    Chapter 97: Who is this?!

When Song Baiyan’s unfathomable eyes glanced over, Meng Xiyue and Tan Ya subconsciously denied, “No, no, don’t listen to his nonsense.”

Song Baiyan’s gaze landed on their tightly clasped hands, his expression meaningful and inscrutable.

His gaze sent a jolt through them, and they reflexively moved closer, simultaneously hiding their hands behind their backs, but without letting go.

Watching Song Baiyan take the drunk Yu Zhanrong away, Tan Ya’s tense heartstrings finally relaxed slightly. She let out a long sigh of relief and said, “Do you think Yu Zhanrong was really drunk, or was he pretending?”

“Maybe… he was really drunk,” Meng Xiyue replied hesitantly, clearly unsure.

Tan Ya said, “I never expected him to pull this move. We were all fooled by him. He’s actually a wolf in sheep’s clothing.”

Meng Xiyue hadn’t recovered, and murmured, “Did Song Baiyan see Yu Zhanrong acting so wild and crazy just now?”

“Of course, he saw it.” Fang Jingtong came over from behind, overhearing their conversation, and casually replied.

“Holy crap, you scared me to death! Fang Jingtong, are you sick?” Tan Ya, who was discussing with Meng Xiyue, was startled by the sudden voice in her ear.

Fang Jingtong dodged Tan Ya’s threatening hand, “Don’t get violent! Why are you so angry? I’m just kindly offering an explanation.”

Tan Ya raised her eyebrows, “Then tell me.”

Fang Jingtong straightened his clothes and said slowly, “Baiyan came over because he heard the commotion on your side. Think about it, analyze it carefully.”

There wasn’t a soul in the hotel’s second basement floor corridor. The dim lighting and eerie silence made it feel like the hotel hallway in a horror movie where monsters could jump out at any moment.

Yu Zhanrong couldn’t help but feel a chill run down his spine. His eyelids trembled, and he involuntarily reached out to hook his arm around Song Baiyan’s neck, pressing his body against his and murmuring, “Senior brother~”

Song Baiyan didn’t move, but raised an eyebrow, asking with a teasing smile, “Cuddling?”

Hearing this, Yu Zhanrong muttered to himself, “I’m drunk, how would I know how to cuddle? I only know how to be a brat.” But at this moment, his head was spinning, and he couldn’t be bothered to argue.

So he slowly opened his hazy eyes, gazing at Song Baiyan with a dazed look, then gently cupped his face with both hands, and without hesitation, leaned in and kissed him, happily saying, “Mine!”

Seeming to feel that wasn’t enough, he leaned in again and kissed him again and again, like a child playing wildly.

Song Baiyan let him play with a smile in his eyes, only reaching out to steady him when he lost his balance.

Actually, Yu Zhanrong just wanted to take advantage of being drunk to get a little something, but when he really came face to face with Song Baiyan, he couldn’t pretend anymore.

At this moment, his eyes were full of deep affection and love, revealing everything to Song Baiyan without reservation. He really liked Song Baiyan so much!

As the alcohol took hold, Yu Zhanrong’s courage grew, and his thoughts were plainly written all over his face.

His cheeks flushed, he looked at Song Baiyan with burning eyes, and murmured, “Senior brother, I really like you so much, really, really like you…”

Song Baiyan’s heart melted instantly, his chest almost overflowing with tenderness. He slowly ran his slender fingers through Yu Zhanrong’s light golden hair, gently rubbing it, “Oh? How much do you like me?”

“This much…” Yu Zhanrong took a small step back, then spread his arms wide, as if trying to show Song Baiyan how deep his affection was with this gesture.

However, at this moment, the back of his head was firmly grasped by a warm and strong palm. He tried to struggle, but failed.

Yu Zhanrong frowned instantly, glaring at Song Baiyan in dissatisfaction, but was held even tighter around the waist.

Song Baiyan kissed the top of Yu Zhanrong’s head, his tone laced with helpless amusement, “The alcohol is hitting you hard, you’re really drunk now.”

“Not drunk,” Yu Zhanrong retorted loudly.

Perhaps he was uncomfortable being held so tightly, he began to struggle slightly. Feeling the movement of the person in his arms, Song Baiyan obediently released his hands.

Just as they separated, a crisp “ding-dong, ding-dong” sound came from Song Baiyan’s coat pocket. Song Baiyan instinctively reached for it, but the drunkard beat him to it.

“Tan, Ms. Tan, who is it?!” Yu Zhanrong shoved the phone in Song Baiyan’s face, his expression solemn, “Which little fairy is it?!”

Looking at Yu Zhanrong’s nervous yet childish appearance, Song Baiyan was both amused and exasperated, “My mom.”

“Your mom?” Yu Zhanrong took his hand back in confusion, narrowed his eyes, looked at the screen, and pursed his lips unhappily.

    “What’s wrong?”

Yu Zhanrong raised his eyes, his sockets filled with tears: “She even calls you baby!”

There was a pause on the other end of the phone: “Rongrong? Is that Rongrong?”

Yu Zhanrong was suddenly addressed by his nickname by the person on the phone who seemed like a rival in love. His eyes widened, with an expression of ‘how could she call me that’.

That shocked and bewildered expression was so cute that Song Baiyan’s heart fluttered. He couldn’t help but lean over and kiss the corner of his eye, and then spoke into the microphone, “Mom, he’s drunk.”

Yu Zhanrong suddenly came to his senses, and as if remembering something, he hurriedly covered the phone and took a step back, not letting Song Baiyan say bad things about him, and even knew to defend himself.

He carefully glanced at Song Baiyan, and only slightly relaxed when he saw that the other party had no intention of taking the phone.

He muffled the phone and whispered, “Mom, I’m not drunk, it’s senior brother who’s drunk.”

    Ms. Tan: “…”

She might be drunk, her head was a little dizzy.

Song Baiyan really didn’t expect this to happen. He turned his head with interest, his eyes fixed on the shadow on the wall, quietly listening to Yu Zhanrong’s serious nonsense with his mother.

As he listened, the smile in Song Baiyan’s eyes grew stronger, the radiance in his eyes became more and more uncontrollable, and finally he laughed out loud.

Song Baiyan even suspected that Yu Zhanrong had sobered up, after all, judging from his clear and logical words at the moment, he didn’t seem like a drunk person at all.

But every time Song Baiyan heard that clear and loud “Mom,” he felt that maybe he was thinking too much.
