The director stared at the monitor, watching the footage transmitted by the camera, and the corners of his mouth turned up. This was definitely going to be a hit. With Fu Chaoyun and Su Xi’s reputation here, it was guaranteed to be a success. Plus, Fu Chaoyun flirting with someone else, this show was definitely taking off.

During the hide-and-seek game, Chi Nan and Fu Chaoyun were very close. Chi Nan could even feel Uncle Fu’s heartbeat, and the faint panting from running.

“Why is Uncle Fu here?”

Seeing that it was just the two of them, Chi Nan began to talk to Fu Chaoyun in a low voice.

Fu Chaoyun made a gesture to the cameraman, who understood and turned the camera away, leaving them with some private space.

“When you showed me the contract, I asked Little Zhu about it. I heard that there would be a lot of people watching you team up with others. Why should my boyfriend team up with someone else? If he’s teaming up, it should be with me, so I came.”

Fu Chaoyun explained to Chi Nan.

“Is this the surprise Uncle Fu was talking about?”

Chi Nan asked.

“Yeah, is it a surprise?”

“It is a surprise. At first, I was worried about what to do if I didn’t know anyone. I was planning to be invisible for the whole episode.”

Chi Nan said. It was his first time participating in this kind of show, and he didn’t understand the program’s routines. So, he thought that if he didn’t talk much, he wouldn’t get much screen time. He was planning to catch up on some research when he got back, but he ran into Uncle Fu around the corner, which was a real surprise.

“How could I let you be alone, venturing into the dragon’s den and tiger’s lair by yourself?”

Hearing this, Chi Nan’s heart warmed. At the end of the game, Chi Nan’s team came in second. This ranking was just okay, because Lu Yan had a hidden buff: if he caught everyone within 20 minutes, they could get extra food. Finally, the teams went to the hotel to eat.

Lu Yan was the biggest winner, so naturally his meal was the best. Next were Lin Fan and Jian Yang, followed by Fu Chaoyun and Chi Nan, and lastly Ji Xiaoxiao and Su Xi. The food got worse and worse, and in the end, it was just pickles and steamed buns. Su Xi’s face immediately fell, but considering that they were filming the show, she could only grit her teeth and eat.

In the afternoon, they played more games. In the evening, they would win ingredients and choose hotel rooms. The room assignments were definitely a highlight. The two girls would definitely be in one room, and the remaining five boys would have to be assigned to two rooms. Fearing unfairness, they chose to draw lots to assign the rooms. Unfortunately, Chi Nan didn’t draw the same room as Uncle Fu, but ended up in a room with Lu Yan. The camera caught Fu Chaoyun’s slightly resentful look.

But during the games in the afternoon, Fu Chaoyun noticed that Chi Nan was avoiding him. Not just avoiding, but deliberately keeping his distance. During the games, Chi Nan would always keep a certain distance from Fu Chaoyun, but not too far. Even when he saw that he wasn’t in the same room as Fu Chaoyun during the drawing of lots, Chi Nan secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Fu Chaoyun saw all of this.

After the rooms were assigned, it was time for everyone to wash up and go to bed. Fu Chaoyun quietly made a deal with Lu Yan. He wanted to sleep with Chi Nan. Lu Yan naturally agreed and exchanged rooms with Fu Chaoyun. When he left, he glanced at Chi Nan with a meaningful look, but Chi Nan didn’t notice anything.

Chi Nan had just finished showering when he saw Uncle Fu. He was a little disappointed that they weren’t in the same room, but now that they were in the same room, it meant that Uncle Fu probably knew that he was deliberately avoiding him.

Since they were all going to shower and sleep, the cameras were naturally turned off. The day’s filming was over. Fu Chaoyun and Chi Nan also took off their microphones and started talking.

“How could I let you sleep with someone you’re not familiar with?”

Fu Chaoyun sat on the bed. There were two single beds in the room, one on the left and one on the right. Fu Chaoyun didn’t bring up the topic of Chi Nan avoiding him first. He knew that Chi Nan was a little sensitive, so he wanted to ease into the real issue through other topics.

After the lights were turned off, Chi Nan couldn’t fall asleep. It was his first time filming a show, and he was worried about not doing well. Especially when he saw Uncle Fu appear, he felt a novel sense of comfort. He wasn’t alone and helpless. But he couldn’t help but wonder if Uncle Fu had come to the show because of him. He remembered that Uncle Fu had clearly stated that he would refuse, but now he was on the show. Was it because of him?

“What are you thinking about?”

Fu Chaoyun took the initiative to break the silence. He looked in Chi Nan’s direction. At first, he thought he was asleep, but after watching for a long time, he didn’t move. He knew he was overthinking things.

“Nothing, Uncle Fu. Will I cause you trouble by being on this show?”

Chi Nan also turned to face Uncle Fu. Although they were on single beds, the gap between the two beds was short. Fu Chaoyun could reach Chi Nan’s hand with a simple stretch.

“I wish you could be the little trouble that I always keep in my heart.”

Fu Chaoyun successfully made Chi Nan laugh with a cheesy love line. Fu Chaoyun had noticed a long time ago that even though Chi Nan was outstanding in appearance and talent, he would sometimes inadvertently reveal that he didn’t want to bother others, and always carried on by himself. It was a state where Chi Nan didn’t fully trust Fu Chaoyun, which sometimes made him feel very defeated. Fu Chaoyun was Chi Nan’s boyfriend, but he couldn’t gain Chi Nan’s trust. “Chi Nan, don’t be afraid to cause me trouble, and don’t deliberately keep your distance from me on the show.”

“I’m just afraid.”

Chi Nan’s voice was weak. He knew that Uncle Fu was very good to him, but because of this, he shouldn’t bother Uncle Fu even more and reduce the burden on Uncle Fu.

“Afraid of what? Afraid of scandals, afraid of trouble, afraid of causing me a bad influence?”

Chi Nan nodded.

“I’ll take care of all of this. If you become more and more distant from me, afraid to trouble me, I’ll also think, are you playing with my feelings, do you not like me?”

“No way, I like you so much, Uncle Fu.”

Chi Nan quickly denied. How could he not like Uncle Fu? Because he spoke too quickly, Chi Nan heard a chuckle in the darkness. Uncle Fu must be laughing at him again.
