    Chapter 96

The scene before them shifted, as if a cloud of mist had enveloped their eyes, making it difficult to see clearly.

Yan Yunqing clearly felt the muscles in the arm he was holding tense up. He patted Divic’s arm and said, “It’s okay, just follow me later.”

A notification appeared before Yan Yunqing’s eyes: ‘[Mantipeer Gold Factory] level exceeds your level. The probability of failing an over-level challenge is increased. Do you want to continue the challenge?’

Seeing the notification, he knew this was an exploration instance. The level requirement was 60, and Yan Yunqing was only level 46, a difference of 14 levels. No wonder the system warned him about the level gap.

But Yan Yunqing still chose “Yes.” A level 60 instance was nothing. Even if his level wasn’t high enough, Divic’s level wasn’t low. Averaging their levels, they still exceeded 60.

Besides, exploration instances shouldn’t have too much combat, right?

As Yan Yunqing confirmed, the mist before them finally dissipated.

Only then did Yan Yunqing see clearly that they were in a huge, mechanized factory. In front of him was a moving conveyor belt, but it was empty, running idly.

Yan Yunqing looked around at the surroundings. All the objects here seemed to have been magnified more than ten times, making their figures seem particularly small, as if they had suddenly gone from Lilliput to the land of giants.

The ground shook slightly. Yan Yunqing pulled Divic down and hid in the gap beneath the conveyor belt.

The height of the conveyor belt exceeded Yan Yunqing’s shoulder. After they crouched down, the gap was more than enough to accommodate them.

As the ground vibrated, Yan Yunqing looked out through the gap. A huge hooded figure appeared before him, towering dozens of meters high, roughly in proportion to the magnified objects around it.

Everything around them had been magnified; in a sense, they had shrunk.

The hooded figure moved very stiffly. It manipulated something on the conveyor belt in front of it a few times. Suddenly, the machine began to buzz loudly, causing Yan Yunqing’s ears to ring.

Yan Yunqing staggered from the vibration. A pair of warm hands covered his ears, and the familiar scent enveloped him, reducing the piercing sound.

Yan Yunqing couldn’t help but look back at Divic. Seeing that Divic’s expression wasn’t too good either, Yan Yunqing made a gesture on the back of his hand and mouthed: Go!

In this noisy environment, Divic couldn’t hear him even if he spoke. Making gestures and mouthing was faster.

Divic nodded. The two found a gap and quickly ran past the hooded figure’s feet, darting to the opposite platform.

Yan Yunqing surveyed the surrounding environment and saw a pile of debris suitable for climbing. He pointed in that direction to Divic and ran over first.

Climbing the pile of debris wasn’t too difficult, but they had to avoid the hooded figures that occasionally passed by, which took some time.

Finally reaching the top, with Divic close behind, Yan Yunqing used the higher vantage point to get a clear view of the instance space.

As the instance name suggested, this was a factory. However, what was being placed on the assembly line was white mask after white mask.

The starting point of the assembly line was a large black vat, from which a strange liquid flowed continuously. After several stages of precipitation, a white powder was filtered out and sent to a new boiler for cooking.

The cooked liquid was squeezed into mask molds and then sent for baking, finally forming white masks, which were sent out of the factory via the conveyor belt.

The hooded figures were busy with these processes, occasionally manipulating the machines, but Yan Yunqing couldn’t understand what they were doing.

But the factory was called the Gold Factory? What was the relationship between these white masks and “gold”?

Divic tugged at Yan Yunqing’s hand and pointed in a direction. Yan Yunqing looked over and saw the gears of the factory machine. The machine was very tall, reaching all the way to the ceiling, and directly above it was a ventilation duct.

Given their size, they could just climb up the gears and enter the duct to see if it led to another place.

Yan Yunqing quickly understood Divic’s meaning. This was indeed a feasible method, so he nodded in agreement.

This time, Divic took the lead. He climbed onto the gears first. The surface of the gears was rough, but there were no points to climb on. The ascent was very difficult. Even if Divic could go up, Yan Yunqing would have some difficulty.

After several failed attempts, Yan Yunqing sat down in the pile of debris, using the messy objects to block his figure, and looked at the gears in front of him, thinking about whether there was another way to explore other areas.

Having observed the production process of these white masks, his instance exploration progress had only increased by 25%, indicating that the Gold Factory didn’t just produce these white masks. There must be something else related to its name.

But this scene, why did he have such a strong sense of déjà vu…

Was this instance a duo mode?

While Yan Yunqing was lost in thought, Divic took new action – he transformed back into his original form.

The Dragon Clan was called the Dragon Clan, with “Dragon” in its name. One would know how huge Divic’s original form was. According to the proportions in reality, Divic’s original form was at least ten times larger than Yan Yunqing’s.

But whether it was due to the influence of the instance, Divic became a dragon, but appeared in front of Yan Yunqing as a little dragon that was about the same size as him.

