HUFT Chapter 36
by Volare“If you call out nicely, I’ll let you down.”
Fu Chaoyun said jokingly, Chi Nan’s face flushed slightly, and he whispered “Brother” into Fu Chaoyun’s ear. Fu Chaoyun beamed with joy after hearing this, and put Chi Nan down. Chi Nan was finally freed from Fu Chaoyun’s lap and regained his freedom.
They drove for more than ten minutes before arriving. There were many fans spontaneously showing their support under the building. If it were just Fu Chaoyun and Little Zhu, they would definitely greet them, but with Chi Nan in the car, Fu Chaoyun only opened a small crack in the window and waved to the fans. The car drove directly into the building’s underground parking lot, and then took the elevator straight to the studio hall.
After Fu Chaoyun and his entourage arrived, someone came to meet them. There was a private dressing room waiting for Fu Chaoyun to get his makeup done. During this time, Chi Nan followed Little Zhu to learn about the knowledge of an assistant, watching how Little Zhu worked from the side and learning from him. He saw Little Zhu tapping away on his phone for a while, and then someone called Little Zhu. Little Zhu went out and came back with many cups of milk tea to distribute to the staff. Chi Nan took all of this into account and helped Little Zhu distribute the milk tea.
After the styling was done, Fu Chaoyun went to the studio hall to wait for the interview to begin. During this time, Fu Chaoyun went to the bathroom and gave Chi Nan a look, and Chi Nan followed him to the bathroom.
“What’s wrong?”
Chi Nan asked Uncle Fu after locking the bathroom door from the inside.
“Call out ‘Brother’ again for me to hear.”
Fu Chaoyun encircled Chi Nan, trapping Chi Nan in the bathroom stall.
“The recording is about to start, don’t mess around.”
Chi Nan urged Uncle Fu. This old rogue Fu Chaoyun didn’t care about his work at all.
“Quickly, just once.”
Fu Chaoyun begged Chi Nan.
“Just once, okay?”
Chi Nan reluctantly agreed, quite unwillingly.
“Uncle Fu.”
After calling out, Chi Nan quickly opened the bathroom stall door with his right hand and ran out, not even calling out “Brother” one last time. Fu Chaoyun was stunned in place, only then realizing that he had been tricked by this little brat, feeling both amused and exasperated. Fu Chaoyun shook his head and smiled helplessly, then washed his hands with clean water before going out, with a bit of a time difference from Chi Nan.
Fu Chaoyun arrived at the studio on time, glancing at Chi Nan and Little Zhu sitting below. Chi Nan felt Fu Chaoyun’s gaze and avoided it slightly.
After the recording officially began, the host first asked a few trivial questions, and then, amidst waves of cheers, the host asked the question that everyone was most concerned about.
“Seeing the messages you’ve been posting on social media recently, I’d like to ask Chaoyun, are you in love, or is there someone you’re currently pursuing?”
The female host promptly handed the microphone to Fu Chaoyun. Fu Chaoyun calmly took the microphone and glanced at Little Zhu’s expression, which wasn’t very good, so he quietly poked Little Zhu.
“Was this question not on the interview outline?”
“She’s asking a bit too far, but the answer to the question still depends on what Fu-ge wants. If Fu-ge doesn’t want to answer, he’ll find a way to cleverly evade it.”
After Little Zhu explained to Chi Nan, Chi Nan nodded as if he understood, and then heard Fu Chaoyun’s deep voice, taking the microphone and slowly starting to speak.
“There is someone I like, and I plan to pursue him again. Also, I hope everyone can give us some private space. After all, I’m already 27. If you scare my beloved away, I’ll have to live alone for the rest of my life.”
Fu Chaoyun used a joking tone to defuse the question, while also answering the host’s question, without making the scene too awkward, and giving the fans a space to relax.
After Fu Chaoyun finished the interview, Chi Nan received a call about the variety show he wanted to participate in before, hoping to have an interview sometime. Chi Nan replied with a message, and the two set the interview for 3:00 PM the next day. Chi Nan didn’t tell Uncle Fu about this.
On the way back, Little Zhu conveyed the manager’s message to Fu-ge, saying that there was a new variety show that was quite novel and wanted to invite Fu Chaoyun to participate. Some specific information had already been sent to Little Zhu’s phone, and if Fu Chaoyun was interested, he could call the manager back.
“What variety show?”
Chi Nan asked.
“It’s a variety show called ‘Watch Me Shine.’ Didn’t they just air a season last year? It created two new traffic stars all at once, and even sent two amateurs into the entertainment industry. It’s quite a brilliant show, and many people who want to make a comeback want to go on this show. But this show seems to be quite strict. But they really have good eyes, actually inviting Fu-ge. I don’t know if Fu-ge will accept.”
“Most importantly, their producer secretly revealed a piece of news to us, saying that Movie Queen Su Xi will also participate.”
Little Zhu was quite regretful after saying this, because no matter how good the variety show was, even if it was handed to Fu-ge’s face, Fu-ge might not even take a look, let alone pair up with amateurs. Fu-ge definitely wouldn’t be willing, but regret is regret. Who told them that their Fu-ge is the golden thigh in the industry?
“Not going.”
The result was exactly as Little Zhu imagined. Fu Chaoyun cleanly rejected the variety show’s invitation. Fu-ge rarely goes on variety shows except for some interview programs. His fans are about to cry to death.
Chi Nan couldn’t tell whether he was happy or unhappy after hearing Uncle Fu reject the offer, because the interview notice he received was for the program “Watch Me Shine.” If he became an assistant, would he have to see Uncle Fu every day? But it’s good that Uncle Fu didn’t participate in the variety show and rejected it directly. Chi Nan also breathed a sigh of relief in his heart.
Chi Nan didn’t disturb Fu Chaoyun’s decision. Uncle Fu dropped him off at the school gate and left. Chi Nan walked in alone. He felt a little guilty for hiding it from Uncle Fu and not saying too much to Uncle Fu, fearing that he would let something slip if he said too much. So he wanted to hurry back, and also check the interview address and the materials to prepare, planning to print them out for tomorrow’s interview.
Chi Nan arrived at that building early the next day and waited inside. Because Chi Nan was going for an interview, he dressed more formally, wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.
“Are you here for the interview?”
A girl in uniform came over and asked Chi Nan. After Chi Nan stood up and answered, the girl led Chi Nan into a room. Chi Nan knocked on the door and went in.
Chi Nan placed his resume on the interviewer’s table and then sat down in a chair.
“What are your thoughts on our variety show?”
The person in the middle looked at Chi Nan’s resume and began to ask Chi Nan.
“It’s more vivid, interesting, and the subject matter is relatively novel.”
“Then who do you think we will invite as guests for the second season?”
The interviewer in the middle asked again. Chi Nan was participating in this kind of interview for the first time, and he pursed his lips nervously, then said.
“I’m not very clear, sorry.”
