Chapter 31: Getting Even
The White Tiger Cub, having been abandoned again, didn’t even have time to muster its strength before being shown up by its own master. It proudly raised its head, thinking, “See? How could its Little Ball’s owner be so weak?” Excellent, master and servant telepathy, successfully claiming the title of Little Ball.
It didn’t mind at all that its little master had just heartlessly tossed it twice.
The red light receded, and Luo Shuyou returned to his silly little zombie persona, blankly looking at his dirty right hand. This time, he really cried, “Waaah…!” He hugged Xie YunChuan, stomping his feet and waving his hand, “So dirty, so dirty!” He eagerly wanted Xie YunChuan to help him.
Xie YunChuan quickly hugged him to comfort him, “Not dirty, Youyou, don’t worry, I’ll clean it right away.” His fingers slid over Luo Shuyou’s soiled hand, bringing a stream of water to wash over it. After several repetitions, the dirt was washed away, and the hand became clean and dry.
After Xie YunChuan stopped, Luo Shuyou brought the washed hand to his nose, looking at him with clear, innocent eyes. Xie YunChuan immediately understood what he meant and symbolically sniffed it, “Not smelly, it’s already clean. Our Youyou is fragrant everywhere.”
Only then did Luo Shuyou withdraw his hand and hesitantly sniff it himself. No smell, just a clean, clear scent of water. He smiled in satisfaction, his eyes narrowed into crescent moons.
Xie YunChuan pulled his left hand closer, pointed to the scratches on it, and asked, “What happened here? Did you fall somewhere?” Looking closely, there was also a small scratch on his forehead.
Seeing the wound, Luo Shuyou remembered the matter of complaining, and immediately pouted with a wronged face, crying out and gesturing to Xie YunChuan that someone had bullied him.
Xie YunChuan understood his meaning, and his expression became alert, “Are there other people here?”
Lu Yunzhou stood aside and said, “We’ll know if we go up and take a look. Whether there are people or not, they certainly won’t be more ferocious than the zombies just now.”
Actually, what he wanted to say was, “Not as ferocious as Luo Shuyou.” Woe is me, oh heavens! To be by the side of this killing machine every day, it’s truly a miracle he’s still alive.
He decided that he must stay three feet away from Luo Shuyou in the future, and never let him have the chance to grab his neck. His bones are not harder than those of a mutated zombie.
Damn it, usually he looks like a weak little white rabbit, but when he starts fighting, he’s simply not human… Oh right, he’s not really human now anyway, it was his carelessness.
Xie YunChuan: “You scout ahead, be careful.”
Lu Yunzhou said “Oh” and walked in with his machete. Although Xie YunChuan had supernatural powers, he had just gone through a fight, so the task of scouting should be left to him.
Xie YunChuan took Luo Shuyou’s hand and wanted to go inside, but after taking a step, he realized he couldn’t pull him. Of course, he wouldn’t pull him hard, and tried to negotiate, “Youyou, I just had a fight, I’m very tired, can you walk by yourself?”
It wasn’t that he was really too tired to carry Luo Shuyou, but he wanted him to move around more. It’s not good for him to be so lazy all the time.
Luo Shuyou didn’t move, and stretched out his arm to show him, his innocent big eyes meaning, “I’m injured, I can’t walk.”
Xie YunChuan: “…!” He resigned himself to opening his arms, “This little ancestor.”
Luo Shuyou suddenly had the strength, and happily jumped onto him, smiling like a little fox.
Lin Yi and the others upstairs were constantly monitoring the situation downstairs. Seeing them come up, they spoke up in time to identify themselves, so as to avoid accidental injury.
Unfortunately, they didn’t see the scene of Luo Shuyou snapping the zombie’s neck. Because of the angle, both he and Lin Yan thought that Xie YunChuan killed the zombie.
Familiar people, familiar conversations. Lin Yi and Lu Yunzhou briefly exchanged what had happened during their day apart.
Nothing different, except that Lin Yi and the others arrived at the village first and fought with that zombie for a while.
