Chapter 25: I Really Sympathize With Your Headache

“Mingqian, it hurts, don’t hit me, don’t hit me, I won’t be so impulsive next time…”

    “There’ll be a next time?”

“No, there won’t be a next time, there won’t be a next time.”

Ye Lai lay on Sheng Mingqian’s lap, his legs kicking randomly, but his toes couldn’t reach the ground, like a kite without a string, desperately trying to escape but only able to grip Sheng Mingqian tightly, the corners of his eyes wet and red, his arms flailing behind him to cover his buttocks.

Sheng Mingqian directly grabbed Ye Lai’s wildly waving arms, pressing them against his back, and with his other arm raised high, brought it down, a slap landing heavily without any mercy.

With a “smack,” accompanied by Ye Lai’s cry of pain.

Ye Lai’s hands were tightly held by Sheng Mingqian, and he could only whimper for mercy, his glistening lips almost bitten through, revealing a deep red color.

When Sheng Mingqian lost his temper, he would always spank him like this, but this time it hurt more than any other time. If he continued to hit him like this, Ye Lai felt like his buttocks would blossom, and he probably wouldn’t be able to sit down tomorrow.

While protecting his buttocks, he wondered in his heart why Sheng Mingqian was so angry tonight. Was it because he forgot his previous confession, or because he impulsively beat Li Tianfeng half to death, forcing him to take a lawyer and rush into the mountains to the police station to bail him out overnight?

Probably the latter. Many people saw them together tonight. They had been secretly married for five years, and the contents of the prenuptial agreement were clear: if their relationship was revealed because of him, the marriage would automatically end.

Perhaps no one could guess that they were already married, but discerning people could see the relationship between him and Sheng Mingqian.

But on the way back, Sheng Mingqian said in the car, “If they know, they know,” and didn’t say anything else. Sheng Mingqian didn’t mention it, and Ye Lai decided to play dumb for the time being. He was afraid of getting the answer he didn’t want to hear.

Thinking of Sheng Mingqian’s words, the physical pain became less unbearable.

Sheng Mingqian stopped hitting him when he was tired. Ye Lai protested with whimpers. He was only wearing a silk nightgown, and the way he was lying down, the clothes clung to his skin, outlining the curves of his body. His buttocks were already a large patch of red, making people couldn’t help but imagine things.

He thought it would end like this, but Sheng Mingqian carried him to the bed and turned off the lights. The temperature of Sheng Mingqian’s skin was scalding, and Ye Lai grabbed the sheets, trembling all over.

Psychological satisfaction replaced the physical pain, and a red tide slowly rose on Ye Lai’s face and neck, and a few whimpers like a small animal leaked out of his throat unconsciously.

“Mingqian, I don’t want to lie down, the injury on my knee hurts when it rubs against the sheets.” Ye Lai released the sheets and slowly reached out to touch Sheng Mingqian’s hands on either side of his shoulders, grabbed them, bit his fingertips, and negotiated with him in a soft voice.

This was a method of begging for mercy that Ye Lai didn’t use often, but it had a miraculous effect on Sheng Mingqian. At first, Sheng Mingqian tried his best to restrain himself, but when Ye Lai’s soft tongue touched his fingers, the last string in his mind snapped completely.

He pulled Ye Lai’s waist and back, and Ye Lai suddenly cried out, his vision went white, and his body was empty for a moment.

Ye Lai sat on Sheng Mingqian’s lap, and Sheng Mingqian raised his hand and slapped Ye Lai’s buttocks again. The curtains were not drawn, and a thin moonlight sprinkled in, the shadows on the wall arching their necks, and the breathing in the room became viscous and undulating.

“Mingqian…” Ye Lai called his name over and over again, as if it wasn’t enough, “Mingqian.”

Sheng Mingqian’s body was tense, like a beast hiding in the darkness for too long, about to launch an attack, his eyes as black as thick ink.

