TSIAGBICATMWI Chapter 27
by VolareChapter 27: The Little Sphere
Luo Shuyou stood motionless, holding the sphere in his hand. He was facing away from Xie YunChuan, who couldn’t see what was happening with him.
Xie YunChuan’s expression was grave as he watched the surrounding scenery change drastically, the eerie, dense, and gloomy atmosphere fading away, revealing its true appearance.
Beneath the tree in front of them lay a heap of corpses – human, animal, and zombie. There were also fresh human corpses and zombies that hadn’t been drained of their flesh, indicating that the tree had captured them as nourishment. No wonder there were no corpses or animals to be found elsewhere; it seemed they had all been brought here.
The corpses on the outermost perimeter must have died before entering the tree’s range of control.
It seemed that everything was an illusion created by this tree. What exactly was it? Was it truly a tree spirit? And how many such spirits were there? What would happen to the mountain animals in other places?
Too many questions remained unanswered. The end of the world brought more than just flesh-eating monsters.
He approached Luo Shuyou and said, “Youyou, what are you holding? Let me see.”
At this moment, Luo Shuyou was completely invaded by the virus, having lost his human consciousness. He only tightly clutched the thing in his hand. He liked this shiny thing; it made him feel comfortable.
“Youyou?” Xie YunChuan reached out to take the thing from his hand. Luo Shuyou growled and hid it behind his back, glaring at him fiercely.
Only then did Xie YunChuan realize that something was wrong with Luo Shuyou. He saw his blood-red eyes, pale skin, and slightly elongated nails. His entire being was shrouded in an aura of death.
Anxiously, he grabbed Luo Shuyou’s shoulders and brushed aside his longer hair to see him more clearly. “Youyou, baby, what’s wrong? Don’t scare your brother. Weren’t you just fine a moment ago? Were you hurt? Did that old monster hurt you? Where did it hurt you?”
“Awoo… oooo…” Luo Shuyou couldn’t speak, obediently standing there allowing Xie YunChuan to shake him as he pleased, as long as he didn’t try to take his little sphere.
“Youyou! Say something! Tell your husband where you’re hurt, okay?”
“Awoo?” Luo Shuyou blinked his large eyes at him.
Xie YunChuan met his red eyes. Red eyes, pale skin… He gently pried open his mouth, revealing sharp teeth – all the characteristics of a zombie. Had he failed to escape this fate?
“Baby…!” Xie YunChuan painfully embraced Luo Shuyou, his heart feeling as if it were being tightly clenched, making it hard to breathe, a piercing, bone-deep pain.
Luo Shuyou was suddenly buried in Xie YunChuan’s shoulder. Xie YunChuan’s neck was right next to his mouth, and it smelled even more delicious. He couldn’t help but stick out his little tongue and lick it. Hmm… no taste. It seemed like he needed to bite.
He couldn’t bite. If he bit, there would be no one to hug Youyou, and Youyou would have to walk by himself, which was very tiring.
Xie YunChuan felt a wetness slide across his neck. In that moment, his heart was ashen, and he didn’t think about struggling, even forgetting his past promises to Luo Shuyou. His Youyou hadn’t eaten properly for so many days; he must be starving. He could bite if he wanted to.
Luo Shuyou, after being hugged for a long time, blinked his eyes in boredom. Then, his eyes lit up. He saw the White Tiger Cub jumping around on the ground, trying to attract his attention.
Fluffy!
He began to struggle with both hands, trying to push Xie YunChuan away. Xie YunChuan released him. “What’s wrong, Youyou?”
He ignored Xie YunChuan, running towards the White Tiger Cub with shining eyes, hugging and stroking it affectionately.
The White Tiger was very affectionate towards him. It was the guardian beast of the Wood Spirit Crystal Core, so it was naturally drawn to Luo Shuyou, who carried the Wood Spirit Sphere.
Luo Shuyou ultimately didn’t bite Xie YunChuan, which greatly surprised Xie YunChuan. This meant that his Youyou was still different. Even if he turned into a little zombie, his Youyou was the most special one – a lovable, clean, and harmless little zombie.
He would take good care of him. Even as a zombie, he would be the happiest little zombie.
After petting the little cat-headed tiger for a while, Luo Shuyou remembered to look for his sphere. He opened his hands and looked around in confusion. Where was his sphere? He was clearly holding it in his hand just now!
He looked around blankly for a long time, but the sphere didn’t appear in his hand. He became angry. That person next to him must have taken it while he wasn’t paying attention. Bad man! “Awoo!”
Luo Shuyou ran towards Xie YunChuan while howling, searching his body. “Youyou, what are you looking for?”
“Awoo!” Luo Shuyou opened his palm to show him, indicating that the sphere in his hand was gone.
Xie YunChuan could feel that the thing was on Luo Shuyou’s body, because that was what had been attracting him from the beginning. It should also be the key to that tree becoming a spirit. Seeing that Luo Shuyou liked it, he didn’t try to take it forcefully. It had always been on him.
“Stop looking, it’s not on me.” Xie YunChuan grabbed his hands that were groping around on him, using one hand to feel his pockets. “I saw you put it in your pocket just now.”
“Huh? Why isn’t it there?” His hand touched nothing in the empty pocket. Xie YunChuan, not giving up, released Luo Shuyou and felt in the other pocket.
Luo Shuyou seemed to understand what he meant, and he also turned to feel his own pockets, but they were both empty.
He raised his head, pouting and looking at Xie YunChuan with a wronged expression, his eyes welling up with tears, on the verge of crying.
At this moment, Xie YunChuan noticed that his eyes had returned to normal, and his nails had also become shorter. Apart from his slightly abnormal skin color, everything else had returned to normal. Now, at first glance, one couldn’t tell that he was a little zombie.
That’s right, his teeth. Xie YunChuan pinched his mouth and carefully observed. Two small, pointed teeth, like two small tiger teeth. Without thinking too much, no one would suspect anything.
Good, good.
Instead of comforting himself, Xie YunChuan examined himself over and over again. Luo Shuyou’s tears finally fell, and he burst into tears, “Waa… waa…!”
Although it was this bad person in front of him who made him sad and cry, he still subconsciously opened his arms and cried as he lunged into Xie YunChuan’s arms, wanting a hug and comfort.
Xie YunChuan hugged him and gently coaxed, “Oh! Baby, don’t cry. I’ll find you another one later, even bigger and more beautiful, okay? Don’t cry!”
While coaxing him, he thought to himself, he clearly felt that the thing was on Youyou’s body, so why couldn’t he find it no matter how much he searched?
Where could it have gone? Also, why did Youyou suddenly mutate and then get better again? Could it be because of that sphere?
The mysteries just kept piling up.
Could he have eaten it? Thinking of this, he quickly pried open Luo Shuyou’s mouth to inspect it. “Youyou, be good, open your mouth and let me see?” He couldn’t see anything.
How could he see anything? Even if Luo Shuyou had really eaten it, it wasn’t like eating a piece of candy that would dye his tongue a color. How could he tell?
However, he wasn’t wrong. That sphere was indeed inside Luo Shuyou’s body. At this moment, three crystals of different colors were suspended within Luo Shuyou’s body: a red, prism-shaped crystal, a green, prism-shaped crystal, and the silver-white sphere that he had been holding, emitting a warm light.
But these things were unknown to both him and Luo Shuyou.
