    Chapter 82: Beast Arena

The first time the White Tiger Cub healed Lu Yunzhou, it was strange. Clearly, the injuries hadn’t improved, but Lu Yunzhou felt very comfortable.

He couldn’t describe the specific feeling, only that it was miraculous, as if all the dirt on his body had been removed, leaving him clean and refreshed.

But he was clearly still covered in filth!

If he had to say what became clean…? Lu Yunzhou carefully savored the memory, and suddenly a thought struck him – energy! It was his ability.

He hadn’t felt much before, but after the White Tiger Cub’s cleanup, he could clearly feel the energy surging in his body becoming clean and pure, as if some kind of filth that had been mixed in had been cleansed and filtered out.

Combining the number of times he had been bitten by zombies before and the absorption of so many crystal cores, plus the fact that ability users aren’t completely immune to the virus, Lu Yunzhou guessed that the White Tiger Cub’s first healing session must have cleared the accumulated virus in his body.

This explained why he still felt lifeless after receiving treatment, because simply clearing the virus wouldn’t change his severely injured body.

It also made him understand why the White Tiger Cub became so agitated when Xie YunChuan said, “It’s enough if he doesn’t die, don’t waste too much energy.”

Xie YunChuan definitely didn’t have the heart to think about helping him remove the toxins. Back then, even keeping his life was something he had begged for.

So Xie YunChuan didn’t know at the time that the White Tiger Cub would clear the virus from him.

Did the White Tiger Cub misunderstand and use the wrong skill?

The second treatment was the real healing of the wound. Thinking about it now, the difference was actually obvious. The feeling of purifying the body and the wound healing were completely different. The contrast before and after was even more distinct, but he hadn’t thought that much about it at the time.

After reasoning it out, Lu Yunzhou’s face lit up with joy. The corners of his mouth twitched with pain from smiling, but it didn’t affect the smile in his eyes.

It was great. The existence of the ability to purify and eliminate the virus meant there was hope, even if he didn’t possess such an ability.

It was already good enough. At least this way, he could exchange for treatment opportunities with those who have purification abilities on an equal footing. At most, it would be a little troublesome or cost some crystal cores, which was much better than having no way to seek medical help.

One couldn’t have everything. Lu Yunzhou already had the ability he had dreamed of, and he had also regained his life. He should be content and not ask for more. Contentment brings happiness, and being alive is good enough.

    “Looks like you’re recovering well?”

Immersed in his own world, Lu Yunzhou didn’t realize that Xie YunChuan had come out and sat across from him until Xie YunChuan spoke. He glanced at the time; it was eight o’clock, and an hour had passed without him noticing.

In his excitement, he didn’t forget his fragmented body, which hurt with every movement. He carefully and slowly turned his head to look at Xie YunChuan.

In stark contrast to his own half-dead state, Xie YunChuan was radiant and full of energy, unaffected by the hardships of the apocalypse.

Lu Yunzhou cursed silently in his heart, “Damn it! Contentment my ass! Xie YunChuan is getting everything.”

It was hard not to be jealous. If he wasn’t so strong, with his appearance of eating and drinking well, and having Luo Shuyou, a delicate and pampered person, by his side, he would have become someone’s meat on the chopping block long ago.

“Heh! Not bad, still alive,” Lu Yunzhou replied with a cold snort.

Ability users have stronger self-healing abilities than ordinary people, but he wouldn’t count on that little bit of self-healing ability with his shattered body, anyway, it was just a drop in the bucket.

“That’s good. Let’s talk,” Xie YunChuan leaned back in a comfortable posture, crossing his hands on his legs, looking like he was all ears.

Lu Yunzhou asked knowingly, “Talk about what?”

    “Tell me everything you know.”

“You have to ask something, start a topic, so I know what you want to know and have a direction. Otherwise, where do I start? Do I have to describe my suffering experience one by one? That would take a whole night of talking. Do you want to hear it?”

    “Focus on the important points.”

“Then how do I know which ones are important to you and which ones aren’t? Anyway, I think they’re all pretty important.”

How could there be anything unimportant! For Lu Yunzhou, the short two or three months he spent in Half-Moon Base were more thrilling and memorable than any moment in the first twenty-odd years of his life.

“Do you think you can withstand a few more injuries and want to test your body’s limits?” Xie YunChuan said in a chilling tone, while a few tender green vines swayed eerily in the palm of his raised right hand.

Lu Yunzhou choked. “Easy, easy, let me think about what important information there is.”

Don’t look at those little green vines that look like grass and seem cute and lovable. Lu Yunzhou had seen their power. Last night, they pierced a person’s skull in front of Lu Yunzhou and easily took out the crystal core inside. He didn’t want to become that person’s successor.

How could Lu Yunzhou not know what information was valuable to Xie YunChuan? He had just thought about Xie YunChuan’s powerful strength and having the White Tiger Cub, a mobile purifier, plus Luo Shuyou and the White Tiger Cub both having healing abilities. Damn it, Xie YunChuan got all the benefits.

This was pure cheating. He couldn’t bear it for a moment, purely because jealousy was at play, so he deliberately joked when Xie YunChuan asked.

He didn’t expect Xie YunChuan to be so simple and crude, not giving him a chance to joke around and wanting to extract a confession by torture as soon as he came up.

A wise man submits to circumstances. He couldn’t afford to provoke him. He should honestly confess everything he knew.

He hoped that Xie YunChuan, in consideration of him telling him so much information, would let the White Tiger Cub give him a few more mouthfuls of “immortal energy” to save his body, which was about to fall apart with every move.

If Lu Yunzhou knew that Xie YunChuan also had a mobile storage container outside – Gu Tangyue was waiting, then his hatred and jealousy would boil even more.

But no matter how unwilling and jealous he was, he didn’t dare to easily make a move on Xie YunChuan.

Now he only knew to be wary of Xie YunChuan’s strength and didn’t dare to provoke him, completely forgetting the fact that Xie YunChuan had saved him from danger many times.

Sure enough, the apocalypse is a huge “beast arena” that can obliterate humanity.
