Chapter 158 “In Charge”
Mason came over in the afternoon for a brief check-up.
Chu Zhaoyi didn’t like the blue-eyed man, but after spending so much time together, he had become somewhat familiar.
Mason touched his nose and dutifully finished the examination, then took out the medicine he had brought for Chu Zhaoyi from his pocket, and handed it to Gu Yusen after making a turn in front of Chu Zhaoyi.
“The situation seems stable for now. Is the knot in his heart untied?”
Gu Yusen briefly explained what had happened between the two of them yesterday. Mason, as Chu Zhaoyi’s psychiatrist, knew everything that had happened in the past. He nodded knowingly upon hearing Gu Yusen’s words.
“Compared to so-called psychologists, a lover is the best medicine for a patient.”
Everything Gu Yusen did wasn’t based on theoretical knowledge; it was all done according to his intuition. He knew better than anyone where Chu Zhaoyi’s psychological issues lay, and he understood better than anyone how to resolve them.
He had thought that Chu Zhaoyi’s condition would be a troublesome matter, but he didn’t expect it to be resolved so quickly.
“Take this medicine for this month, and I’ll check again later. If there are no problems, we’ll switch to another medicine, or perhaps gradually stop the medication altogether.” Mason packed up his medical kit and left, seeing that there was nothing else for him to do.
Gu Yusen took note of how to administer the medicine and mentioned opening some Traditional Chinese Medicine for the boy to recuperate his body, but decided to postpone it for now, lest the effects of the medications clash.
However, the matter of exercise could really be put on the agenda.
In the past, Chu Zhaoyi would soften his voice and he would soften his heart, thinking that a little physical weakness was no big deal.
Now that this has happened, a slight illness can torment him like this. What would happen in the future!
Gu Yusen was full of thoughts, planning when to start exercising. These two days were definitely out of the question, as his body hadn’t recovered yet.
Damn it.
Other people kiss when they are in a relationship, but his relationship is positive and uplifting enough, without anything that is sexually suggestive. Every day, they just chat under the covers, and he has to worry about Chu Zhaoyi’s health all the time. He doesn’t dare to do anything. He can’t kiss him too much.
While Gu Yusen was lost in his thoughts, Chu Zhaoyi was lying on the bed, quietly looking at the vase by the window. He suddenly remembered the rose flowers that Gu Yusen had given him some time ago, but he had knocked to the ground.
“Brother Sanmu,”
“Where are the roses?”
“They’re put away, by the window in the living room…” Gu Yusen pointed outside.
Before Gu Yusen could finish speaking, Chu Zhaoyi suddenly lifted the quilt and wanted to get out of bed.
The moment the silk quilt slipped, it revealed delicate ankles, white enough in the morning light to see the faint blue blood vessels. Gu Yusen quickly grabbed his ankle and dragged him back into the bed.
“You dare to get out of bed barefoot just after your fever broke?” His palm pressed against the cold instep, Gu Yusen subconsciously rubbed it with his fingertips to warm it up.
Chu Zhaoyi felt a little itchy, curled up his knees and curled himself into a snow-white silkworm cocoon, his voice muffled in the pillow: “I want to see the flowers.”
His messy red curly hair hadn’t been taken care of for days.
The cowlick sticking up from the top of his head trembled slightly with his breathing.
“Are your legs not weak anymore?”
“Carry.” Chu Zhaoyi stared at Gu Yusen’s face without blinking.
Righteously.
Gu Yusen naturally indulged him, but he took out a thicker robe and put it on the boy.
As he leaned over, he brought a scent of pine wood. The movements of his arms passing under the boy’s armpits and the crook of his knees were so skilled, as if he had practiced them a thousand times. Chu Zhaoyi took the opportunity to rest his chin on his shoulder and rubbed against him subconsciously.
“Don’t move around so much, you’ll start a fire and then you won’t take responsibility.” Gu Yusen suddenly turned his head and bit his earlobe, the force of his canine teeth grinding the soft flesh startling Chu Zhaoyi so much that he gripped the shirt on the back of his neck, letting out a soft moan.
“In charge.”