During the conversation, Lin Yi described in detail to Lu Yunzhou about his awakening of supernatural powers. After listening, Lu Yunzhou was both happy for Lin Yi and heartbroken for himself. Everyone could awaken, but not him.
After the serious matters were discussed, it was time to settle the score. Xie YunChuan, holding Luo Shuyou’s hand, asked Lin Yi and the other, “Who hurt him?”
Lin Yi: “He was going to pounce on us and bite us. I just tripped him to the ground, I didn’t really do anything to him.” He didn’t dare to mention that Lin Yan wanted to hammer Luo Shuyou to death, otherwise Xie YunChuan would definitely kill Lin Yan.
Xie YunChuan knew that this situation couldn’t be blamed on Lin Yi and the others. It was already good that they didn’t really hurt Luo Shuyou.
But Luo Shuyou leaned on Xie YunChuan like a fox exploiting the tiger’s might, acting as if his backer had come to avenge him. Xie YunChuan couldn’t just let it go.
With a slight movement of his hand, several small cuts were made on Lin Yi in the same area, not painful or itchy, just enough to fool Luo Shuyou.
“We’re even.”
Knowing that he was just coaxing Luo Shuyou, Lin Yi didn’t care about these small injuries.
Luo Shuyou hadn’t eaten anything for several days, and twisting the zombie had exhausted him again. Xie YunChuan wouldn’t let him bite people, and there were several fresh pieces of meat running around him all the time. He couldn’t take it anymore. He tugged at Xie YunChuan’s hand, opened his mouth, and pointed to the empty inside to show him.
“Hungry?” Xie YunChuan was a little worried. There was nothing in this village, where could he find food for him?
Luo Shuyou didn’t care and kept shaking his hand, wanting food.
Lin Yi, having witnessed Xie YunChuan’s power, decided to befriend him. He took out the only canned meat he had found, reluctantly handing it to Xie YunChuan, “Try this, maybe he’ll eat it.”
Lin Yan frowned beside him, but it wasn’t his place to say anything here. Don’t be fooled by Lin Yi’s appearance of protecting him at all costs, that’s just following his mother’s will. Usually, he wouldn’t give him any good treatment.
Xie YunChuan hesitated. He didn’t want to owe others a favor, and besides, he had just made a few cuts on him to vent Luo Shuyou’s anger, and now he was going to take his treasured food. It was really a bit too shameless.
As if knowing what Xie YunChuan was thinking, Lin Yi added, “Take it, you can be considered to have saved me, just take it as repaying the kindness of saving my life.”
That made sense, if it hadn’t been for Luo Shuyou arriving in time, Lin Yi and the others would probably be nothing but minced meat.
Xie YunChuan took it only after hearing him say that. “Alright, Youyou is hungry, I’ll just repay him later.”
Opening the lid, a meaty aroma wafted out. Sealed canned beef, not spoiled yet. Everyone present was drooling from the tempting smell.
Xie YunChuan tasted a little to confirm that it wasn’t spoiled, then forked a piece and fed it to Luo Shuyou. Luo Shuyou curiously sniffed it, not fragrant, not tasty, and turned his head, unwilling to eat it.
“Youyou, be good, have a bite, it’s very delicious.” Xie YunChuan said, stuffing the meat directly into his mouth. Luo Shuyou licked it with his tongue, not fragrant but not unpleasant.
He reluctantly opened his mouth and ate it.
Xie YunChuan was overjoyed and fed him all the rest, not leaving a single drop.
Watching Luo Shuyou reluctantly eating this rare delicacy, the other three felt their mouths twitch in heartache.
After eating, Luo Shuyou patted his belly and obediently snuggled in Xie YunChuan’s arms, no longer making a fuss, and no longer looking at Lu Yunzhou and the others with the eyes of a food critic.
Xie YunChuan leaned close to his ear and whispered, “Okay, we’ve avenged you, you can let the wounds heal.”
“Awoo~!”
In the blink of an eye, the wounds on Luo Shuyou’s forehead and arm disappeared without a trace. None of the other three noticed this subtle change.
