    Chapter 73 I am yours

The two of them didn’t stay much longer after receiving their certificates, and were ready to return home.

When the plane landed, the neon lights of the city had not completely faded away, and a faint orange glow appeared on the horizon.

Lu Jin took Xie Shuhan’s hand and walked out of the terminal. Where their fingertips intertwined, there was still the breath of the foreign breeze at the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau.

The wheels of the suitcase rolled over the smooth ground, making a crisp sound that was intertwined with the steady heartbeats of the two of them.

After getting into the car, Xie Shuhan leaned on Lu Jin’s shoulder, his fingertips repeatedly rubbing the small red notebook in his pocket.

Lu Jin looked down at him, unable to hide the smile at the end of his eyes. He reached out and rubbed the top of his soft hair. His voice was low and gentle: “Sleepy? Sleep on my shoulder for a while. I’ll call you when I get home.”

Xie Shuhan gave a soft “hmm” and buried his face deeper.

The familiar smell of cedar lingers on the tip of the nose, which belongs to the two of them.

When I got home, it was already bright.

As soon as Xie Shuhan put the suitcase in the entrance hall, he was hugged by Lu Jin from behind.

Her warm chest pressed against his back, and her deep voice sounded a bit coquettish: “Call your parents first.”

    Xie Shuhan nodded.

Lu Jin first picked up the phone and dialed Lu Weiting’s number.

The moment the call was connected, Lu Weiting’s hearty voice came from the other side: “You brat, what’s the matter?”

Lu Jin curled his lips, put his arms around Xie Shuhan’s waist, and brought him into his arms. His voice was filled with a smile that couldn’t be hidden: “Dad, we have received the certificate.”

There was silence on the other end of the phone for a few seconds, and then a voice came: “You brat, do important things quietly, remember, you must be good to Hanhan, you know?”

“Sure, don’t worry.” Lu Jin smiled.

“Okay, come back for dinner when you have time. After receiving the certificate, you are ready to take over the company’s affairs.” Lu Weiting said. Lu Jin took over, and he also had time to go out for his honeymoon with his wife.

“I know, I know.” Lu Jin said. He still didn’t know what Old Man Lu was thinking.

    Xie Shuhan couldn’t help laughing.

After Lu Jin hung up the phone, Xie Shuhan also dialed Xie Qing’s number.

But it was Nangong Wan who answered the phone, and her voice was so gentle: “Hanhan?”

“Mom, Ajin and I have received the certificate.”

There was silence on the other end of the phone for a moment, and then Nangong Wan’s voice of surprise came: “Really? That’s great, husband, did you hear it? Hanhan and Xiaolu have received their certificates.”

Xie Shuhan heard Xie Qing’s helpless voice on the other end of the phone: “I heard it, I heard it, please keep your voice down.”

Nangong Wan’s voice was still full of excitement: “Xiaohan, when will you take Xiaolu home? Mom will prepare delicious food for you.”

Xie Shuhan turned to look at Lu Jin, who was looking at him tenderly, the smile in his eyes as warm as the sun.

“Mom, we will go back when we have time.” Xie Shuhan said softly.

“Okay, mom is waiting for you to come back.”

After hanging up the phone, Xie Shuhan threw himself into Lu Jin’s arms and laughed muffledly.

Lu Jin hugged him tightly, resting his chin on the top of his hair, and said in a low and gentle voice, “Look, they are all very happy.”

Xie Shuhan nodded and buried his face in his neck, feeling his warm body temperature.

In the next few days, the two were busy going back to their parents’ homes for dinner and receiving their family’s blessings.

Lu Weiting and Ms. Tan took Xie Shuhan’s hand, asked him about his welfare, and wanted to give him all the good things.

Xie Qing and Nangong Wan were laughing from ear to ear. Seeing the two children smiling at each other, their eyes were full of joy.

The days are dull and happy, like a cup of warm boiled water, but full of sweetness.

One morning a few days later, Xie Shuhan woke up as soon as it got bright.

He turned his head and looked at Lu Jin, who was sleeping soundly next to him. His silver-gray hair was messy and stuck to his forehead, and his long eyelashes cast a shadow under his eyelids. He looked like a well-behaved large dog.

Xie Shuhan couldn’t help but stretched out his hand, and lightly traced his eyebrows with his fingertips.

Lu Jin’s eyelashes trembled, and he opened his eyes. There was a faintness in his eyes as if he had just woken up. He reached out and pulled him into his arms, and his voice was hoarse: “Are you awake? Let’s sleep a little longer.”

Xie Shuhan shook his head, got out of his arms, and said with a smile: “I have to join a law firm today, so I can’t be late.”

Lu Jin then remembered this and reluctantly let go of his hand, watching Xie Shuhan walk into the cloakroom.

Not long after, Xie Shuhan walked out wearing a well-tailored black suit.

The collar of his shirt was tied meticulously and his tie was tied just right, which made him stand tall and upright, and his temperament was cold and noble.

