Chapter Index

Gu Yusen didn’t sleep well all night. Habits were truly a terrifying thing.

At first, he couldn’t get used to having an extra person in his bed. Later, he found himself hugging Chu Zhaoyi like a small doll every time he woke up, holding him in his arms.

Now that he was sleeping alone again, he couldn’t fall asleep.

He finally managed to sleep for half an hour just before dawn, only to be awakened by a pain on his face.

“Hiss.” Gu Yusen hadn’t slept well all night and was already irritated. Being disturbed like this made him even more ferocious, his eyes full of barely concealed violence.

It instantly dissipated when he met Chu Zhaoyi’s dark eyes.

“Awake? Did you sleep well last night?” Gu Yusen regretted the words as soon as he said them. Chu Zhaoyi’s skin was fair, and after not sleeping well all night, the dark circles under his eyes were particularly noticeable.

Chu Zhaoyi ignored him, got up, and left, leaving Gu Yusen with his back.

Gu Yusen then realized that Chu Zhaoyi had been straddling him. He touched his face, and if he wasn’t mistaken, he had been bitten.

Sure enough, there was a clear tooth mark.

Gu Yusen looked in the mirror at the large tooth mark on his handsome face. He wasn’t displeased, but rather stared at it in a daze.

“Really like a little dog.” Gu Yusen shook his head, pulled off two band-aids to cover it up. He really wouldn’t have the face to walk around with this thing on his face all day.

He spent a little extra time in the bathroom.

“Chu little dog, breakfast is at the door, did you bring it in?” Gu Yusen verbally directed Chu Zhaoyi as he walked out of the bedroom, but the living room was empty.

Even the clothes he had laid out for Chu Zhaoyi were thrown on the sofa. It looked like he had gone out wearing yesterday’s clothes.

    “Damn it.”

    “Why are you so angry?”

Gu Yusen grabbed a coat at random, pushed open the door abruptly, and happened to witness the moment the elevator doors slowly closed. He was quick-witted and quick-handed, and identified Chu Zhaoyi inside the elevator through the shrinking gap, and quickly reached out to press the elevator button, but it was too late.

    He missed it.

The breakfast sent by Xianpin Pavilion at the door hadn’t been touched.

Gu Yusen gritted his teeth, slammed the door shut, picked up the breakfast, and ran down the stairs, his footsteps echoing in the empty stairwell.

But it was no match for the elevator. When he got downstairs, Chu Zhaoyi was gone.

“Damn it.” Gu Yusen scratched his hair irritably. He didn’t expect that sleeping in separate beds would make the usually obedient teenager like this.

Meanwhile, Chu Zhaoyi touched his flat stomach. It took ten minutes to drive from home to school, so he took a taxi.

His stomach wasn’t good to begin with, and recently Gu Yusen had been taking good care of him, making sure he ate breakfast on time. Now, without anything to eat, his stomach was aching faintly.

Chu Zhaoyi pressed his increasingly painful stomach expressionlessly. He hadn’t slept all night and his head was spinning.

When he arrived at the school, he paid and got out of the car, seeing the dozens of messages Gu Yusen had sent. He didn’t know if he was worried or wanted someone to find him.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have stayed in the elevator for so long, waiting until he heard the sound of the door before pressing the close button.

He slowly replied to Gu Yusen.

Putting away his phone, he saw the breakfast stall near the school gate.

“I want a jidan guanbing (egg crepe).” Chu Zhaoyi looked at the sign and ordered one.

The owner was a woman who looked to be in her fifties. Perhaps because of overwork, although she had applied some makeup to try to cover it up, the wrinkles were still visible.

But her face was filled with an eager smile.

“Do you want chili, dear?” Her hands moved non-stop, very skillfully, and she didn’t forget to ask Chu Zhaoyi’s preference.

“No chili.” Chu Zhaoyi replied, thought for a moment, and changed his mind, “Add a little.”

He touched his nose and withdrew his searching gaze from the owner’s face.

He caught sight of the teenager not far away, looking hesitantly over here, not knowing what he was thinking, and pulled his hat down further.

The red hair was too eye-catching.