“Mingqian…” Two tears slid down from the corners of Ye Lai’s eyes and dripped on Sheng Mingqian’s leg, “That night, I remembered what happened in the mountains. I always thought it was just a dream.”

After that night, Ye Lai completely forgot his confession. The injury to the back of his head was checked and there was no major problem. After resting for two days, he started working again and continued to be Sheng Mingqian’s little assistant in the crew.

No wonder Sheng Mingqian looked at him differently after he recovered, and didn’t use him as much as before in the crew, sometimes close and sometimes distant. He didn’t think too much about it at the time. Sheng Mingqian never mentioned that night again, and Ye Lai forgot about it for so many years.

The next day was a sunny day, and Ye Lai didn’t wake up until noon.

His knees hurt, his buttocks hurt, and his back hurt. His body felt like it was falling apart. Fortunately, his body was dry and there was no sticky feeling in his body. He passed out directly halfway through the night, and vaguely felt Sheng Mingqian carrying him to the bathroom to clean him. He didn’t know if it was his illusion when he was unconscious, but Sheng Mingqian’s movements to give him a bath were meticulous and gentle, and he reapplied medicine to his back and knees.

Sheng Mingqian drove him directly back to the villa last night. Ye Lai closed his eyes, smelling the scent of the master bedroom’s big bed, rolled over and lay on the pillow, reached out from the bedside table and picked up his cell phone to take a look.

Unsurprisingly, it was full of missed calls and unread text messages, mostly from Zhang Yihao, and a few from Sun Yuhao.

Sun Yuhao said in his message that he had already returned home and asked how he was doing.

Ye Lai sent him a message, saying that he was fine, and then called Zhang Yihao back.

Zhang Yihao answered quickly, and as soon as the call went through, he bombarded him with questions about what was going on between him and Sheng Mingqian. Even through the phone, Ye Lai could imagine Zhang Yihao’s anxious appearance.

Ye Lai knew that he couldn’t avoid it, so he organized his words in his heart for a long time, and didn’t mention that he and Sheng Mingqian were already married. He only said that he and Sheng Mingqian started with that year’s movie, had been together for a long time, and in order to avoid suspicion, they had always maintained an underground relationship and didn’t plan to make it public.

What Ye Lai said was similar to what Zhang Yihao guessed, but Zhang Yihao was still shocked after Ye Lai said it. He thought about it in his heart for a long time.

“It started with that year’s movie?”

Ye Lai hummed, “Yes, it’s been almost five years.”

“You’re really something, Ye Lai, you’re really something,” Zhang Yihao ruffled his hair, “I never thought that person would be Sheng Mingqian.”

Ye Lai explained, “Brother Hao, I didn’t deliberately hide it from you. Mingqian and I have an agreement that we can’t announce our relationship to the outside world.”

Zhang Yihao sighed, and hearing that Ye Lai didn’t want to say more, he didn’t ask any more questions, but he was a little worried listening to his hoarse voice, “Why is your voice so hoarse? Are you sick? What time did you get back last night?”

Ye Lai reached behind him and rubbed his buttocks, saying in his heart, “I’m not sick, I was fucked by Sheng Mingqian, and my voice was hoarse from crying.”

“I didn’t get back until the second half of the night, maybe I caught a cold.” Ye Lai casually made an excuse.

“If you have a cold, take your medicine properly,” Zhang Yihao said.

“Okay, by the way, Brother Hao, I left with Sun Yuhao like that, the crew over there…”

“They just called, meaning that neither side should talk nonsense, and it’s considered a peaceful termination of the contract.”

“That’s good, as long as they don’t cause trouble.”

“They don’t dare to cause trouble. You don’t have any work these days, and you’re probably scared, so take a few days to rest. Do you want me to go to your apartment to see you?”

Ye Lai quickly replied, “Brother Hao, you don’t have to come over, I’m not in my apartment right now.”

Zhang Yihao understood what Ye Lai meant, if he wasn’t in his apartment, then he was at Sheng Mingqian’s place, and only said to call him if anything happened.