Compared to the giant hooded figure, Divic looked like a toy dragon.

Divic also didn’t seem used to his suddenly shrunken form. He tried flapping his wings and flew up steadily.

    Yan Yunqing’s eyes lit up.

That’s right, the Dragon Clan had wings and could fly. They couldn’t climb up, but Divic could fly him up!

Divic crouched down in front of Yan Yunqing, signaling Yan Yunqing to sit on his back.

Yan Yunqing didn’t stand on ceremony at all. He directly climbed onto his back. To stabilize his body, Yan Yunqing grabbed the only place he could – Divic’s wings.

The dragon beneath him trembled instantly, but tried hard not to move.

Yan Yunqing looked down and realized that he was grabbing the root of Divic’s wings, which connected to the dragon’s back, a rare sensitive and fragile place on the dragon’s body.

Releasing his hand, Yan Yunqing said sorry in his heart.

After Yan Yunqing sat firmly, he patted the dragon’s neck. Divic understood and flapped his wings twice, directly taking off into the air.

They still followed the original plan, flying to the front of the ventilation duct. Although Divic’s original form could carry him to fly, the target was still a bit too big, making it inconvenient for them to hide.

Yan Yunqing reached out and pushed. Sure enough, the mouth of the ventilation duct wasn’t that tight. He pushed it twice and it loosened. With a force, the cover of the ventilation duct was pushed open by him.

Yan Yunqing stepped on Divic’s back and climbed into the ventilation duct. Divic also squeezed his head up, but the duct was relatively narrow, and the dragon’s butt was stuck outside.

Seeing this, Yan Yunqing almost burst out laughing. Divic wasn’t annoyed either. He grabbed the duct entrance with his claws and transformed back into human form again.

Instantly freed from the stuck state, Divic’s figure swayed. Yan Yunqing reached out and grabbed his arm, pulling him up.

The noise inside the ventilation duct was much quieter. Speaking and communicating here was no longer affected. Yan Yunqing poked his head out a little from the duct entrance and looked out, finding that the group of hooded figures hadn’t noticed their actions just now.

“Safe, let’s continue exploring other areas of this factory.” Yan Yunqing looked at the system description. “Exploration degree exceeding 80% is considered a successful exploration, and you can leave this instance.”

    Divic: “Exploration instance?”

Yan Yunqing gave a simple introduction: “It’s a space that is different from the original world and is isolated separately. The content here is usually generated based on the space owner’s impressions or experiences. Completing the challenge of this space can get some rewards.”

Although this world has the concept of levels, no one knows the concept of instances.

But logically speaking, the Demon King’s followers should know the concept of instances, after all, the Demon King used to do a lot of instance runs…

    Divic was thoughtful.

The ventilation ducts connected in all directions. Yan Yunqing’s minimap was useless in the instance. He simply took out a purple fruit from his backpack, squeezed it twice, and purple juice overflowed, staining his fingers with color.

This was a purple dye fruit. People in remote areas often used it to dye cloth. The dyed color was a fluorescent purple. During the day, it was similar to ordinary dyes, but it glowed at night.

Moreover, the color dyed by this fruit’s juice wasn’t easy to fade unless its leaves were used to wash it to dissolve the color.

Yan Yunqing had obtained some in his backpack when he was in Sunset Village, but he hadn’t had a chance to use them. Now he could use them to make marks.

He used his purple-stained finger to draw a triangle on the wall of the ventilation duct. Looking at the purple triangle that glowed slightly in the dark duct, Yan Yunqing contentedly withdrew his hand.

Every time he encountered a crossroads, Yan Yunqing chose the path on the right, and incidentally drew a triangle on the wall. After walking for more than ten minutes, Yan Yunqing felt the buzzing sound of the machine gradually weaken, becoming indistinct.

He confirmed that they should have left the white mask production line workshop.

“Find the ventilation duct opening here.” Yan Yunqing said softly.

Divic groped around to find it. This was relatively easy to find. Before long, Yan Yunqing and Divic found the cover of the ventilation duct together.

Yan Yunqing found a long sword and embedded it into the gap of the duct, prying it twice. With a light creak, the cover of the duct was pried open by them.

Yan Yunqing leaned against the duct entrance and looked out, finding that this was a dim room. Yan Yunqing’s night vision allowed him to clearly see the furnishings in the room.

    A sofa and strange ornaments.

Other places were in Yan Yunqing’s blind spot, and he had to go down to see clearly.

However, Yan Yunqing determined that there were no hooded figures in this room, so the risk of going down wasn’t great.

“Let’s go, let’s go down and take a look.”

Divic jumped out first, transforming back into a dragon in mid-air, flapping his wings before landing to successfully take off and avoid the tragedy of a crash.

He flew up to meet Yan Yunqing. Yan Yunqing found the right time, jumped onto the dragon’s back, and directed him to land on the giant sofa.

The filling of the sofa was very soft. Yan Yunqing jumped off the dragon and almost stumbled.
