“Nan Nan, today is the Shen family’s old man’s birthday banquet. Come with me later to meet some people.”

“What am I going there for? To be someone’s free grandson?”

Chi Nan raised his eyes and glanced at Yu Jianguo, his eyes icy and devoid of any warmth, looking at Yu Jianguo as if he were looking at a disgusting object.

“Chi Nan, you better cooperate with me today.”

Yu Jianguo also changed his attitude, no longer accommodating Chi Nan.

Seeing Yu Jianguo like this, Chi Nan smiled slightly. So he finally couldn’t keep up the pretense and revealed his true colors?

“Don’t touch my friends. I don’t know what I’m capable of doing.”

“Cooperate with me, and I will naturally treat your friends well. I’ll have someone bring you a change of clothes later, come downstairs and meet some people with me.”

After Yu Jianguo finished speaking, he left. Chi Nan sat alone in the room, wanting to laugh. The birthday banquet hall was very large, with dazzling crystal lights above. The Shen old man arrived late at eight o’clock. The moment the Shen old man appeared, applause thundered. The people who were originally gathered together began to crowd forward. Chi Nan watched the Shen old man say a few words, wishing everyone a good meal and drink, and some people stepped forward to raise their glasses to wish the Shen old man a happy seventieth birthday.

Chi Nan watched Yu Jianguo fawn over the Shen old man in a humble manner, but the Shen old man didn’t even give Yu Jianguo a glance. Chi Nan turned around, found a balcony to get some air, wanting to blow away the haze in his heart.

It was already eight-thirty when Fu Chaoyun arrived. The banquet had already started. After he got out of the car, someone led Fu Chaoyun in. The moment Fu Chaoyun went in, he first exchanged a few words with the Shen old man as a greeting.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you. Chaoyun is getting more and more handsome.”

The Shen old man looked at Fu Chaoyun and smiled.

“I wish you good health and longevity, and may you be as evergreen as pine and cypress.”

“Go and mingle, young people like you don’t like to be with us old fogeys.”

The old man talked to Fu Chaoyun for a while, and Fu Chaoyun left, found Fu Shi in the crowd.

“Where’s Chi Nan?”

Fu Chaoyun found Fu Shi, and the first sentence he spoke was to ask about Chi Nan.

“Over there, probably.”

Chi Nan was originally getting some air on the balcony when Yu Jianguo found him, wanting him to go and greet the Shen old man.

Chi Nan didn’t know why Yu Jianguo insisted on having the Shen old man meet him, but now his legs were his own, and he didn’t want to go.

“The Shen old man is now in a semi-retired state. Most of the company’s affairs are handed over to his son, with only a small portion left to Shen Chu. If you go over and show your face, and be filial to Shen Chu, maybe you’ll get a share of the inheritance.”

If Chi Nan had water in his hand right now, he would definitely give Yu Jianguo a cup, and splash it on Yu Jianguo’s face.

“Yu Jianguo, it’s fine if you’re greedy for the Shen family’s money, but now you’re thinking of selling your son, having the son of your first wife serve your mistress. You’re really something.”

“You are my son. Isn’t my money yours? It’ll all be given to you eventually.”

“I don’t want your money, not even a penny, because I think it’s dirty.”

Chi Nan emphasized the last sentence. He knew Yu Jianguo was not a human being, but he didn’t expect him to be so shameless. How could his mother have been so blind back then, to have fallen for such a person?

Chi Nan felt nauseous at the sight of Yu Jianguo and turned to leave, when he heard Yu Jianguo shout.

“Chi Nan, I am your father.”

“I am your father.”

Chi Nan responded to Yu Jianguo. It was probably that Chi Nan’s attitude caused Yu Jianguo’s dissatisfaction. He grabbed Chi Nan and wanted to walk him outside. Although the two of them were not speaking loudly, the sound insulation was not good. If Chi Nan said something that the people present heard, it was likely to disrupt Yu Jianguo’s plan.

Fu Chaoyun chased from the balcony to the back garden and saw Chi Nan arguing with someone. That person raised his hand to hit Chi Nan. Fortunately, Fu Chaoyun arrived in time and caught the hand that was about to hit Chi Nan’s face.

When he ran over, Fu Chaoyun saw clearly that this person was someone who followed the Shen old man, it seemed he was surnamed Yu.

“President Yu, what’s the matter that you’re so angry about?”
