Chapter 183: Xie Tingyun Receives a Q Version Caricature

The atmosphere in the ward noticeably lightened.

Chu Zhaoyi woke up after the anesthesia wore off. After getting the doctor’s permission, Gu Yusen fed him a little food, bit by bit.

His ears still couldn’t hear anything, but Chu Zhaoyi could read lips, so he could still communicate a few words.

However, he wasn’t in good spirits, probably still uncomfortable. Gu Yusen nervously called the doctor several times.

Fortunately, they gave the doctors enough money, so the doctors weren’t impatient, just repeatedly telling them it was a normal phenomenon.

On the morning of the fifth day after the surgery, the doctor came to remove the gauze from Chu Zhaoyi’s ears.

Gu Yusen stared at it for a long time and tentatively called out, “A-Yi?”

The doctor found it amusing and shook his head, “The patient needs a few more days to recover before he can hear.”

Gu Yusen wasn’t annoyed by the blunder. Instead, he peeled an apple into the shape of a rabbit and handed it to Chu Zhaoyi.

Chu Zhaoyi didn’t have much appetite, but he touched the little rabbit’s ears, pinching them repeatedly, before finally eating one ear.

    “It’s so boring, Brother Sanmu.”

He’d been lying in bed for a week, bored to death.

Before, he was grounded by Gu Yusen for a week for making a mistake and wasn’t allowed to paint, which already made him restless. Let alone now.

Although Gu Yusen tried his best to amuse him, he still wasn’t very energetic.

Chu Zhaoyi was a painting fanatic. Not holding a paintbrush for a few days was too unbearable for him.

These days, he mostly just used his iPad to draw a few strokes to satisfy his craving.

By the time he realized it, a Q version of Xie Tingyun had already appeared on the canvas, looking serious as he carried a briefcase, his brow slightly furrowed, and wearing a watch on his wrist that looked very expensive.

It was unexpectedly cute in a contrasting way.

    Gu Yusen glanced at it.

    “Is it for Uncle Xie?”

Knowing full well what the answer was.

“No,” Chu Zhaoyi shut down the tablet in a bit of panic, turning his face to look out the window in a self-deceiving manner.

The tips of his ears were faintly red.

Gu Yusen chuckled inwardly, but Chu Zhaoyi wasn’t looking at him, and his words wouldn’t work.

Knowing that he was always thin-skinned about these things, Gu Yusen didn’t say anything more.

However, at night, he noticed Chu Zhaoyi absentmindedly holding his phone, opening and closing it repeatedly.

    Several times.

Just before going to bed, Gu Yusen saw Chu Zhaoyi open the chat app, click on a certain avatar, hesitate for a long time, and then send the caricature he’d drawn that afternoon.

Then, he immediately exited the chat app, even turning off his phone and covering himself with the blanket, trying to pretend he was asleep.

Looking at his face, Gu Yusen couldn’t help but gently pull back the blanket, revealing Chu Zhaoyi’s face, which was slightly flushed from being stifled.

His breathing was a little rapid, and his eyelashes trembled slightly, clearly not really asleep.

Gu Yusen lowered his head and gently kissed his forehead, then the tip of his nose, and finally landed on his lips. His movements were gentle and restrained, but couldn’t hide the desire in his eyes.

The tips of Chu Zhaoyi’s ears turned even redder, but he didn’t dodge, just gently closed his eyes, letting Gu Yusen’s kiss fall on his lips, tender and lingering.

Gu Yusen’s kiss was as soft as a feather, carrying a restrained and affectionate warmth. His palm gently cradled the back of Chu Zhaoyi’s neck, his fingertips caressing his delicate skin, but he didn’t dare to use force, afraid of disturbing him.

Chu Zhaoyi’s breathing gradually calmed down, his eyelashes fluttering slightly.

Gu Yusen’s kiss didn’t deepen, just lightly touching, afraid that any more movement would make his desire stronger.

His other hand gently rested on Chu Zhaoyi’s waist, feeling his slightly rising and falling breaths through the thin hospital gown.

Chu Zhaoyi’s body gradually relaxed, eventually falling completely into sleep.

Gu Yusen didn’t leave immediately, but gently rested his forehead against Chu Zhaoyi’s, their breaths mingling together. His gaze fell on Chu Zhaoyi’s peaceful sleeping face, his eyes full of pity and tenderness.

Chu Zhaoyi’s brow furrowed relaxed, and the corners of his lips turned up slightly, as if he was having a sweet dream.

Gu Yusen couldn’t help but gently brush away the stray hairs falling on his forehead with his fingertips, his movements so light as if he was afraid of disturbing his dreams.

Only after confirming that Chu Zhaoyi was completely asleep did Gu Yusen slowly straighten up, gently pull the blanket up to his shoulders, and carefully tuck in the corners.

He stood by the bed, looking down for a long time before tiptoeing over to sit on the sofa in the ward.

The ward was so quiet that only Chu Zhaoyi’s even breathing could be heard. Gu Yusen leaned back on the sofa, his eyes still fixed on the person in bed. His fingers unconsciously stroked the armrest of the sofa, but his heart was filled with tenderness.

The boy’s well-behaved appearance was truly captivating.

The night deepened, and the moonlight outside the window shone in through the cracks in the curtains, casting a silver glow on the floor.

Gu Yusen sighed softly, but a faint smile appeared on the corner of his mouth. He closed his eyes, listening to Chu Zhaoyi’s steady breathing, and went to sleep too.

In his dream, he saw the scene when Chu Zhaoyi wore hearing aids for the first time and hurriedly pulled him into the small compartment.
