    “Brother! Why?”

Cen Xi walked faster and faster, Luo Yan grabbed Cen Xi tightly. Eventually, the two stopped at the entrance of the bar, and they stood there, neither of them speaking.

“Don’t block other people’s door, let’s go, I’ll treat you to a late-night snack.” Cen Xi took one last look at the bar, though reluctant, he decisively left and walked towards the restaurant next door.

    “Brother!”

Cen Xi turned to look at Luo Yan.

    “Wait for me.”

Luo Yan jumped directly onto Cen Xi’s back. Cen Xi felt the strong impact from behind and subconsciously reached back to catch Luo Yan.

“Aren’t you afraid of falling?” Cen Xi’s tone was accusatory, he stopped and turned to look at Luo Yan on his back.

“What’s there to be afraid of, anyway, you’ll catch me, what am I afraid of!” Luo Yan said confidently, full of trust in Cen Xi.

“Don’t do this next time.” Cen Xi pinched Luo Yan’s thigh to show punishment, carrying Luo Yan step by step towards the restaurant.

Luo Yan leaned on Cen Xi’s shoulder, lost in thought. If his brother didn’t want to say the reason, he wouldn’t say it. It was his freedom to forgive whoever he wanted. Twice it was “not worth it,” how could two “not worth it” statements excuse all the hurt he suffered in these three years?

His brother was just too kind and soft-hearted.

“Let’s go back, brother, I don’t want to eat.”

Cen Xi stopped, and after a few seconds, he replied in a muffled voice, “Okay.”

    ……

Just before getting into the car, Cen Xi looked at Gu Shi’s bar again. Goodbye, never again.

After Cen Xi got into the car, Luo Yan noticed Cen Xi’s eyes, the corners were so red. Had he been holding it in? To keep me from worrying?

“Cry if you want to, don’t hold it in, holding it in is bad for your health.”

    “I want to hug you.”

Cen Xi lowered his head, his voice a little choked. He looked like a wounded puppy, fragile and helpless.

Luo Yan’s heart twinged. He climbed directly from the passenger seat into Cen Xi’s arms, facing him, sitting on Cen Xi’s lap, and hugged Cen Xi’s neck. “Brother, I’m here.”

Cen Xi hugged Luo Yan’s waist tightly, and the more he hugged, the tighter he held on. The wounded puppy finally found his support and cried, crying harder and harder. The more he cried, the more Luo Yan’s heart ached.

Luo Yan had never seen Cen Xi so weak. He felt that the person in front of him would shatter completely with the slightest touch. He didn’t know how to comfort Cen Xi. “Brother, it’s okay, no matter what, I will be by your side. You don’t have to pretend in front of me, do whatever you want.”

In the end, Luo Yan, who rarely drove but had a driver’s license, drove the car back, and Cen Xi fell asleep in the passenger seat.

    “We’re here, brother.”

Luo Yan unbuckled his seatbelt and looked at Cen Xi, who didn’t seem to have been woken up by him. The tears had flowed down like this just now. Luo Yan traced the tear marks, stroking Cen Xi’s face, and finally touched Cen Xi’s eyes. His eyes were swollen from crying. His brother must be very sad. Gu Shi was the first friend Cen Xi introduced Luo Yan to in his world. It was evident how important Gu Shi was in Cen Xi’s heart.

Luo Yan was still lost in thought and didn’t notice that Cen Xi had opened his eyes and quickly grabbed Luo Yan’s hand, aiming clearly to kiss Luo Yan’s lips, not deeply, just a fleeting touch, and then left.

Luo Yan hadn’t reacted to the kiss before it was over.

“I haven’t forgiven any of them. I just feel that punishment is really not necessary. I’m not particularly concerned about the truth of this matter either, but I also want to thank you, Yan Bao.”

Cen Xi looked at Luo Yan’s eyes with full of love, but also with exhaustion.

“You let me see Gu Shi’s true thoughts about me. I thought that as long as I tried to enlighten him, he could get out of that sad event, but I didn’t expect that his hatred for me would be so deep.”

“Yan Bao, I lost my brother.”
