Chapter 54: Well Done, But Don’t Do It Again Next Time
Gu Yusen breathed a sigh of relief when he received Chu Zhaoyi’s message.
At least the boy knew to give him a heads-up that he’d gone to the studio by himself.
He wasn’t in a hurry anymore. Driving past a flower shop, he pondered for a moment before getting out of the car and buying a single red rose.
He seemed to have really pissed Chu Zhaoyi off. He remembered what Chu Zhaoyi had said before:
“Roses are a sign of reconciliation.”
This trick had always worked before. Every time he pissed someone off, sending a rose always managed to appease them.
Knowing he couldn’t let the other person stay angry, he took the flower and rushed to the door of the studio, knocking.
Confident, he didn’t expect he wouldn’t even be able to get in.
“Ayi, Brother Sanmu was wrong, open the door?” Gu Yusen coaxed softly, assuming Chu Zhaoyi was still angry.
But several minutes passed without a sound from inside.
Gu Yusen thought of Chu Zhaoyi’s condition and realized the other person was genuinely angry today, fearing something might happen.
Anxious, he kicked the door open.
What met his eyes was the sight of the boy lying on the ground, his exceptionally thin body looking light and frail.
*
“His stomach isn’t good. Young people shouldn’t take advantage of their youth and eat irregularly, especially spicy food. First thing in the morning? That’s just asking for trouble!”
“For now, it doesn’t seem like a big problem, but he needs to take good care of himself in the future.”
The doctor flipped through the examination results and spoke to Gu Yusen, who was extremely anxious. He, a director of the hospital, had been rushed over early in the morning.
He thought something serious had happened.
Turns out it was just a stomach problem.
Triggered.
Fainted from the pain.
“Okay, thank you.” Gu Yusen finally breathed a sigh of relief. Heaven knows how frightened he was when he pushed open the door and saw Chu Zhaoyi lying on the ground.
His mind was filled with the words “self-destructive tendencies,” afraid that Chu Zhaoyi had done something rash because of his words yesterday. If that were the case, he would never forgive himself.
“It’s nothing, go see your friend. Remember to call the nurse when the IV drip is almost finished.”
Gu Yusen nodded and turned to walk into the ward.
Chu Zhaoyi was already awake, staring blankly at the scenery outside the window.
He had just arrived at the studio. Actually, he had felt a little unwell in the morning, and after eating a slightly greasy and spicy egg pancake, the pain became more and more obvious.
Gu Yusen was furious. Why didn’t this person know how to take care of his body?
“Chu Zhaoyi! Are you trying to kill yourself? Don’t you know your stomach is bad? I’ve been taking such good care of you for so long, and you eat spicy food first thing in the morning!” Gu Yusen wanted to grab Chu Zhaoyi’s ears and scold him, but seeing the fragile look of the boy sitting on the hospital bed, his tone gradually softened.
Chu Zhaoyi didn’t say a word, unhappily turning his face away.
“Look at you, with such a temper. What did I say last night? It was just about separating the rooms, and in the end, we didn’t even separate the rooms, just the beds. And you, early in the morning, you bit me and went to school without waiting for me.”
“You say you’re angry, okay, it’s my fault, but at least take your breakfast with you.”
“Instead, you go and eat junk food.”
“You really are…” Gu Yusen looked at Chu Zhaoyi’s stubbornness and rubbed his temples with a headache.
He admitted that he had been planning to sleep in separate beds and that the method he used was a bit extreme. He should have talked to Chu Zhaoyi first and discussed it with him.
He really did do wrong.
The red rose for apology was left in the studio.
Gu Yusen, wanting to make amends, lost his tool and looked a little at a loss.
“You said it,” Chu Zhaoyi said for the first time, his voice a little hoarse, turning his head to look at Gu Yusen.
Gu Yusen was confused, wondering what he had said, but was still glad that he was willing to talk, which was a good sign.
“You said it, you said Ayi needs to grow and be independent.”
Chu Zhaoyi blinked.
The corners of Gu Yusen’s mouth twitched. So, you going to school by yourself early in the morning and buying your own breakfast is your way of being independent?
Well done on being independent, but don’t do it again next time.
