Chu Zhaoyi just sprained his ankle, nothing serious. After a night’s rest, he was back to his energetic self the next day.

Seeing that he was fine, Gu Yusen, as usual, dropped him off at the painting studio.

He, on the other hand, was restless all day.

He had many classes today, a full day of them. His friend, Lu Eryin, sat beside him.

Gu Yusen was usually quite serious about everything he did, including attending classes. So, Lu Eryin found it strange to see him frequently distracted.

Was the Gu family about to go bankrupt?

He couldn’t think of any other reason.

“San Mu, what are you thinking about?” Lu Eryin took advantage of the break time to slap the back of Gu Yusen’s head, showing utter audacity.

He and Gu Yusen had a good relationship; they had been friends since childhood.

Gu Yusen was caught off guard and almost slammed into the desk.

“Damn it, are you crazy?” Gu Yusen brushed away his friend’s hand, his already irritable mood worsening.

“What’s wrong? You’ve been restless all day?” Lu Eryin rubbed his nose, knowing that Gu Yusen had a bad temper, but he was generally okay with his best friend (self-proclaimed).

“Nothing,” Gu Yusen tossed his pen onto the desk and leaned back. Only when he heard the noisy chatter in the classroom and saw the teacher sitting on the platform playing with his phone did he realize that class was over.

He hadn’t even noticed the bell.

“You don’t look like you’re okay,” Lu Eryin said, even more suspicious now. Gu Yusen was the heir to the Gu family. The education he had received since childhood and the confidence the family had given him meant that he rarely showed much emotion when facing anything.

Seeing him so uneasy and with such a worried look on his face, the only thing he could think of was that the Gu family was about to go bankrupt. But he thought about it and his own father’s expression had been quite normal recently. His father and Gu Yusen’s father had also been friends since childhood.

The two families had cooperated closely for so many years. If something like that really happened, his Lu family couldn’t possibly be unaware.

“The Gu family is bankrupt? There hasn’t been any leak of information. My family and your family just signed a contract yesterday, didn’t they? Are you trying to drag me down with you!” Lu Eryin’s words became more and more dramatic, and he looked at Gu Yusen with disbelief, covering his mouth with one hand, his eyes full of disappointment and helplessness.

“Get lost,” Gu Yusen was too lazy to pay attention and picked up a book, throwing it directly at Lu Eryin’s face.

Gu Yusen twirled the pen in his hand, his mind filled with the scene of Chu Zhaoyi biting his earlobe last night.
