    Quarreling???

As the official competition drew nearer, the training schedule became increasingly tight. It wasn’t until two days before the competition that the SY team finally relaxed. On this day, they were to draw lots online to determine their first-round opponent.

There are a total of 21 teams in the ZD League, randomly assigned. In theory, one team should get a bye in the first round. However, the ZD game adopts a point system. Winning once earns one point, and successfully occupying all territories in a round (except for one-territory maps) also earns one point. After each of the 21 teams plays four matches, they are ranked by points. The last five teams are eliminated. If multiple teams have the same score, the bottom teams will have additional matches, but the points earned in these matches do not count towards the overall standings.

SY’s first-round opponent was Team Shi, a team ranked 16th last time.

“Team Shi, it’s been a while since we’ve seen them. I wonder if they’ve developed any new tactics. They didn’t even ask for a practice match during the training period.”

Seeing their first-round opponent, Wu Xinming immediately relaxed and leaned back in his chair. Team Shi is a mid-tier team in ZD. SY has always won against them, never losing.

“Don’t be careless.” Wu Xinshen disapproved of Wu Xinming’s attitude and kicked him. “Stay vigilant.”

“Bro, don’t hit me for no reason. Remember, the only reason you’re my brother is that you were born a few minutes before me!”

“Hmm?” Wu Xinshen glared at Wu Xinming.

Wu Xinming felt a murderous aura from the face that resembled his own, and his momentum instantly weakened. He muttered softly, “Always lecturing me.”

“Xinming, Xinshen is right. Team Shi has a new coach. They poached the coach from FOB. It’s said that they’re aiming for the top ten this time and have been in seclusion.”

Luo Yan shared everything he knew.

“That’s right. Facing Team Shi now is full of unknowns. We need to be careful. Wu Xinming, put aside some of your thoughts and stay vigilant.” Zhu Zi added.

“Got it, brothers. When have I ever not been serious on the field? I’m always the most dedicated during matches.”

Wu Xinming wasn’t wrong about that. His usual demeanor and his demeanor during matches were vastly different.

“If we win the first three games, Qing Lu will play in the last two. Any objections?” Zhu Zi asked for everyone’s opinion. Matches are best-of-five, and all five games must be played, regardless of the outcome. This is a strict requirement to give teams more opportunities to earn points for occupying the entire map.

“The last game, Zhu Zi. Let’s fight for the full-map points, we can’t completely use the match for training.” Cen Xi countered Zhu Zi’s suggestion. “We can’t treat the competition as a training camp. If necessary, the four of us will play all five games.”

“But what if we need to use Qing Lu in later matches, but he’s not mentally prepared for competition?” Qing Lu’s skills and awareness were gradually improving, but his mental state during competitions still needed work.

“He needs to adjust himself. That’s how every player gets here.” Luo Yan changed his usual demeanor and didn’t comfort Qing Lu. He said in front of Qing Lu, “If we think we’re capable of taking all the points on the map, we must play. Unless we’re not in good condition and don’t have the ability, then we’ll let Qing Lu play and practice. We still need to get the points we can, Zhu Zi.”

“Sorry, it’s my fault.” As a coach, Zhu Zi couldn’t bear to see a promising player make numerous mistakes in a match due to their mental state. Therefore, he wanted to give Qing Lu more opportunities to practice. However, a competition is not a game, and training cannot be rushed.

“You have to regulate your own mentality. If you can’t regulate it, no matter how much you practice, it’s useless.” Wu Xinming looked at Qing Lu. After saying this, he turned and left the base. The others also found excuses to follow him out. Zhu Zi said a few more words to Qing Lu before leaving the base as well.

Alone, Qing Lu stayed in the base, sitting in his seat, staring at the character on the computer screen. No one but himself knew what he was thinking.

“Do you think this will work?” Wu Xinming asked.

The few who left the base regrouped at the entrance.

“Maybe, perhaps, possibly?” Zhu Zi was uncertain.

“Hopefully.” Luo Yan was also unsure.

Wu Xinshen didn’t say anything, just looked at the base gate with a worried expression.

The scene just now was something they had improvised to show Qing Lu, in order to make him realize the importance of his mental state, to find the reason why he was nervous and made mistakes in training matches, and to overcome this mentality. From the training during this period, it was clear that Qing Lu hadn’t realized his mental flaw. He kept thinking that his skills were not good enough and worked hard to improve them, or rather, he was aware of the problem, but he wanted to subconsciously avoid it.

Everyone wanted Qing Lu to grow. They had to bring this issue up again before the official competition, they had to push him, otherwise, when they needed him in the official competition, he would be even less able to handle the situation.
