    Chapter 135: New Home

Chu Zhaoyi didn’t have much to bring. Zhang Anru had cleaned up the house early in the morning and specially prepared an entire floor for him, with a spacious and bright bedroom adjacent to the painting studio.

Although she was furious at the Gu family’s actions, she couldn’t help but feel excited at the thought of finally bringing her son home.

However, Chu Zhaoyi’s mood wasn’t high. His long eyelashes cast shadows under his eyes, making him look a bit listless.

“A-Yi, you and that Gu boy…” Zhang Anru tentatively began.

“Mom, will you also disagree with me being with San Mu Gege?” Chu Zhaoyi suddenly looked up and asked abruptly.

“Of course not!” Zhang Anru replied without hesitation, her tone firm. “As long as you’re willing, the feelings are there, and the other person is good, Mom won’t stop you.”

Xie Tingyun, who had been silently driving, rarely spoke, his voice deep: “As long as you’re happy.”

Chu Zhaoyi still didn’t give him a glance, just lowered his head and continued to stare at his fingers.

Things were complicated, but San Mu Gege said he would see him on the weekend, so he could wait a bit.

That’s what he thought, but as the car entered an unfamiliar neighborhood, his mood uncontrollably dropped.

He wouldn’t see San Mu Gege for another three days.

Since they had gotten together, they had never been apart for so long.

Zhang Anru knew the reason for Chu Zhaoyi’s low mood. In reality, she wasn’t optimistic about Gu Yusen being able to break free from his parents’ control.

The Gu family’s descendants didn’t have any struggles for inheritance rights. Gu Yusen grew up in a peaceful environment, in a warm setting.

Although Gu’s father had recently been slowly handing him some of the Gu Corporation’s affairs, they were always peripheral cases used for practice.

Gu Yusen didn’t have the means to fight against his parents.

That’s what she thought, but Zhang Anru didn’t say it out loud, fearing it would only add to Chu Zhaoyi’s sadness.

She tried to change the topic, leading Chu Zhaoyi to the bedroom and painting studio she had prepared for him, followed by the Xie family father and daughter duo who were eager but clumsy with words.

“A-Yi, the entire third floor is yours. This is the bedroom, and next to it is the gym. Your health isn’t great, so you can exercise appropriately. There are many recreation rooms on the ground floor. You can go play whenever you want.” Zhang Anru knew that Chu Zhaoyi didn’t like going out, so she had specially prepared many places for him to pass the time.

“This is the painting studio I prepared for you.”

As Zhang Anru pushed open the oak door, sunlight streamed in through the beigeGarnish curtain.

Her fingertips brushed against the edge of the custom-made easel, her voice filled with barely concealed joy: “The angle of the drawing board is adjusted to your preferred angle, and the paints are all arranged in order of the color wheel.”

They had visited Chu Zhaoyi’s studio at school. Although the art supplies were comprehensive, it was still a school, not comfortable enough. But since Chu Zhaoyi was used to that environment, they copied the layout of the studio over, only making some modifications to the details.

For example, a recliner was placed in the sunny spot by the windowsill, with a fluffy blanket on it, shimmering faintly in the sunlight.

“Thank you, Mom,” Chu Zhaoyi forced himself to show some interest, not wanting Zhang Anru to worry about him.

But… he didn’t like this place.

Compared to this place, he preferred the small apartment he lived in with Gu Yusen. Although it wasn’t big, it was filled with traces of Gu Yusen and his life.

Zhang Anru could also see what Chu Zhaoyi was thinking. She secretly sighed in her heart and exchanged a glance with Xie Tingyun, gently shaking her head.

“This is A-Yi’s bedroom. Tell Mom if anything is not to your liking.” Zhang Anru led Chu Zhaoyi into the bedroom, ruffled the teenager’s slightly messy red hair. His hair grew quickly. Although Gu Yusen had taken him to dye the roots not long ago, black roots were now faintly growing out again.

Today’s A-Yi was like an abandoned curly-haired puppy.

Unlike usual, the red curls on his head didn’t have the perfect curve.
