures. When the opponent fired a bullet, someone on the team would announce it to help Luo Yan and Cen Xi calculate.

“Yeah, probably within 500.” Cen Xi added, “Call out the locations, I’ve got my gun ready.”

Cen Xi opened the map, and Wu Xinming began to call out the locations where Hong Shi Zi and Hei Shi Zi had been. After marking these locations in his mind, Cen Xi roughly determined the sniper’s location.

“Xinming-ge, I’ll cover you. Find a place to heal up.”

Wu Xinming’s health bar was in critical condition. It was already difficult enough to survive until now with Hong Shi Zi and Hei Shi Zi’s random sprays and Bai Shi Zi’s shots under their cover.

    “Finally here, I’m exhausted.”

“I’ll slowly approach the flag point first. You two cover me after you’ve recovered.”

Wu Xinshen wasn’t idle either, immediately entering combat mode.

Under Luo Yan’s cover, Wu Xinming found a spot to recover his health.

“By the way, ge, don’t hide behind the obstacle 10 steps away from the flag point. I have a feeling the enemy beast master is lurking there.”

Wu Xinming heard heavier footsteps than Hong Shi Zi and Hei Shi Zi’s when he approached that area earlier, making him feel that something was off.

The sniper couldn’t be there, so the only possibility was a beast master lurking there, or he misheard.

“Okay.” Wu Xinshen changed his route. He had initially favored that spot as well.
