    Chapter 33 We Can’t…

Not only was Guo Yao surprised, but He Yuncheng also took a while to react after hearing him speak.

He hurried to the door and looked out. Under the moonlight, a slender figure stood quietly in the wind. He didn’t know how long he had been there, but it was none other than Lin Shuangxu.

    “You…?”

After not seeing each other for two days, He Yuncheng should have been happy.

But it was so late, and the weather was so cold that it was freezing. Lin Shuangxu’s eyelashes were covered with frost, and He Yuncheng’s heart ached with love.

    “Why did you come?”

He couldn’t care about anything else and pulled Lin Shuangxu into the military tent.

Once inside, he made him sit on the couch and piled the quilt on him.

Guo Yao also followed in, poured a cup of hot tea, and handed it over, “Young Master, warm yourself up.”

“Thank you.” Lin Shuangxu’s fingers were frozen red. He took it and sipped.

“Why didn’t you come in when you arrived?” He Yuncheng gently chided.

“I just arrived.” Lin Shuangxu’s expression was calm as he spoke, and it didn’t seem like anything important had happened.

However, the look in his eyes seemed a little gentler than usual.

He Yuncheng wasn’t sure if it was because he missed him too much after not seeing him for two days, and he was hallucinating.

He tried to recall what Lin Shuangxu’s usual gaze towards him was like.

Then he realized that Lin Shuangxu usually… didn’t really look at him directly.

“You go back first, Guo Yao,” He Yuncheng said to Guo Yao. “I’ll call you if anything comes up.”

    “Yes.”

As soon as the door closed, warmth gathered in the room.

Lin Shuangxu was wrapped in the cotton quilt like a ball, sitting there obediently, looking indescribably cute.

He Yuncheng resisted the urge to take a bite of him and pulled a wooden chair to sit in front of him.

As if afraid of scaring him, he asked softly, “Is there news about Song Jiting?”

Lin Shuangxu shook his head. “Not yet.”

    “Did Shen Tan reply?”

    “No.”

“Did you find any new clues?”

    “No.”

He asked a question, and Lin Shuangxu answered.

Whatever he could guess wasn’t the purpose of his visit tonight.

He Yuncheng gave up, resting his elbow on his knee, leaning forward, and tilting his head to observe his expression.

Then he tentatively asked, “Are you angry?”

The frost on his eyelashes had melted, and Lin Shuangxu’s eyes were wet, staring at He Yuncheng intently.

“Because of what? Tell me, I can’t figure out where I went wrong.”

His attitude was extremely sincere. Although he didn’t know what he had done wrong, he was ready to apologize at any time.

But Lin Shuangxu didn’t say anything.

    So what?

He came out of the city in the middle of the night to find him, just to sit here and stare blankly at him?

He Yuncheng waited and waited, but couldn’t get an answer. Suddenly, he laughed.

He lowered his head helplessly, his shoulders shaking with laughter. Then, he leaned further forward, resting his head on Lin Shuangxu’s chest.

His thick, dark hair brushed against his body, and Lin Shuangxu, contrary to his usual behavior, didn’t dodge.

He Yuncheng naturally wanted to take the opportunity and rubbed against him to his heart’s content.

The faint fragrance, whether from his clothes or his body, made He Yuncheng’s heart flutter.

He raised his head reluctantly and looked at Lin Shuangxu again. The casual smile was gone, replaced by scorching eyes filled with a frightening amount of desire.

    “Did you miss me?”

    The atmosphere became strange.

Lin Shuangxu looked at him, still refusing to respond.

He Yuncheng stopped pressing and took the liberty of treating his silence as tacit agreement.

“Never mind if you don’t say it. Let’s rest.”

He got up from the chair and reached out to take off Lin Shuangxu’s fox fur coat, hanging it to the side.

Then he came back, knelt beside his feet, and began to take off his shoes and socks.

His movements were extremely gentle and careful. He placed the removed boots to the side, held his cold feet in his palms, lifted them up, and placed them inside the quilt.

Lin Shuangxu followed his movements, lying flat on the couch, as obedient as a puppet.

After settling him down, He Yuncheng got up and went to the desk again, putting out the candles.

The military tent fell into darkness.

His footsteps were particularly clear as he came back.

The view was dim, and Lin Shuangxu couldn’t see his face clearly, only the familiar silhouette sitting properly on the edge of the bed, not touching his body.

“I don’t have another bed here,” He Yuncheng said, discussing. “Will you let me stay here? If not, I’ll go sleep with them in the common bunk.”

He said it like that, like a perfect gentleman.

But after saying that, he didn’t really leave, sitting there, waiting confidently for someone to stay.

Even if there wasn’t even a word of response, he could still self-indulgently treat Lin Shuangxu’s silence as the answer he wanted.

Heavy breathing fell, and Lin Shuangxu felt a rush of heat.

He Yuncheng bent down and leaned over, his arms propped up on either side of his body, loosely trapping him in his arms.

    Still no touching.

“I have some things to deal with in the army. I didn’t mean not to go back,” he explained to Lin Shuangxu, his tone as light as a whisper.

Then his lips grazed his ear, and in the next moment, he heard his barely suppressed gasp as he wished.

    So wonderful to hear.

“You’re doing this again, and you still say it’s all my fault.”

He Yuncheng didn’t know how much longer he could endure it. An uncontrollable kiss landed on Lin Shuangxu’s lips.

    “Don’t…”

Lin Shuangxu turned his head to the side, his voice tense and trembling as he struggled painfully.

He Yuncheng stopped his movements, his heart pounding.

He knew the purpose of his visit tonight.

Lin Shuangxu hated him so much that he had to torture him to death.

“You don’t want me to touch you?” He Yuncheng asked, “Then why did you come to me?”

    “We can’t…”

Lin Shuangxu covered his eyes with the back of his hand, avoiding the suppressed feelings in his heart.

“Okay.” He Yuncheng stopped trying to kiss him, looking down at Lin Shuangxu.

He pried open Lin Shuangxu’s hand that was covering his eyes, his tone still gentle, but no longer discussing with him, “Then look at me.”

He began to undress himself, decisively and arrogantly.

“Just letting you look can’t be considered bullying you.”
