    ## Chapter 141

Everywhere he looked, there were towering trees, with emerald green vines winding and spiraling upwards. Sunlight filtered through the dense canopy, scattering dappled light on the earthy ground. Golden dust motes danced and fluttered in the beams of light.

Unidentified wildflowers bloomed by the roadside, their delicate fragrance just within reach of the Cami beast’s nose, mingling with the crisp scent of the ancient forest, creating a refreshing and uplifting aroma.

He could hear the gentle murmur of a flowing stream nearby, and birds perched on the branches of distant trees curiously eyed the newly arrived stranger, their clear, melodious calls ringing in the air.

Even the pervasive mist in the forest had dissipated considerably, instead draping the beautiful scenery in a layer of hazy gauze, like a fairyland.

Although it was slightly different from what he remembered of Serinval, it still felt the same, like a secluded paradise.

“Quill!!” A roar shattered the peaceful moment.

Yan Yunqing was so startled that his fur almost stood on end. He turned around to see a stunningly beautiful, black-haired man in white robes striding angrily towards him. His bare feet touched the muddy ground without getting dirty, and his long, flowing black hair cascaded over his shoulders, casually tied back with a vine, looking very unrestrained.

Frankly speaking, he had some of the holiness of an angel, yet possessed a more free-spirited and carefree air than angels, perfectly fitting the stereotypical image of an elf.

The pair of translucent wings on his back also confirmed his identity.

    This was an adult elf.

Upon seeing the black-haired man, Quill instantly became alert, quickly flying behind Zara to hide. He said sheepishly, “Teacher Rhine…”

Rhine reached out, quickly and accurately grabbing Quill from behind Zara. He exerted a little force, preventing Quill from escaping his grasp, and looked at him with a dangerous glint in his eyes, “You little rascal, you actually took Zara past the magic array and tried to run away? And you used my secret order! If Regas hadn’t told me, would I still be in the dark right now?!”

“I was wrong, Teacher Rhine!” Quill struggled to escape from Rhine’s grasp, but to no avail. He was held in Rhine’s hand and vigorously kneaded.

“You little brat are really something! Not only did you dare to steal my secret order, but you even dared to kidnap Zara!” Rhine was furious, wanting to hit the child but frustrated that Quill was only fifteen centimeters tall, making it unsatisfying to hit him.

“Do you know how long the elders searched for the two of you when you went missing? You little stinker!”

As he spoke, Rhine’s face flushed red, as if he was about to overheat.

Yan Yunqing quietly took a few steps to the side, finding the best viewing spot to watch the show. No matter what world it was, parents scolding their children was always the most interesting drama, let alone an otherworldy elf version.

Zara also knew that they had just done something wrong, and didn’t dare to plead for Quill, only lowering her head and silently listening to Teacher Rhine’s scolding.

After scolding them for more than ten minutes and thoroughly kneading the two little ones, making sure that neither of them were injured, Rhine finally stopped scolding and took a few breaths.

Yan Yunqing was amazed. He thought that Teacher Rhine didn’t need to breathe when scolding people, but it turned out he did? Then how did he manage to say so much in one breath without a single stutter?

Was his lung capacity a bit too impressive?

Sensing the attention, Rhine lowered his head and met a pair of round, red eyes. The clear, red eyes twinkled with a respectful expression.

Rhine paused, examining Yan Yunqing up and down, saying uncertainly, “Cami beast…? No, that’s not right…”

He casually tossed Quill away, who rolled far away with a “gluglu” sound, bent down, grabbed the Cami beast’s long ears, and lifted it up, scrutinizing it closely.

“Your soul and the Cami beast’s body don’t match. What are you?”

As he spoke, Rhine’s eyes gradually sharpened, and his gaze towards Yan Yunqing became suspicious and wary, “How did you enter Serinval?”

As soon as Rhine said this, he remembered that these two little brats had run out of Serinval today. He suddenly turned around and glared at the two little elves who were guiltily lowering their heads, narrowing his eyes, “Don’t tell me you brought him back?”

Quill became even more guilty, “No, I just… that…”

Zara explained for him, “No, Caca was brought back by me. His companions are missing, and my tracking magic couldn’t find his companions, so I brought him back to ask Elder Regas.”

She also briefly explained how she and Cami beast Yan Yunqing had met.

    Caca?

Another question mark popped up above Yan Yunqing’s head. Who was Caca? How did they even give him a name?

Hearing Zara’s explanation, Rhine’s entire demeanor changed. He lifted Yan Yunqing by the ears and pointed at him, “You’re saying that this Cami beast can talk, can turn into a human, but you still think he’s a Cami beast?”

Yan Yunqing’s front paws hung in front of his chest, and he blinked obediently, swaying innocently with Rhine’s movements.

Rhine was heartbroken, “How did I teach you before? Elder Pike would have returned to the embrace of the Mother Tree on the spot if he heard this. Have you forgotten that there are transformation potions? High-level transformation potions can turn you into the appearance of an animal!”

Zara suddenly realized, “Ah, I forgot there was such a possibility!”

Rhine looked like he was about to faint.

Why was this elf named Rhine so excitable? Come to think of it, the elves of the past didn’t seem this lively? Could it be that after more than a thousand years, elves had all become as lively and unrestrained as Lillian?

    Yan Yunqing wondered.

Rhine wiped his face, finally accepting that his students were very unreliable.

Yan Yunqing silently raised his paw, “So, can you take me to see Elder Regas now? My companions are still missing, so I’m a little anxious.”

