    Chapter [Number] Unnamed Draft

“Why are you apologizing?” Cen Xi asked, following Li Yu’s words.

Li Yu didn’t dare to speak.

“If there’s really someone behind you instructing you, as long as you tell me, I won’t hold it against you.”

Cen Xi left a way out for Li Yu.

“Really?” Li Yu’s voice trembled. He couldn’t believe that after harming him like this, he would actually let him off.

Cen Xi nodded, not saying anything, watching Li Yu with an inscrutable gaze, waiting for his answer.

“I only know his last name is Gu.”

The surname Gu was very common, but Cen Xi only knew three people with that surname: Gu Shi, Gu Jin, and Gu Chen, the three members of the Gu family. Gu Jin had passed away early due to illness, and now only the two brothers, Gu Shi and Gu Chen, remained in the Gu family.

Could they be involved? It shouldn’t be, right?

But… they know about my past…

The Gu family and the Cen family were family friends, and the two families had a long-term cooperative relationship. There were no secrets between the two families.

Cen Xi was suspicious, but he couldn’t believe it.

When Li Yu said that the person’s last name was Gu, the first name that popped into Luo Yan’s mind was also Gu Shi. But for the past three years, he had often gone to Gu Shi’s bar. Gu Shi knew he was looking for Cen Xi, but why didn’t Gu Shi tell him any news about Cen Xi? He just watched him get drunk in the bar for Cen Xi time and time again. Why?

Luo Yan couldn’t understand. He had already regarded Gu Shi as a confidant older brother, but one day, his confidant older brother might become the culprit of all his sadness. To be honest, Luo Yan couldn’t believe it in his heart either.

Luo Yan tugged at the corner of Cen Xi’s clothes, “Brother, what do you think?”

Cen Xi knew who Luo Yan was thinking about. He was the one who introduced Luo Yan to Gu Shi. He and Gu Shi could be considered childhood sweethearts, friends who had grown up together. How could he stab him in the back?

The problem was, he couldn’t think of any other Gu surname who knew about his past.

“I don’t know, maybe.” Cen Xi sighed, “Let’s go ask. It just so happens that I haven’t seen him since I returned to the country.”

Considering all the circumstances, Gu Shi had become a thorn in Cen Xi’s heart. If the thorn wasn’t removed, the trust between the two would disappear sooner or later. It was better to pull out the thorn early.

    Prepare yourself mentally…

Prepare to accept the worst outcome…

“Thank you,” Cen Xi said to Li Yu. “I won’t pursue it, but I won’t forgive you either. This ‘thank you’ is for thanking you for telling me all of this.”

“Next time we meet, it should be on the field.”

“In reality, I won’t pursue it, but on the field, I might vent my anger.”

“I’m telling you in advance, be prepared.”

    “Let’s go.”

After Cen Xi finished speaking, he pulled Luo Yan away.

Li Yu sat on the chair motionless. Did they really just leave like that?

He thought Cen Xi would make things difficult for him, that he would be forced to leave the arena. He knew Cen Xi’s background. As long as he revealed this matter, his future would be over.

He didn’t expect Cen Xi to let him go like that.

    He didn’t understand…

    Didn’t understand?

Li Yu smiled bitterly. He understood. After all, Cen Xi was that kind of person, wasn’t he?

Li Yu cried as he smiled. He was wrong.

Was Cen Xi not pursuing the matter because he was too lazy to pursue it?

Cen Xi was just pitying him. From beginning to end, Cen Xi had not been angry because of his words. Cen Xi looked down on him. In Cen Xi’s eyes, he was just an ant jumping around blindly. Even if this ant had hurt him, Cen Xi wouldn’t care.

He didn’t care, so he didn’t pursue it.