Lu Jin’s eyes lit up, he rolled out of bed and hugged his waist from behind.

His strong arms tightened, locking the person firmly in his arms, and his chin rested on the back of his neck, his voice a little aggrieved: “Honey, I don’t want you to leave.”

Xie Shuhan chuckled, raised his hand and patted his hand around his waist: “Aren’t you going to the company today?”

“I want to go.” Lu Jin rubbed the crook of his neck, and his warm breath spread on his skin, making Xie Shuhan itch. “But I want to be with you for a while longer.”

Xie Shuhan turned around and reached out to hold his face.

The morning light filtered in through the gaps in the curtains and fell on Lu Jin’s silver-gray hair, giving it a faint sheen.

Seeing the reluctance in Lu Jin’s eyes, he felt so soft that he stood up on his tiptoes and pressed a gentle kiss on his lips.

“Okay, I really have to leave.” Xie Shuhan’s voice was so gentle, “It’s better to be on time on the first day of employment.”

Lu Jin looked at his serious look and sighed helplessly, but still couldn’t bear to let go.

He stared at Xie Shuhan’s white and slender fingers for a few seconds. Suddenly his eyes lit up. He turned around and walked to the bedside table and took out a velvet box from the drawer.

Xie Shuhan’s eyes were attracted and he saw Lu Jin kneeling on one knee and carefully opening the box.

Inside lies a ring with a simple design. The platinum ring is inlaid with a small diamond, which sparkles in the morning light.

“This is…” Xie Shuhan’s heart skipped a beat, and his eyes were full of surprise.

Lu Jin raised his head, his eyes full of piety.

He held Xie Shuhan’s hand and slowly put the ring on his ring finger.

The ring was just the right size, fitting his knuckles with a slightly cool touch.

“Customized for you.” Lu Jin’s voice was a little nervous, like a puppy waiting for praise, “Do you like it?”

Xie Shuhan looked down at the ring on his hand, his eyes burning slightly.

He could imagine how Lu Jin felt when he customized the ring.

Seeing the anticipation in Lu Jin’s eyes, Xie Shuhan nodded: “I like it very much, thank you A Jin.”

Lu Jin’s eyes lit up. He stood up and hugged him tightly. His voice was a little frightened: “My wife is so beautiful. I have to hold her tightly, otherwise she will be snatched away. I won’t have anywhere to cry.”

Xie Shuhan couldn’t help but laugh out loud, raised his hands and put his arms around his neck, and kissed him on the lips again. His voice was gentle but firm: “I am yours, no one can take it away.”

Lu Jin grabbed the back of his neck, lowered his head and kissed him.

The kiss was gentle and lingering, full of joy and treasure.

After being embarrassed for a long time, Xie Shuhan reluctantly pushed Lu Jin away.

He picked up the briefcase placed in the entrance hall, which contained a letter of recommendation from his mentor and various certificates.

Lu Jin sent him downstairs, not forgetting to tell him: “Remember to call me at noon, and I will pick you up in the evening.”

Xie Shuhan nodded with a smile and waved to him.

He looked down at the ring on his hand and couldn’t help but curve the corners of his lips in a gentle arc.

Jingyi Law Firm is located in an office building in the city center, which is grand and solemn.

Xie Shuhan pushed the door open and walked in.

When the little girl at the front desk saw him, her eyes lit up and she immediately stood up to greet him: “Hello, how can I help you?”

Xie Shuhan handed over the recommendation letter from his mentor and said in a gentle voice: “Hello, I’m here to join the company. My name is Xie Shuhan.”

The little girl at the front desk took the letter of recommendation, took a look at it, and the smile on her face became even more enthusiastic: “Hello, Lawyer Xie! Please follow me, the entry processing office is over here.”

Xie Shuhan followed her through the spacious and bright hall.

He was wearing a crisp suit, with an upright posture and a cool and dignified temperament, which attracted the side glances of employees passing by.

“Who is this? He looks so good-looking, doesn’t he?”

“I heard that he is a new lawyer. He seems to be a top student who graduated from Tsinghua University.”

“You come to Jingyi Law Firm at such a young age? That’s amazing!”

The sound of discussion drifted intermittently into Xie Shuhan’s ears, but he seemed not to hear it. He just lowered his eyes slightly and walked calmly.

The process of joining the office was very smooth. The elder sister in charge looked at Xie Shuhan’s resume and couldn’t help but praise: “Lawyer Xie is really young and promising. He has a bright future.”

Xie Shuhan smiled politely and said “thank you”.

After completing the formalities, the girl at the front desk took him to the office area and pointed to a seat by the window: “Lawyer Xie, this is your seat.”

Xie Shuhan thanked him, put down his briefcase, pulled out his chair and sat down.

The sun shines in through the floor-to-ceiling windows and falls on the desk, making it warm and bright.

He looked out the window at the busy streets, then looked down at the ring on his hand, and the corners of his lips curved in a gentle arc.
