    Chapter 2 Reunion

After leaving the SY Base, Luo Yan took a car to the Downtown Bar. This was where Luo Yan and Cen Xi first met, and the place Luo Yan invariably visited whenever he felt emotionally overwhelmed in the past three years.

“Shi Ge, you’re the same as ever,” Luo Yan called out.

“Little brother, you’re here again. The last time you came was three months ago.” Gu Shi chatted with Luo Yan while making a cocktail, “How did that competition you mentioned last time go? Did you win?”

Luo Yan forced a smile, concealing the emotions in his heart, “We stopped at the top eight.”

“Does that mean eighth place? That’s still pretty impressive.” Gu Shi didn’t pay attention to the “ZD” game competitions. To be precise, he didn’t follow any eSports competitions.

Gu Shi handed the mixed drink to Luo Yan and once again reminded him, “Drink slowly. This drink is a bit strong. Drinking it too fast or too much can easily make you tipsy.”

“Got it, Shi Ge.” Luo Yan took the drink. “Shi Ge, you don’t have to worry about me. You go ahead and work. I’ll leave after I finish this drink.”

Gu Shi glanced at the bar, there were still several customers waiting. Both bartenders had requested leave tonight, and Gu Shi was a little overwhelmed. But he inexplicably felt that Luo Yan’s mood was off. His sixth sense told him to keep an eye on Luo Yan, but he was too busy right now, he could only remind Luo Yan, “Drink slowly, and don’t finish it all. Have some awareness of your alcohol tolerance.”

“Yeah.” Luo Yan responded perfunctorily, clearly not taking Gu Shi’s words to heart.

Gu Shi went back to mixing drinks. Luo Yan stared at the drink, lost in thought. He didn’t like alcohol. This drink was Cen Xi’s favorite. Whenever he missed him terribly, he would come here to drink a little bit, sipping a small amount. He didn’t know if he was being pathetic. Cen Xi had left without saying goodbye, but he couldn’t forget him, nor could he bring himself to hate him. His longing for him grew day by day.

Luo Yan picked up the glass and downed the drink in one gulp. He didn’t have to play any matches or train for the next week. It was okay to get drunk once. He also wanted to let his mind be unclear once, so he wouldn’t have to think about so many things, and could relax properly.

The alcohol hit him. Luo Yan propped himself up on the bar with his hands and struggled to stand up. He shook his head a few times and staggered out of the bar. By the time Gu Shi looked back at where Luo Yan had been sitting, Luo Yan was long gone.

At this moment, the nightlife of young people had just begun.

A bustling crowd passed by Luo Yan, playing and joking. In contrast, Luo Yan was out of place. He hung his head and walked aimlessly down the street. No one knew what he was thinking. He himself didn’t know where he was going. Suddenly, he smelled the aroma of cake. Luo Yan picked up his phone and looked at the date. Sure enough, he had forgotten something important. He looked toward the cake shop in the distance. Brother, your birthday is here again. When can I celebrate your birthday with you again? If you don’t come back, I’ll forget what you look like.

Luo Yan’s eyes stung, and he followed the scent of the cake.

“I know, Sister, I just returned to the country… There’s no need to know the password for the house, I have the key… After I settle down and find a suitable team, I’ll go back to see Mom and Dad…”

A familiar yet unfamiliar voice entered Luo Yan’s ears. He looked towards the source of the voice. Was it his brother? He wasn’t sure. He walked closer and saw that it really was Cen Xi.

He couldn’t hold back anymore. Luo Yan walked up to Cen Xi, first giving him a slap to express his dissatisfaction over the years, and then directly bursting into tears in Cen Xi’s arms.

“You still know how to come back!” Luo Yan accused.

Cen Xi was inexplicably slapped, and felt somewhat angry, but he vaguely smelled a hint of alcohol. *Forget it, I won’t argue with a drunkard,* he consoled himself. He wanted to peel off Luo Yan, who was lying in his arms, and patiently said, “Sir, you’ve mistaken me for someone else.”

Luo Yan was a little unsure after hearing those words. He raised his head and stared at Cen Xi, scrutinizing him carefully. Three years had passed, and Cen Xi hadn’t changed much, only his brow bones had become a little sharper. “How is that possible! You look exactly like Cen Xi Gege. I can’t be mistaken. Tell me! Why did you leave the SY team without a word back then? Do you know how difficult it has been for me to keep the SY team going for you all these years? Xin Shen Ge and Xin Ming Ge are waiting for you to come back. You owe us an explanation.”

Cen Xi was stunned to hear his long-forgotten real name. All these years, he had been staying in the WSW team, wearing a mask on the field and changing his voice to play the matches. Xi Xue was the name he had heard the most in those years.

“Did I know you before? I’m sorry, I’ve lost several years of memories. I really don’t remember you.” Cen Xi said apologetically.

Luo Yan was also stunned after hearing that. He found it absurd, but also inexplicably reasonable. Amnesia could explain why Cen Xi didn’t come back, but why would he be back at this time?

“Impossible, right?” Luo Yan looked incredulous. “Brother, are you trying to break up with me? This joke isn’t funny at all. Although I resent you for leaving without saying goodbye, I don’t want to break up. Let’s not break up, okay?”

“Ah? Break up?” This time it was Cen Xi’s turn to look incredulous. He looked at Luo Yan in his arms, his mind filled with confusion. *Is this my boyfriend?*

Luo Yan hugged Cen Xi tightly. “Brother, even if you really lost your memory, you can’t abandon me after we started.”

With this hug from Luo Yan, the scent on him all reached Cen Xi’s nose. The scent of alcohol was mixed with a strangely familiar scent of vanilla, making Cen Xi feel very comfortable.

*This scent… I seem to have smelled it before, but…* Cen Xi mobilized all his brain cells to start recalling, *I forgot where I smelled it.*

“Little brother, let go of me first. I’ll send you back first, okay?” Cen Xi softly discussed with Luo Yan. “After you sober up, we’ll talk properly, okay?”

Luo Yan wiggled a few times in Cen Xi’s arms, expressing his dissatisfaction.

Seeing Luo Yan’s appearance, Cen Xi knew that he was prepared to stick with him to the end tonight. He gave up discussing with Luo Yan, directly picked up Luo Yan in his arms, and decided to take him back to his house first. He seemed to be this person’s boyfriend after all, so he couldn’t possibly leave him on the street to fend for himself. *Forget it, let’s take him away first.* *Also… the team’s matter… I’ll look for them in a few days. There’s still a month until the competition, and half a month for practice should be enough time.*