Ye Lai responded gratefully, “Thank you, Brother Hao, I’ve caused you a lot of trouble over the years.”

“Don’t talk about those useless things,” Zhang Yihao interrupted him, “That’s it, hanging up.”

As soon as the phone hung up, Ye Lai stared at the chandelier above his head for a long time, and when his eyes were blurred, he propped himself up and got out of bed. He wanted to put on his clothes, but he saw that his body was covered with bruises and purplish red marks, and it looked like they wouldn’t disappear for a while. Fortunately, Sheng Mingqian was still a little rational and didn’t leave any marks on his exposed areas, but the area under his collarbone was not spared.

With an injury on his knee, Ye Lai didn’t want to wear pants. He went into the cloakroom and randomly found a shirt from Sheng Mingqian to put on, turned around and went into the bathroom to wash up.

After going downstairs, Ye Lai realized that Sheng Mingqian hadn’t left and was cooking in the kitchen, wearing casual sportswear, looking more lazy than usual. His hair wasn’t specially styled, and it stuck to his cheeks, covering his usually sharp edges and corners, making him look more gentle than usual.

It seemed that he wouldn’t have to eat milk and cereal for breakfast anymore. Ye Lai covered his buttocks and limped into the kitchen, hugging Sheng Mingqian’s waist from the side, and looked into the frying pan. Two golden fried eggs were sizzling in the oil, the edges were slightly browned, and they looked delicious.

“Mingqian, don’t you have work today?” Ye Lai swallowed, he hadn’t eaten anything since last night, and his stomach was rumbling.

    “Yeah.”

“Do you want me to help?”

    “No need.”

Ye Lai tiptoed and reached out to touch Sheng Mingqian’s eyes from a little distance, “Are your eyes completely healed? Have you had a follow-up examination?”

    “Completely healed.”

    “That’s good.”

Ye Lai answered whatever Sheng Mingqian asked, and after a few words of conversation, they fell silent again.

His eyes left the eggs in the frying pan and looked around. There was a plate of mixed salad next to him. Ye Lai released Sheng Mingqian, picked up a small tomato from the salad bowl and put it in his mouth.

When Ye Lai wanted to pick up the second one, Sheng Mingqian slapped his wrist with the spatula in his hand, “Go wash your hands.”

Ye Lai muttered unhappily, turned around and walked to the sink to wash his hands. Sheng Mingqian lowered his head and glanced at his bare legs.

His clothes were big and long on Ye Lai’s body, and two long legs were exposed outside. The back of the shirt barely covered his buttocks. When Ye Lai stretched out his arms to wash his hands, he could see the edge of the white underwear under the shirt, as well as the finger marks he had pinched out last night.

Ye Lai washed his hands and turned around to face the dark ripples in Sheng Mingqian’s eyes.

“What’s wrong?” Ye Lai also looked down at himself.

“Go back to the room and put on shorts.” Sheng Mingqian looked away.

Ye Lai immediately understood the meaning in Sheng Mingqian’s eyes, but he pretended not to understand, and leaned back on him, rubbing his ankles on Sheng Mingqian’s ankles with his legs bent, “Can’t I wear this at home?”

The emotions in Sheng Mingqian’s eyes were changing at a speed that was visible to the naked eye. Ye Lai only dared to make a fuss for a moment. He was very afraid that Sheng Mingqian would just do him in the kitchen, and this had happened many times before. He quickly left the kitchen before Sheng Mingqian could do anything.

While walking, he said, troubled for Sheng Mingqian, “Mingqian, you’re so obsessed with my body now, what will you do when our agreement expires and we get divorced? I really sympathize with your headache…”

Ye Lai seemed really helpless. After saying that, he sighed, thinking that he would hear some response, but he didn’t hear any sound as he walked away from the kitchen. He smiled bitterly to himself again, the one who should be troubled was himself.

Enduring the physical discomfort, Ye Lai quickly went upstairs.
