Shao Tingyue was the legendary new “Ship King” of Hong Kong and the stern, traditional head of the Shao household. When word got out that the long-lost young master was actually a fraud, the city buzzed with rumors about the boy’s impending, miserable fate.

Yet, at an exclusive high-society gala, Shao Tingyue made a rare appearance with Li Chu tucked into his arms. The boy, still half-asleep, frowned and yawned with blatant impatience. The onlookers were stunned; no one in the city dared to show such disrespect to the Ship King. However, the man’s expression didn’t flicker as his gaze drifted to the mark behind the boy’s ear.

“Darling,” he murmured, “you really are quite something.”
