Chapter Index

    Fog covers my heart

Qiu Yin’an looked at him suspiciously, “What kind of trouble are you causing?”

Linghu took two steps forward and said, “In today’s world of cultivation, the power of the witch clan is overwhelming. I just ask the master to remember the friendship in the past, stop the great witch master, and give him a way out in the future.”

Qiu Yin’an: “You see it more clearly than he does.”

Linghu: “He is only occupied by you, that’s why he is so confused.”

Qiu Yinan sighed bitterly, “Don’t say this, lead the way. As long as I can take Yao Ye away, I will keep my promise and let Wan Qiongju give him a way out.”

Qiu Yin’an followed Linghu and walked deeper into the Spirit Beast Mountain. The further he walked, the thicker the fog became. It was so thick that no one could be seen even at half an arm’s length.

“Wait a minute, I can’t keep up with you.” Qiu Yin’an called.

“This fog has no effect on the spiritual beasts in the mountains. I forgot for a moment that outsiders would not be able to see clearly.” The spirit fox passed through the fog and returned to Qiu Yin’an. He pulled Qiu Yin’an’s sleeve and continued to lead the people forward.

As they walked, Qiu Yin’an murmured inwardly, “I took Yao Ye away, what will you do? Bai Chengying will not let you go lightly.”

Linghu looked back and smiled: “I have been with him for so many years, but he will never kill me. He has feelings for me.”

Qiu Yin’an didn’t know what Bai Chengying did that made Linghu mistakenly think that he had feelings for him.

Bai Chengying was the most cruel. He kept saying that he loved her, but he could stab him three times in a row, not to mention that he was just being used as a substitute. Qiu Yin’an had a vague feeling that the end of Linghu would not be good.

Qiu Yin’an looked at Linghu’s back and finally couldn’t bear it, “If you are in trouble one day, just go back to Xishan Palace. I will take you in again and you will be doing good deeds.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.” Linghu shook Qiu Yin’an’s sleeves, tilted his head and chuckled: “Master is such a good person. If he weren’t here, I really want to go back to Xishan Palace and be your spiritual pet forever.”

Qiu Yin’an sighed dullly and did not answer him.

The further we go up, the lighter the fog becomes.

The two climbed the stone steps for nearly half an hour and stopped at a cliff. There was an exquisite house hanging on the cliff. Linghu pointed out: “Yao Ye is inside.”

Qiu Yin’an pointed out a spiritual light and said, “I can’t sense the barrier here. Let me find out how to break it without disturbing Bai Chengying.”

Linghu: “He didn’t set up a barrier.”

Qiu Yin’an raised his eyebrows, “Bai Chengying didn’t set up a barrier? Isn’t he afraid that Yao Ye will run away?”

Linghu thought deeply: “Maybe the fog is heavy, but I’m sure Yao Ye can’t go anywhere.”

Qiu Yin’an complained as he strode inside, “It’s true that Yao Ye didn’t even have a barrier, but he was trying to find a way to escape, so he pointed at me to save him.”

As soon as he opened the door, he saw Yao Ye leaning on the chair, his feet raised high, resting on the edge of the table, his head in one hand, and a book in the other hand, squinting slightly, reading extremely seriously.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, Yao Ye slowly turned his head. It seemed that the person was Qiu Yin’an. His eyes widened suddenly, then he dropped the book and rushed over, “I knew you would definitely come to save me.”

Qiu Yin’an clicked her tongue, “I will save you, but you have to work hard on your own anyway. This barrier is not set up. You can at least take a few steps outside and try.”

Yao Ye giggled twice, “I can’t escape Bai Chengying’s clutches even if I run away. It’s better to just wait for you to pick me up.”

Qiu Yin’an glanced at the refreshments on the table, rolled up his sleeves and said, “I never thought you could still live such a leisurely life after being kidnapped. Fortunately, I don’t have to worry about you.”

Yao Ye: “Aren’t we living in the present? Do you have to see me covered in wounds to be satisfied?”

Qiu Yin’an: “I didn’t mean that, but I didn’t expect Bai Chengying to be quite nice to you.”

Yao Ye: “He may not have a bad nature. After all, he is from Qingxuan Peak. He comes from a legitimate sect, but he is occasionally too impulsive.”

Qiu Yin’s eyebrows sank slightly, “Are you speaking for him?”

“How can I speak for him?” Yao Ye hurriedly patted Qiu Yin’an’s arm and comforted him twice. He then glanced at the spirit fox following Qiu Yin’an, “How could he bring you here? Bai Chengying gave in?”

