    Chapter 161: Digging Up Graves

After dinner, Zhang Anru, having had her wish fulfilled, happily sat beside Chu Zhaoyi, chatting with him.

Chu Zhaoyi sat on the sofa, holding a cup of hot tea in his hands. The steam from the tea curled upwards, blurring his features.

Zhang Anru sat next to him, carefully observing him, and couldn’t help but feel a bit surprised.

In the past, Chu Zhaoyi’s eyes were always dim, as if veiled by a thin mist. His gaze often wandered into the distance, showing no interest in his surroundings. His whole being seemed to be enveloped in an invisible shell, isolating him from everything outside, except for a small opening he allowed Gu Yusen to enter.

But the Chu Zhaoyi of today was completely different.

His eyes had become clear and bright, like the sky after a rain, revealing a long-lost clarity and tranquility. His gaze no longer wandered, his eyes focused on Zhang Anru, and even held a hint of warmth.

Those eyes seemed to reflect the surrounding light, and even his entire demeanor had become much gentler.

    Love can influence everything.

It seemed that Chu Zhaoyi’s knot had also been untied by Gu Yusen.

Xie Tingyun wanted to find an opportunity to talk to Chu Zhaoyi, but Chu Zhaoyi’s resistance to him was still strong.

Xie Tingyun sighed. Gu Yusen took advantage of Chu Zhaoyi’s time to take his medicine to briefly explain the situation to the three members of the Xie family.

“Previously, Chu Yu had some nasty thoughts towards Aunt Zhang, and these thoughts were transferred to A-Yi.”

“So A-Yi is very resistant to the idea of a father.”

“Including when I first met A-Yi, his hair was down to his waist. From what he occasionally revealed, I can roughly understand that Chu Yu kept guiding him not to cut his hair.”

“In fact, the campus bullying A-Yi suffered was largely due to this long hair. Children don’t have a sense of right and wrong and have a weak understanding of gender. They naturally thought that long hair meant he was a girl.”

“A-Yi also said that he wanted to cut his hair, but Chu Yu subtly guided A-Yi to say that he couldn’t cut it.”

“I guess as A-Yi gradually grew up and resembled you a bit more, he developed even more disgusting thoughts.”

Gu Yusen had never told the Xie family these things before.

Xie Tingyun’s brows furrowed tightly as he listened to Gu Yusen’s words, his face so dark that it seemed like water could drip from it.

The hand holding the teacup tightened slightly, his knuckles turning white, obviously trying to suppress the anger and guilt in his heart.

No wonder… no wonder A-Yi accepted his wife and daughter so readily, but repeatedly resisted his approach.

Zhang Anru’s face was pale, her eyes were slightly red, and her lips trembled. She seemed to want to say something, but her anger made her tremble and unable to speak.

Seeing their expressions, Gu Yusen added,

“But Chu Yu didn’t have time to do anything. A-Yi is not someone to be trifled with. Chu Yu couldn’t get any benefits from him. Moreover, with Li Yurong there, she wouldn’t allow her husband to do such a thing, even though she didn’t like A-Yi.”

“So, at most, Chu Yu would look at A-Yi with that disgusting gaze, but A-Yi is more sensitive to other people’s emotions, so he naturally hates it.”

His words made the three of them feel slightly relieved. In fact, before this, they had thought that Chu Yu might have done something disgusting.

But they had never dared to ask, fearing that it would trigger bad memories for Chu Zhaoyi.

Now that they had a definite answer, they felt both anger and relief. Fortunately, A-Yi had not actually been harmed.

But Chu Yu was dead, and their anger had nowhere to be vented.

The worst off was Xie Tingyun. Zhang Anru even felt some sympathy for her husband.

“I want to dig up Chu Yu’s grave!” Zhang Anru said angrily, before she even finished speaking.

Xie Tingyun had already sent the message to his subordinates.

Chu Yu and Li Yurong were buried by Chu Zhaoyi himself. He hated the two and chose a very remote cemetery.

And they were both cremated into ashes.

If they wanted revenge, they could only scatter the ashes.

Chinese people value a peaceful burial.

Xie Tingyun was sending people to dig up graves.

Gu Yusen’s eyes lit up, secretly annoyed that he hadn’t thought of that!

Xie Yuyin strongly agreed with her father’s approach. The two discussed how to carry it out, and they both felt much better.

Zhang Anru was originally unable to control her emotions and wanted to cry, but she was forced to laugh by this.

“Brother Sanmu, how many of these do I eat?” Chu Zhaoyi didn’t understand why he had to take so much medicine. He also didn’t bother to remember how much of each medicine to take. He just took whatever Gu Yusen handed him.

Now that he had to take it himself, he was a bit confused.

He walked into the living room holding a handful of pills and asked, not noticing the strange atmosphere among the others.

Gu Yusen slapped his forehead, realizing that he had been so preoccupied with explaining the matter that he had sent A-Yi away and forgotten about this.

“Don’t eat them randomly. Let me see. Today, little Chu Pig is a bit stupid. Eating the wrong medicine will damage your brain even more.” Gu Yusen was being flippant, but he quickly walked over and took each medicine, handing it to the young man in the correct dosage.

Chu Zhaoyi looked up and bit Gu Yusen’s cheek hard: “Not stupid.”

    Bad habits.

Gu Yusen was bitten on the cheek by Chu Zhaoyi, and hissed in pain, but he didn’t dodge. He just smiled and rubbed his head, his tone full of doting: “Ouch, little Chu Pig is biting people! Aunt Zhang, you have to stand up for me!”

Chu Zhaoyi let go of his mouth, glared at him, his eyes showing some dissatisfaction, but the corners of his mouth were slightly raised. He wasn’t really angry, but he still had to mutter, his eyes fell on Zhang Anru and he opened his mouth anxiously: “Mom doesn’t believe him, she believes me, Brother Sanmu said I was stupid first.”

Zhang Anru looked at the two with a smile, naturally siding with her own child: “Xiao Gu, you’re in the wrong here.”

    “A-Yi is very smart.”

Chu Zhaoyi raised his chin, having someone to back him up.

Gu Yusen’s heart itched looking at his smug expression.

    He wanted to kiss him.

Chu Zhaoyi didn’t notice Gu Yusen’s increasingly dangerous gaze. He took the pills he handed over, obediently put them in his mouth, and took a sip of water from the cup, swallowing the medicine.

    “That’s right, I’m smart.”

Gu Yusen watched him finish taking the medicine, nodded with satisfaction, and reached out to pinch his cheek: “Smart, smart, A-Yi is the smartest, but next time, can you bite a little lighter? My face is almost bruised by you.”

    “Okay.”

    Chu Zhaoyi reluctantly agreed.

But he didn’t want to change.
