    Chapter 163 Reunion

The closer he got, the stronger the unfounded premonition in Xie YunChuan’s heart became. Finally, cautiously and vigilantly, he approached the giant beast and saw the slender, lonely figure in its embrace.

In an instant, myriad thoughts flooded his mind. Xie YunChuan felt even the icy snowflakes hitting him seemed scorching. His originally cold body suddenly surged with hot blood, and heat boiled within him. He recognized it at a glance. That peaceful, well-behaved sleeping face was undoubtedly his Luo Shuyou.

White Tiger Cub wasn’t asleep. It had to guard its little master. Luo Shuyou wasn’t asleep either. The rustling of the snow accentuated the desolation in his heart, making it impossible to relax.

Luo Shuyou had long sensed someone approaching, but he lazily lay there, not wanting to pay attention. Until the person seemed to arrive in front of him, staring at him. That gaze was almost tangible, not particularly murderous, but impossible to ignore.

White Tiger Cub opened its eyes first. Seeing it was Xie YunChuan, it rolled its eyes in annoyance. This dog of a man. It had finally managed to enjoy some pleasant alone time with its little master, but unexpectedly this guy had found them so quickly. What a buzzkill, hmph!

White Tiger Cub snorted haughtily, looking down at Xie YunChuan. Unfortunately, Xie YunChuan didn’t spare it a single glance.

Xie YunChuan was still fixedly staring at Luo Shuyou’s fair, childish face, unwilling to tear his gaze away for even a second, as if afraid that if he didn’t keep a constant eye on his lover, he would vanish into thin air.

The gaze lingered for a bit too long. Luo Shuyou had no choice but to open his eyes to see what was going on. One glance and he was stunned. Luo Shuyou blankly looked at the person who had barged into his vision, his eyes filled with only him.

He had changed. His fair, smooth face had become somewhat rough, his always clean and neat clothes were a bit disheveled, and his usually soft, stylish hair was a bit of a mess.

He hadn’t changed. He still looked at Luo Shuyou with deep affection, and standing within Luo Shuyou’s line of sight still made Luo Shuyou feel at ease, still made Luo Shuyou want to hold him tightly.

Luo Shuyou got up. White Tiger Cub reluctantly retracted its tail and moved its limbs that had been encircling Luo Shuyou. Luo Shuyou tentatively took a step forward as if he dared not believe it, afraid that rushing over would only shatter this extremely realistic illusion more quickly.

It felt like a century since they had last met. Since the virus outbreak, Luo Shuyou had lived in a daze, unaware of people, events, or the passage of time. He hadn’t completely forgotten his memories as a zombie, but many were fragmented scenes that couldn’t be connected. Those fleeting fragments couldn’t form solid lines to piece together. He vaguely knew what had happened, but he couldn’t describe the details as if he were an outsider.

Seeing Luo Shuyou’s caution and fear, Xie YunChuan didn’t wait for him to take more than a couple of steps before rushing forward and pulling him into his arms, holding him tightly.

Luo Shuyou was caught in the sudden embrace. His eyes were blank for a moment. As if daring not to believe it, he tentatively tightened his arms, finally embracing him tightly when he definitively felt Xie YunChuan’s lean waist.

Xie YunChuan’s strong, powerful heartbeat resounded in his ears, thump-thump-thump, filling Luo Shuyou’s entire heart.

After a long time, Xie YunChuan raised his face, which had been buried in Luo Shuyou’s shoulder, loosened his embrace, and cupped Luo Shuyou’s face, bringing their noses close. “Why are you sleeping in the snow on such a cold day?”

Warm breath brushed his face, and the familiar voice entered his ears. Luo Shuyou’s heart faintly burned, but his face remained ice-cold. “It’s not cold.” Contrary to his icy body, his voice was gentle and soothing, the murmur of lovers, making even ordinary words sound heartwarming.

“Is that so? Let me feel it.”

As soon as he finished speaking, without waiting for Luo Shuyou to react, Xie YunChuan leaned down, and his lips gently touched the thin lips below. Luo Shuyou blankly stood still. Xie YunChuan’s hoarse, low voice came again, “Be good, open your mouth.” Luo Shuyou could feel the feather-light tickle on his lips, the slight movement of Xie YunChuan’s lips as he spoke, rubbing against his own.

Subconsciously obedient, his lips slightly parted. Before he could regain his senses, Xie YunChuan had pulled him into another hazy, absent-minded state. In the intertwining of breaths, Luo Shuyou completely forgot to think.

When the wet lips parted, Xie YunChuan’s breathing was unusually heavy, his eyes deep and dark, as if he was desperately restraining something. He wiped away the trace of saliva from the corner of Luo Shuyou’s mouth with his finger, then rubbed his flushed, swollen lips. That bit of redness was especially obvious on his pale face. Chuckling softly, Xie YunChuan said, “Mm, it’s warm.” That was his assessment of what he felt.

“It hurts~!” Luo Shuyou turned his head away from Xie YunChuan’s rubbing hand, no longer looking at the dangerous glint in his eyes, and hugged him tightly around the waist again, burying his head in his chest, listening to Xie YunChuan’s powerful heartbeat. Luo Shuyou muffledly said with a nasal tone, “You’re the one who’s hot, I’m cold.”

Xie YunChuan’s whole body went numb from Luo Shuyou’s painful cry that was like a coquettish whine, his heart itching unbearably, but then he was doused with cold water by the next sentence. Putting aside his amorous thoughts, he disapprovingly feigned blame. “Nonsense, my Luo Shuyou is clearly a little warm bundle, how could you be cold?” Even if he was cold for the moment, he would warm him up.

Gu Tangxi and the others had seen Xie YunChuan go over but hadn’t come out for a long time. White Tiger Cub blocked their view like a mountain, and they hadn’t heard any fighting. It was impossible for Xie YunChuan to be silently killed, right?

Uh, no, no, no, no, no. It was better to avoid such terrifying thoughts. If that really happened, they might as well give up on living.

Gu Tangxi tentatively called out softly, “Xie YunChuan?”

Gu Tangyue closely followed, “Boss Xie?”

Hearing the voices of outsiders, Luo Shuyou instantly pulled himself out of the warm, immersive pink bubble. He pushed away Xie YunChuan, nonchalantly straightening his slightly wrinkled clothes, and a little embarrassed, pursed his lips. “Don’t… don’t hug, there are people.” Especially girls. Before, when his brain wasn’t working well, it was fine to brazenly hug in public, but now, in front of everyone, two grown men hugging in front of two young girls was completely inappropriate.

White Tiger Cub puffed out a long snort, seemingly dissatisfied. It shrunk in size while thinking: Now you know to be shy, hmph! If it weren’t for White Tiger Cub selflessly blocking the view for you, you two would have already been doing that kind of thing in public, tsk!

That dog of a man, Xie YunChuan, started pestering its little master and doing bad things as soon as he arrived. Aaaaaah! Dog, it hasn’t even kissed its little master yet, unfair! Next time, it must lick its little master in front of Xie YunChuan, asserting its tiger authority and letting Xie YunChuan know White Tiger Cub’s status, hmph!

White Tiger Cub turned into a half-human-sized adult tiger, no longer able to block the two people in front of it. Fortunately, the two had already created some distance, well, although they were still standing close together, at least they weren’t hugging anymore.