There was no new news from Penelope’s side, and the system hadn’t prompted a mission failure, indicating that the two of them should be alright.

After all, from the various signs at the scene, it could be inferred that Rowena and William wouldn’t be in danger so quickly, but if time dragged on, their situation wouldn’t be good. It would be best to find those two as soon as possible.

Rhine glared fiercely at Yan Yunqing, “You think I’ll let you see Regas just because you want to? You deceived elven children with your Cami beast appearance and entered Serinval, passing through the magic barrier. Do you think the elven race will let you off so easily?”

Zara couldn’t help but argue, “No, we didn’t use your secret order to bring him in. He came in by himself.”

“Came in by himself?” Rhine was suspicious, looking at Quill, “What do you mean?”

Seeing that there was finally a place where he could speak, Quill quickly gave Rhine a demonstration, “He just walked straight through the barrier like this. We hadn’t even used the secret order yet!”

“How is that possible?” Rhine flatly denied, “The previous magic array might have allowed people with elven blood to enter directly, but since a few months ago… well, the magic array has been completely closed. Even elves returning from training outside have to use special methods. How could he possibly walk straight in?”

Rhine’s searching gaze kept sweeping over Yan Yunqing.

Quill spread his hands, “Then I don’t know. But he said he knew Lillian.”

“Lillian?” Rhine was surprised, the hand holding Yan Yunqing’s ear loosened slightly, almost dropping Yan Yunqing to the ground, “You know Lillian?”

“Yes, I met her in Bato Vita before. Later, Lillian returned to Serinval for her growth period. Did she mention me to you?” Yan Yunqing politely answered Rhine’s question.

    Rhine: “…No, she didn’t.”

He looked complicated, finally releasing his grip and placing Yan Yunqing back on the ground, “You’re here to find Lillian?”

His attitude made a one hundred and eighty degree turn, being so friendly that Yan Yunqing almost thought that the irritable elf he had just seen was an illusion.

    Yan Yunqing was puzzled, “No?”

“Didn’t Zara just say that? My companions are missing, and her tracking magic didn’t find them, so I followed them back to see if Elder Regas has a solution.”

    Rhine: …

“Oh… Oh, you’re here to find Elder Regas.” Rhine was somewhat distracted.

Yan Yunqing said embarrassedly, “Of course, I’m also a little worried about Lillian. How is she now? Calculating the time, her growth period should be almost over?”

Rhine: “…Yes, it’s about these few days.”

Yan Yunqing was surprised, it was that coincidental?

“Then can I see her later?” Yan Yunqing said, “Actually, I’m a little worried about her. I haven’t received any news from her for a long time.”

Recently, the messages he sent to Lillian had all disappeared without a trace, receiving no reply at all. If he didn’t know that Lillian might not have time to reply to him during her growth period, and that she was in the elven territory and wouldn’t be in danger, Yan Yunqing would have suspected that something had happened to Lillian.

    “Maybe… I guess?” Rhine wasn’t sure.

“Forget it… I’ll take you to find Regas first. As for Lillian… well, ask Regas. If he agrees, you can see her.”

Yan Yunqing wasn’t surprised. He had already guessed that Lillian was the new generation of Elven King. He, an outsider, said that he knew Lillian and wanted to see their king right away. No elf would agree to that outright.

Yan Yunqing agreed readily, signaling Rhine to walk in front and he would follow behind.

Rhine was silent for a moment, then turned back and picked Yan Yunqing up. Quill and Zara very consciously flew to Rhine’s shoulders, one on each side.

“You can’t keep up with me.”

The translucent wings on Rhine’s back vibrated rapidly, and he flew up with Yan Yunqing in his arms, heading in a certain direction.

Since Rhine said so, Yan Yunqing was at ease being held in his arms, taking the opportunity to look around Serinval. It could be described as a green ocean, like entering a forest from a fairy tale. Treehouses and mushroom houses of various shapes could be seen everywhere, filled with the aura of nature.

From time to time, an elf would fly by, smiling and nodding at Rhine and his group after seeing them, calling out, “Rhine, you finally found these two naughty kids?”

“Thanks for your hard work, Rhine.”

There were also cubs who shouted at Quill from afar, “Haha, Quill, you’re doomed! Teacher Pike said you’ll be punished to do hard labor for a month! Don’t cry when Elder Regas scolds you later!”

Quill glared back angrily, “You’re the one who’ll cry!”

The cub laughed loudly and ran away, the schadenfreude evident in his laughter.

Quill was a little angry, and Rhine snorted, “It’s your own fault for getting scolded and crying. You dared to sneak out. Do you know how dangerous it is outside now?”

Quill drooped again, muttering, “I haven’t been out before. How would I know how dangerous it is outside?”

    Rhine: …

Yan Yunqing almost laughed out loud.

After flying for a while, Rhine landed. In front of Yan Yunqing was an ancient, giant treehouse formed by several trees and intertwined vines – no, it should be said, a palace?

The exterior of the palace seemed to have been completely grown naturally from these plants. Everyone who had seen it would marvel at the wonders of nature – however, Yan Yunqing knew that this ancient and awe-inspiring vine palace was actually personally grown by Sylph using magic.

The Demon King had even provided the design inspiration.

It was just because the residences of the king and ordinary elves in the elven race were no different at the beginning, just simple treehouses. The Demon King felt that this didn’t match the Elven King’s status, and incited Sylph to build this awe-inspiring building.