Qiu Yin’an: “How is that possible? Don’t worry about this matter. Let’s leave quickly.”

Yao Ye: “I’m worried about fraud. Isn’t he following Bai Chengying wholeheartedly? How could he be so kind to help us?”

Linghu explained: “Don’t worry, Lord Yao, I also have selfish motives in this matter. Only if my master leaves Spirit Beast Mountain as soon as possible can he have time to deal with me.”

“You—” Yao Ye was speechless, “If Bai Chengying finds out, you’ll be finished.”

Qiu Yin’an sighed. He had always been concerned about Linghu’s safety. He took out a peace talisman and handed it to Linghu, “This talisman can save your life at this critical moment. I have been studying this talisman for a long time. I originally wanted to give it to Wan Qiongju when he got married. Thank you for today’s matter. Just take it first.”

Linghu refused, “Master, don’t worry about me, he won’t be so cruel as to kill me.”

Yao Ye pulled the talisman and forced it to Linghu, “Take it, otherwise Yin’an will not worry about you. He has many good things to give to Wan Qiongju, including this peace talisman.”

Linghu shook the talisman and his eyes flashed, “Thank you, Master.”

Qiu Yin’an: “Take us out of here quickly. If we delay any longer, I’m afraid Bai Chengying will find out.”

Qiu Yin’an just took a step forward, and Yao Ye held him back.

Yao Ye: “Yin’an, please lend me the soul-protecting lamp. I’m afraid that Bai Chengying will attack me again and I will cause trouble to you again. If you put the soul-protecting lamp here, I can resist him.”

“I’m not with you right now, it’s okay.” After Qiu Yin’an finished speaking, he walked out.

Yao Ye took two hurried steps, stretched out his arms, and blocked Qiu Yin’an’s way. “What about when I return to Jiuling Mountain? What if he catches up and causes trouble again? In the end, I’ll have to ask you to save me.”

After leaving here, Wan Qiongju is bound to have a big battle with Bai Chengying. Qiu Yin’an is worried about how to explain Wan Qiongju to others. Yao Ye is still worrying in vain, worrying that Bai Chengying still has the strength to deal with him.

But with Linghu here, Qiu Yin’an couldn’t tell Yao Ye what he was feeling.

In order to prevent Yao Ye from procrastinating on this matter, Qiu Yin’an summoned the soul-protecting cup and handed it to Yao Ye, “Here.”

Yao Ye held the soul-protecting lamp and said, “I feel much more at ease now.”

The two of them were led down the mountain by the spirit fox. On the way, Qiu Yin’an thought of the rabbit. He said to the two of them: “Wait for me here, and I will take the rabbit away.”

Linghu: “Master, it’s better not to go that way. It’s better to leave here first.”

Yao Ye sat down on a big rock and said, “If you want to go, just go. I just want to rest for a while.”

Qiu Yin’an: “I promised that rabbit to be his master. If he leaves like this, he will think that I don’t want him anymore. I’ll go back as soon as possible.”

Qiu Yin’an ran all the way back to the small courtyard. The little rabbit was not in the courtyard. He walked around the courtyard three times and finally found the rabbit on a pile of grass.

The rabbit was just as napping as when he first met him.

“You are the least alert rabbit I have ever seen.” Qiu Yin’an muttered as he ran over quickly and picked up the little white-haired dumpling in his arms.

The rabbit raised his head, blinked twice at Qiu Yin’an, then stretched out his pink little tongue, and licked his hand as if to please.

Qiu Yin’an lowered his head and rubbed the rabbit’s soft fur, “Let’s go, I will take you home.”

As soon as he detoured to the front yard, he saw Bai Chengying holding Linghu’s true body and waiting for him at the gate of the courtyard. Linghu had his head drooped and was dying.

Qiu Yin thought to himself that it was not a good thing, but fortunately Yao Ye had the foresight to go to the soul-protecting lamp.

But not long after Qiu Yin’an was thankful, he saw Yao Ye walking up to Bai Chengying’s side and standing with his hands folded, as if he was on Bai Chengying’s side.

Qiu Yin’an’s heart skipped a beat, and cold sweat broke out on the top of her head, “Yao Ye, what are you doing?”

Yao Ye: “You should ask yourself what you are doing? Wan Qiongju is a witch. In this world of cultivation, only you and Bai Chengying can stop the lich from dominating the world. And look at you, now fascinated by him. Is this the same Qiu Yin’an who was determined to eradicate the lich? Wake up, your ambition has been destroyed by Wan Qiongju.”
