HUFT Chapter 65
by VolareChapter 65
“You’re really crazy.”
“So what if I’m crazy? A madman has a madman’s fun. Chi Nan, let’s play a game.”
Liang Sixu crossed his legs and picked up a phone from the table beside him, fiddling with it.
“Now, this is my territory. If you want to save Yu Jianguo and yourself, we’ll play a game. If you win, I’ll let you and Yu Jianguo go. If you lose, I’ll have you buried with me. How about it? Want to play?”
“Do I have another choice?”
Liang Sixu smacked his lips, looked around, and then said, “Seems like no.”
“Now, let me explain the rules. Later, use this phone to call Fu Chaoyun and tell him you’re waiting for him at Bei Qiao Wharf, and he has to come alone.”
Liang Sixu gently tossed his phone into Chi Nan’s arms, and raised his chin, signaling Chi Nan to hurry up and make the call. His patience was limited. If the game took too long, he didn’t know when his patience would run out and he’d ruin the game. After all, he was the one who created the game.
“Hurry up, do you still want your cheap old man to live?”
Liang Sixu urged Chi Nan. Chi Nan turned to look at Yu Jianguo, who was already half-dead, unlocked the phone screen and started dialing the number he knew so well. The number beeped twice, and Fu Chaoyun answered.
“Hello?”
“Uncle Fu, are you busy right now?”
“Not busy? What’s wrong?”
Fu Chaoyun was at home, about to order takeout, when he received Chi Nan’s call. He felt that something was off with Chi Nan, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it.
“Could you come to Bei Qiao Wharf? I have something I want to trouble you with.”
“Bei Qiao Wharf? Why run so far all alone? That’s an abandoned wharf.”
“Okay, when you come, can you bring me a jacket? It’s getting cold. Please? That’s it.”
After Chi Nan finished speaking, he wanted to say something else to Uncle Fu, but Liang Sixu snatched the phone away and hung up, not giving Fu Chaoyun any time to react.
Fu Chaoyun was alone in the kitchen, looking at this strange phone call. He started to recall the strange parts of Chi Nan’s words. He wanted a jacket. Fu Chaoyun felt something was wrong. He went downstairs to Chi Nan’s door and saw that it was locked, proving that Chi Nan had gone out on his own, and at least knew to lock the door.
Jacket, please.
Come out, save me.
Fu Chaoyun had a flash of inspiration and understood the meaning behind Chi Nan’s words. Their location should be at the wharf. Fu Chaoyun started calling his family, planning to use some connections. Later, Fu Chaoyun thought that Gu Jingnan was, in a way, Chi Nan’s boyfriend, so it was necessary to inform him about this matter. He told Gu Jingnan that Chi Nan might be in danger at Bei Qiao Wharf. The two of them met in less than half an hour, got into an SUV, and started driving towards Bei Qiao Wharf. The three-hour journey was shortened to one and a half hours by Gu Jingnan.
When they arrived, it was already close to ten o’clock at night. Gu Jingnan and the others didn’t park the car near Bei Qiao Wharf, but a kilometer away. They walked the rest of the way.
Because Gu Jingnan and the others had already made arrangements, knowing that Fu Chaoyun was going alone, they installed a tracking device on Fu Chaoyun. They could use this GPS micro-sensory system to know the general terrain.
Fu Chaoyun put on the equipment and started walking towards Bei Qiao Wharf. As soon as he arrived at the wharf, someone stopped Fu Chaoyun, checked his equipment, and only after confirming there were no problems did they lead Fu Chaoyun inside.
Fu Chaoyun carefully followed the person in front of him. When they reached the warehouse, the door opened, and Fu Chaoyun saw Chi Nan tied to a pillar, his mouth sealed with black tape.
“Don’t be afraid, Uncle Fu is here.”
When Fu Chaoyun saw Chi Nan, he took two steps forward, but was punched in the stomach by someone standing next to him. His legs gave way and he knelt on the ground, preventing Fu Chaoyun from moving forward. Fu Chaoyun couldn’t get to Chi Nan’s side, so he smiled at Chi Nan to comfort him. His little friend must be extremely scared. He came to be with his little friend.
“What a touching love story, it’s so moving.”
Liang Sixu had been in the shadows the whole time. When he saw Fu Chaoyun, he clapped his hands and walked out.
“You two are such a perfect couple, I’m almost embarrassed to break you up. What should I do?”
Liang Sixu rested his chin in his hand, pretending to be thinking, feeling very troubled because he couldn’t think of a way.
“How about this? I’ve strapped four timed bombs to Chi Nan’s body. As long as you stab yourself once, I’ll disarm one. Until I’ve disarmed all the bombs on his body. What do you say? Is this game good?”
“Mmmph!”
After Chi Nan finished calling Uncle Fu, he was tied up by Liang Sixu’s men and tied to a pillar. Chi Nan felt that he had been careless. He only knew that Liang Sixu was a desperate man, but he didn’t know where Liang Sixu had suddenly pulled so many people from. It was like armed crime. They even had explosives and firearms. All of this was illegal.
“What do you say? Are you playing or not? If you don’t play, I’ll just send Chi Nan on his way.”
As Liang Sixu spoke, he took out the pistol from his back waist, pulled back the slide to chamber a round, and pointed the gun directly at Chi Nan. If Fu Chaoyun refused in the next second, that bullet would mercilessly hit Chi Nan.
“Delay for three minutes. We’ve figured out the layout of the warehouse. Our people are ready to move in the surrounding area. Hold on for three minutes.”
Fu Chaoyun’s GPS micro-sensor was hidden in his scalp. He could tell what they were saying through the weak current. Gu Jingnan wanted him to delay for three minutes, so he would delay for three minutes.
“I’ll play. Don’t point that dark gun at him. He’s timid, he’ll be scared.”
When Chi Nan heard Uncle Fu’s words, he shook his head vigorously. He shouldn’t have called Uncle Fu in the first place. Now, he had harmed Uncle Fu. He wanted Uncle Fu not to play this game. Liang Sixu had originally come for him, but now it was like pulling Fu Chaoyun into the water, putting Fu Chaoyun in danger.
“Fu Chaoyun, you’re so worried about Chi Nan now. Do you know what you’re about to go through? Are you that worried about him?”
Liang Sixu, who had been very calm, suddenly became angry when he heard Fu Chaoyun say this. Ignoring his powerless wrist, he grabbed Fu Chaoyun’s collar with both hands and lifted Fu Chaoyun off the ground. His eyes were filled with anger, as if he wanted to breathe fire. He just didn’t understand. He and Chi Nan were both people. Why did Fu Chaoyun treat them so differently? If Fu Chaoyun had ever shown him a little bit of kindness, he definitely wouldn’t be like this.
“Yes, cough, cough, cough.”
Fu Chaoyun couldn’t catch his breath because he had been punched a few times when he first came in, and he could only cough when Liang Sixu lifted him up. He didn’t know where Liang Sixu had found these people, but they were so ruthless. Fu Chaoyun felt like his stomach was about to be punched out with those few punches.
